Hi girls! I know we wanted to start a thread for the ones who didn't get their BFP this month.

@Skyla01 @Mrsrobinson247 @SarahMS I know you wanted to join.

Anyone else welcome to join us on our conception journey and looking to test around 2nd week in December.

TTC #1 (2nd pregnancy)
Cycle #2
AF due around 9th September

This is my 1st month using OPKs - anyone got any advice on when to start testing?

And yes, love this thread ladies 🙏

ChampooPapi · 21/11/2019 18:06

Sometimes you just get a really good one that's supportive but also wise. We've got that here

Sunflower2019 · 21/11/2019 18:18

You all make me laugh another cat or dog 🤣 knowing my luck id get another puppy and fall pregnant 🤷‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Sorry to hear af came @LatteLover12

My dp has just said he’s going on lads work trip on the 30th that’s when I ovulate and I’m working when he’s home that day 😡🤬

How dare he 😂 he will most certainly have to cancel!

Yes great thread girlies xxx 💕

Sunflower2019 · 21/11/2019 18:19

Hello any newbies too!! Xx

What’s everyone ages if you don’t mind me asking? I think once the 30s hit it’s definitely harder! X

LatteLover12 · 21/11/2019 18:28

No @ChampooPapi they're with my bastard ex husband. DP is younger than me and childless. He had mumps at age 17 so we're starting to wonder if that's had an impact on his swimmers.

I'm 38 so that won't be helping either although my cycles are way more regular than when I was in my 20s. I can see I'm definitely ovulating because I chart my temperature.

We had a chat when AF came last time and agreed that neither of us would want to pay for ICSI or IVF so we've given ourselves till this time next year then we'll give up.

DP adores my boys so that definitely helps!

ChampooPapi · 21/11/2019 18:29

I'm 32 but 33 I'm a couple of months so would very much like to be with child before my birthday in March

ChampooPapi · 21/11/2019 18:38

@LatteLover12 bastard, bloody fertile ex bastard.

Has your partner gone for any tests? I'm sure a basic once over could be very much worth it. After having been pregnant before and woman your 38 not 48, it will definitely happen for you but he might need some help. I mean fixing the sperm side of things doesn't always mean ivf so if he's willing and able then possibly worth looking into.

Ellsbells112 · 21/11/2019 18:52

@Sunflower2019 hahaha ha I can try but bloody heck! Haha
Yeah I know now what stresses me is "do I have scar tissue" well I obviously do as I had a csection. 🙄 If it's not one thing it's another lol I just want to be fertile already and try again!! How are you doing? What cycle day are you? I'm cd4 last day of af today its basically finished woop woop xx

Hello to all new ones!

Howdy @champoopapi hey I always wondered what you name is about??

ChampooPapi · 21/11/2019 19:15

@Ellsbells112

Drake fan over here. Champagne papi is his nickname and Instagram handle. I'm more of a domestic papi so hence the 'champoo'

Mrsrobinson247 · 21/11/2019 20:14

@Beau2019 I’ve decided not to OPK this cycle, I did it last month (got a bit obsessed) and it tied in with the tracker so we decided we would just see what happens this month. Probably a bit naive as we thought we would be successful 1st time. DH is one of 7 and I’ve got 2 siblings as well and none of them have had any problems. His sister has just had a baby at 43, Christmas shopping is a nightmare in our family! I do think there is something quite perverse about spending the last 10 years trying not to get pregnant!

MrsA2019 · 21/11/2019 20:26

Mrsrobinson247 it is a bit perverse isn't it, so desperate not to be getting pregnant all those years, thinking the moment we forgot to take just one pill we would be pregnant....oh how naive we were!

Sunflower2019 · 21/11/2019 20:36

@ChampooPapi my dp is a massive drake fan!

@Ellsbells112 when you gonna start opk? My last day of af! Yay! Took my vitamins this morning, have used my progesterone cream so all good to go!

Soooo glad it’s Friday tomorrow and got the weekend off 😍

I’m 33 in January, need to get this show on the road 🤣 ideally if it takes me another 5/6 months I’m gonna start worrying, statically it’s meant to take couples 6-12 months.. I dont think I could handle doing this for years! Xx

Sunflower2019 · 21/11/2019 20:38

The progesterone cream has really good feedback if anyone interested...

imnewtothis · 21/11/2019 20:42

Wow the ovulation pains tonight are bad, are the pains a sign of ovulation on it's way or that ovulation is happening, anyone know?

ohreally2019 · 21/11/2019 22:08

@Sunflower2019, is it too late to use the cream after ovulation do you know? Where do you get it from?

This bug my DP has is really not convenient for our SMEP this month! All I need now is for me to catch it on ovulation day!

I'm 34, convinced DS three years ago exactly in cycle 1, how things change in 3 years! My cycles are shorter now too.

Sunflower2019 · 21/11/2019 22:25

@ohreally2019 I think you can use it at anytime, and once pregnant continue up until 12 months, online. I think i got mine off amazon or eBay. Wasn’t cheap about £17 but I heard it works so worth a go!
Fingers crossed you don’t get the bug 🤞 in guess as long as you dtd as close to ovulation as poss you’ll be fine xxx

botbird84 · 21/11/2019 23:36

Hope you don't mind me joining the party!

Trying for our first, it's only been about a week! AF due 8th Dec. I'm so eager to become a mumma and I'm already worried that it'll take a while and I'll end up disappointed.

Made the mistake of reading up on early signs of pregnancy now questioning everything going on with my body!

Is this a normal feeling? Feel like TTC is quite a lonely process.

bluebell94 · 22/11/2019 07:36

Hey @botbird84, I feel exactly the same. I'm only on my first proper cycle since coming off the pill and I'm already terrified in case it takes ages or something is wrong, it's so hard not to stress about it but I'm trying!
I too think it can be quite a lonely and daunting process. Don't get me wrong, my DH is fully supportive but it's like at the minute it feels it's all on me to ovulate and know what the hell my body is doing! Best of luck to you Smile

Beau2019 · 22/11/2019 07:37

CD12 for me today girls and still blank faces on the OPK :( this time last month I am sure I had ovulated by now but that was a shorter than usual cycle (25) even if I am on an average 28 day cycle I would have expected a flashing smiley by now.

OP posts:
Sunflower2019 · 22/11/2019 07:46

You may just go to solid smiley @Beau2019 I’m dreading using these for that reason 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m starting tomo, I’ll be cd7 by then! Xx

Mango31 · 22/11/2019 07:50

@Beau2019 and anyone else using clear blue opks. I am CD 13 and had my solid smiley today after 5 blank circles all week. I seem to have skipped the flashing smileys so I'm wondering if I have a super quick surge.
We are following SMEP but might have also DTD yesterday on a rest day....hope my partner is up for another 3 days haha! Might have to be creative to entice him so he doesn't complain!

Mumofboys17 · 22/11/2019 08:41

Hi @botbird84 and @bluebell94 😊 and everyone else!
TTC is such a massive thing I think it’s so daunting when you first start out, like so many others have said on here we spend most of our young lives trying to avoid getting pregnant it feels almost cruel to make it so difficult when it’s actually the desired result!
We’re all in the same boat here! Whether it’s the first, second or third time haha 😊❤️

@Mango31 I did use the clear blue tests last time and I’m sure I had a solid smiley when I ovulated but it was over 2 years ago so can’t be 100% certain 😬 xx

SarahMS · 22/11/2019 12:55

Hi girls so been successful with the OPKs last few days getting used to reading them and doing them now so hopefully when ovulation comes next week I will be prepared! I also have been sticking them in a little book to look back and compare! I'm using the cheapies from amazon but I test at 12:30 and 6:30 everyday I was just wondering if it's ok to test at 12:30 I read somewhere that you should test after 2pm? I test twice a day so the second one should pick up a surge right?

Baby dust to everyone xxx

Beau2019 · 22/11/2019 13:17

@Mango31 woo okay this gives me hope! I had my 5th blank circle today which is annoying as I'm CD12! I think I may have stated testing too early as my cycle was 25 days last month so went off that but that is unusually short for me. What time of the day have you been testing and now many times a day?

@Sunflower2019 I'm hoping like @Mango31 I just go to a solid smiley! Or any smiley would be nice so I know it's happening!

Beau2019 · 22/11/2019 13:19

I also mean to ask, are any of you ladies TTC but not married?? I'm intrigued more than anything. We own a house/dog etc and although we don't share our money so to speak we do share mortgage bills etc and my partner is pretty financially supportive of me when needed.

Just want to know I'm not alone really haha!
