Hi,

I’m 29 and trying for my first baby. I had a missed miscarriage at the end of August and have decided to try again.

Will be testing around 31 October/1 November (if I can last that long!) so come join if you’re in the same boat.

I had very specific niggling, tingly cramps around implantation on DD, and my boobs were agony from about 10 dpo or maybe even earlier. Last time (MMC) I had the cramps again but harder to distinguish cos I get niggles in my c section scar around ovulation now anyway, and my boobs didn't hurt because I breastfed for quite a while on DD so they've finished that development.

Having the niggly pains a lot today but think it's too early for implantation, pretty sure I ovulated on Sunday. This is only my sixth cycle in over two years so I'm not as familiar with what's normal for me as I used to be!

Basically, yeah, a positive test is the only way to tell

siaa · 24/10/2019 06:19

@OrangeHue thank you. A bit nervous but because we've had a long break since last year I feel ready to start again. It feels like last year was a bad dream!

I'm tempted to use a FRER tomorrow morning (that's the earliest day I could use one) but not sure how reliable they are? Does anyone know?

CL1982 · 24/10/2019 07:38

@250515xx oh yes, I remember that stuff well! If I get pregnant i’ll Be straight on it 🙈

CL1982 · 24/10/2019 07:39

@siaa I used to say they were my favourite but I got a horrendous evap a few months ago which has rocked me. I think they are great but just beware the faint grey line!

LazyDogFox · 24/10/2019 09:23

Well I caved! Did a cheapie test this morning and obviously BFN. AF due in 6 days so there’s still time but for a few reasons I don’t think this is my month!

Hoping for better results for you all x

HugeAgeGap · 24/10/2019 10:06

@LazyDogFox don't be to disappointed lovely, very early days yet. I'm due AF in 7 days, I don't think I'm gonna test until after AF due as it's depressing getting that bfn isn't it. I thought my luck was in last month and did one early and was really disheartened and then AF appeared next day! keep positive lovely x

Skygirl1983 · 24/10/2019 10:07

@LazyDogFox 6 days is still early!! I'm due my AF on Wednesday and trying to hold on til sunday. I will probably cave on Saturday! I only managed to dtd once though so I'm probably out before I have even started.

MindyStClaire · 24/10/2019 10:11

@siaa I've found FRER very reliable. I got a BFP on the first possible day on DD and a few days later on MMC (MMC was healthy until 8 weeks, so the later test won't have been because of that, my cycle just wasn't regular so I was testing on the wrong day iykwim). They're the most sensitive on the market.

Just make sure any line is definitely pink and not grey. Good luck! Flowers

LazyDogFox · 24/10/2019 10:20

@Skygirl1983 @HugeAgeGap
Thank you ladies. I know I was daft to do it and it is disappointing. I did it thinking ‘I’m likely out anyway so may aswell know now’ but really wish I hadn’t... I’m still symptom spotting ahhh.

Anyway how are you ladies feeling? X

showmewhatyougot · 24/10/2019 11:02

Oh @LazyDogFox I'm sorry, I wouldn't rule you out still as it's very early still & even the best tests wouldn't be able to pick it up let alone a cheapy.

I'm also symptom spotting, I swear my mind is playing mean tricks on me! I keep getting a stabbing pain in my stomach, close to where I get menstrual cramps. But there is also a nasty stomach bug doing the rounds so could just be the beginning of that? fun

I haven't even brought tests yet, I know I will just waste them all if there in the house. Any recommendations? I've never had to buy one Blush

Skygirl1983 · 24/10/2019 11:04

@LazyDogFox I was symptom spotting like mad last cycle to the point I'd convinced myself I was definitely pregnant! And I drove myself potty waiting to test. This time I have no real symptoms to spot. No backache or cramps. However my nipples are ginormous and seem to be constantly on point!! I feel quite at ease with it all this month though.

Whyhaveidonethis · 24/10/2019 12:06

I just had an hour where my boobs were excruciatingly painful. Can't really explain how that felt. It's passed now though.....is it a sign!?! 😂 6/7dpo today so I doubt it!

CL1982 · 24/10/2019 12:19

@LazyDogFox honestly they are so stingy with the dye in those things.... don’t worry. I too did an Easy@home and was not surprised when a large blank faced me 😆🥴

Skygirl1983 · 24/10/2019 12:30

I always have sore boobs before my period so cant count that as a symptom for me. This isnt baby no1 for though. This will be no4 with my last pregnancy being 12 years ago! I don't recall much in the way of symptoms then either. I didn't even have morning sickness. But maybe being pregnant mid 30s is different to early 20s!! This will be no1 for me and my new hubby.

LazyDogFox · 24/10/2019 12:49

You’ve all made me feel much better thanks ladies. It’s nice knowing we are not in this alone!
I had felt so at ease knowing I probably hadn’t conceived as I’d only DTD twice but for some reason I’m now thinking maybe... it’s such a pain!
Thanks for your lovely words. I will test again next week if no AF but think I’ve learnt my lesson about testing early!

So who on here is TTC baby number one and who already has children? 👶🏼

showmewhatyougot · 24/10/2019 14:08

I'm TTC number 2. My DS is 5 early next year. X

CL1982 · 24/10/2019 14:11

WHYYYYYYY DID I DOOOOO THIS! I'm actually not 100% sure there isn't a super faint line but i think this was a response to getting the wrong First Response tests today that I aggressively thought 'damn you, i WILL test with something'. Anyone else doing pointlessly early tests? No? Just me? DOH!

TWW testing on Halloween?
CL1982 · 24/10/2019 14:13

BY the way everyone, be careful buying the FR Rapid response tests as they are not FRER tests. They are on offer in Super drug. Got excited. Bought the wrong tests. DAMN IT!

showmewhatyougot · 24/10/2019 14:14

@CL1982 I really think I see a tiny blue line! Eeeee

CL1982 · 24/10/2019 14:18

Yeah I'm not sure either! I know it's a blue test though so 'BEWARE THE EVAP'! Saying that apparently these ones are ok. I think i'll need to re-test in a few days. I'm not quite getting my hopes up yet.

Skygirl1983 · 24/10/2019 14:21

@CL1982 how many dpo are you?? I have 2 cheapy dipsticks and 1 FRER that are calling my name but I'm currently ignoring!!

CL1982 · 24/10/2019 14:38

@skygirl1982 7DPO.

SERIOUSLY I AM RIDICULOUS!!!! I'm not even sure now i do have anything on that test tbh.

Skygirl1983 · 24/10/2019 14:42

@CL1982 honestly, I know your pain!! The wait is so hard!!! Keep strong! And sit on your hands! Lol x

LazyDogFox · 24/10/2019 14:46

@CL1982 hahaha I feel you as soon as I did mine I wasn’t like why did I do that. But... can I see a hint of blue? I don’t know want to get your hopes up but it does look a bit positive.

Wrigleys123 · 24/10/2019 14:48

@CL1982 I think it's a bit of a squinter but not too sure!

I have not even bought a test just can't be bothered as I'm sure it will be negative anyway!
