Hi,

I’m 29 and trying for my first baby. I had a missed miscarriage at the end of August and have decided to try again.

Will be testing around 31 October/1 November (if I can last that long!) so come join if you’re in the same boat.

@showmewhatyougot I know the feeling!! Trying to link every twinge to being pregnant... doesn’t help that I’m the least patient person in the whole entire world. Keep going not long til you know either way! X

HugeAgeGap · 23/10/2019 12:46

@showmewhatyougot I know the feeling! 7dpo today (I think) and literally everything exactly as per previous months, all the way down to cm! so just can't see it happening this month really!

showmewhatyougot · 23/10/2019 15:46

@LazyDogFox I thought I was patient before this, not now! 7 days to go, not that I'm counting or anything!

@HugeAgeGap Don't say that! It could be your month x

What day are people planning on testing?

KCT93 · 23/10/2019 16:23

Sorry if this is TMI and no one wants to share, but is anyone regularly checking their cervix? Or have done with previous pregnancies? Mine keeps going high and lower? And again TMI but what is everyone's CM doing? Mine keeps going from creamy to quite wet?

Skygirl1983 · 23/10/2019 16:37

I cant reach my cervix as it's too far back. Whenever I get a smear they have to use a larger speculum to get anywhere near it!! Not much going on with my CM just now either! Dont know if that's good or bad either!

KCT93 · 23/10/2019 17:06

@Skygirl1983 I don't think either of them are the most reliable way of detecting pregnancy as I have heard so many different stories! But I do it anyway to possibly prepare me for the worst!

HugeAgeGap · 23/10/2019 17:31

No idea what is normal for me in terms of cervix position so can't help with that!! Cm sticky yday and nothing really going on today, maybe wet. But nothing that haven't had every other month!

250515xx · 23/10/2019 19:21

Realistically, when do real symptoms actually start?!

showmewhatyougot · 23/10/2019 19:36

No idea about cervix either, but no cm for me, I'm very dry Confused

sojo44 · 23/10/2019 19:51

@HugeAgeGap aww thank you lovely 💖 I think I'll just write off the weird surge as an anomaly 🙈🙈 good shout- maybe I'll try temping for the next cycle and see what happens with that alongside the OPKs. How are you getting on? X

@LazyDogFox - I feel you! So impatient here as well and I'm not even over the first week of waiting 😂

KCT93 · 23/10/2019 20:15

@showmewhatyougot I've heard lots of different stories with CM some being dry when conceived and some not so just interesting to see how everyone else's is and when it comes to testing it can be compared.

@250515xx don't think many people get symptoms early on, think it's mainly after implantation has happened which can be 6 DPO onwards.

250515xx · 23/10/2019 20:28

@KCT93 I’m such a novice 🙈 I know nothing about cervix position or CM!

KCT93 · 23/10/2019 20:35

@250515xx cervix rises and goes soft just before and during ovulation, if you conceive they say your cervix should remain high and soft but again I've seen a few success stories that contradict this. Reading online CM should stay quite wet if conceived but I have also read contradicting success stories. This is why they are not the most reliable ways of detecting pregnancy but just interesting to see what everyone else's is like to compare if we get any success stories this month.

250515xx · 23/10/2019 20:43

@KCT93 thanks for that 😊 I’ll pay more attention and let you know!

HugeAgeGap · 23/10/2019 20:46

@sojo44 yeah doing both might just help pin things down a bit clearly. But, it's bloody hard getting the temp thing right, so might just add to confusion 😂 I have attempted it last couple weeks but crikey the amount of times I've woken really early or done it really late probably mean my chart isn't that accurate! I really just did it to confirm in my head I'm actually ovulating, and I think I've had enough of a higher temp to confirm that's the case so at least I know that's happening now! I think 7dpo today, but absolutely no symptoms!

showmewhatyougot · 23/10/2019 20:52

@KCT93 oh really that's interesting! I was thinking it was a bad sign, but I won't write this month off just yet then x

I find it fascinating how everyone's body can be so different, it's amazing how many different symptoms people have for the same basic condition.

KCT93 · 23/10/2019 21:00

@showmewhatyougot I started to write myself off when it went creamy and drier but after hours of research and looking at other threads I've seen that it's also very normal and there have been success stories! I know! I wish there was just one clear symptom that everyone got and that was it!

LazyDogFox · 23/10/2019 22:00

I didn’t know CM could indicate whether you’ve conceived or not?! God I feel so uneducated about this baby lark they don’t teach you this in year 10 biology do they.
My CM has disappeared, I’ve had stomach ache all day like a dull bloat/fullness. But that could easily be the pub lunch and bag of minstrels at the cinema...

KCT93 · 23/10/2019 22:04

@LazyDogFox it's one of the many ways but not very reliable as I have heard a few different success stories. I am very crampy, but until I have any other clearer symptoms I'm putting it down to AF!

LazyDogFox · 23/10/2019 22:08

@KCT93 there are so many different stories and symptoms out there aren’t there?! I suppose only a week or so until we know for sure but can’t help but hope/wonder!

CL1982 · 23/10/2019 22:34

@250515xx so... I would say ‘symptoms’ Rarely manifest until 5 weeks...or post the 4 week mark. I ALWAYS get nausea in very early pregnancy and mega sore, swollen boobs, but I have also been know to feel nauseous and have sore boobs from week 3 when not pregnant. Which was obviously NOT a symptom. It’s a very hard call. Basically a possible pregnancy symptom is only a ‘symptom’ of you get a positive test. Otherwise it’s just a period symptom. If that makes sense? That tricky progesterone...nasty stuff!

OrangeHue · 23/10/2019 22:43

@sweetkitty, such a lovely story about your pumpkin seed!

@Wrigleys123 Haha, it is ironic isn’t it! I love this time of year (Halloween) so it’ll be extra special if I were to get a positive!

@KCT93 I’m finding the wait really slow too. I have lots to keep me busy with so grateful in that respect but it is still so slow!

@Whyhaveidonethis, so sorry to hear a little your chemicals. I hope this month is it for you- and all the others.

@siaa sorry to hear about your losses. How are you feeling about trying again?

I have to admit, I’m not going to be able to contain myself and will test before the 31st, perhaps on the 29th and if it’s a negative then I’ll just what to test until the 31st or 1st!

OrangeHue · 23/10/2019 22:46

@CL1982, that makes perfect sense. I was reading about this the other day and apparently your body starts to prepare for pregnancy around ovulation and your progesterone levels are higher for a few days, so you essentially have the same (very mild) symptoms you would as if you were indeed pregnant. Then the hormone level drops once your body realises the egg hadn’t been fertilised

250515xx · 23/10/2019 22:54

@CL1982 I’m taking extra progesterone until Saturday too so I reckon my symptoms at the moment are from that anyway if they are real! This whole process is driving me a little bit crazy 🙈

Penelope86 · 23/10/2019 22:55
