Anyone else right at the start of a new cycle? I could do with some cycle buddies.

I'm 32, cycle 5 and TTC first baby. Regular cycles of 27/28 days.

Feeling bummed today - I really thought this month could be our month after all the DTD! Had my first TTC cry yesterday. Is that pathetic after just 5 months?!

Does anyone have any experience of a chemical pregnancy? AF has been a bit weird and there has been blood clots. I never did a test so not sure if it's a chemical or not??

Skyla01 · 22/07/2019 11:49

@Wannabemummy22 I think regular DTD is the way forward. Might just go for that next month, without opk. I don't have experience of cp. Without having done a pregnancy test it would be hard to say. For some women clots are normal. It's possible you are having an extra heavy period?

Wannabemummy22 · 22/07/2019 12:37

@Skyla01 I don't normally get clots. It's not been heavy at all so am a little confused.

Sunshine8888 · 22/07/2019 19:07

Thanks @Wannabemummy22. That’s reassuring to know. I’m keen to move on
now and get started with ttc for cycle 2! But obviously won’t be in my fertile week for a while being on CD5. I’m not too sure about clots? I think this is normal for some periods. If it was a CP I think you’d still test positive for a little bit after but I don’t know much about it as I’m new to all this

Wannabemummy22 · 01/08/2019 07:03

Hello ladies. How is everyone getting on? Did I see someone mention on here that their husband had a low sperm count? Please can you remind me what you did to improve it? TIA

Peachyx2505 · 01/08/2019 11:24

Hi @Wannabemummy22 think I'm in the 2ww here... just. Got horrible stomach ache today. Only managed to dtd once in the fertile time as I've been working loads (6 nights in 9! And a 4.5hr day shift amongst that 😴😴) so not holding out much hope for this month 😂😂 I'm being good and have started exercising and calorie counting. Need to get my fitness back as I lost it after my hospital stint and op last year.
How are you getting on? Xx

Sunshine8888 · 01/08/2019 11:34

Hi @Wannabemummy22 I’ve been trying to relax this month and not track everything! Just DTD every 2-3 days and hoping for the best. Currently CD15 - I don’t think I’ve ovulated yet but hard to tell as not tracking or been monitoring CM changes as I am on holiday. How are you doing?

@Peachyx2505 ahh it is tiring isn’t it! But it only takes one time so you never know! 🤞🏻

Wannabemummy22 · 01/08/2019 14:06

I'm due to ovulate this weekend so have been DTD every 2 days. However I've come to think that my DH has a low speed count as it is quite watery. He's got a test booked in at the end of September but I thought we could make some changes before then. Ultimately I think he should stop using our hot tub.

Skyla01 · 01/08/2019 18:11

Hi ladies. I've been kinda following smep this month. Currently 8dpo. Got to wait it out and see if AF shows next week. Fibgete crossed!

Skyla01 · 01/08/2019 18:12

Fingers!!

Fontofnoknowledge · 01/08/2019 18:38

I have just read the entire thread and felt I needed to post.

I am now 59 yrs old.. but remember the anxiety of ttc so well.. it's horrible.

I tried for 6.5 yrs... 3 chemicals and 2 mmc.. and now at my eldest has just graduated, my middle arrived without trying and my third as a total surprise.

Please don't give up hope. All I can say to the 'trick' was to try and chill out. Much was said than done. We went to a fertility doc specialist who said (and showed us) DH lazy sperm. ..

I decided it wasn't going to happen until we tried ixci.. at that point we stopped dtd for babies but just for the fun of it ... which we had all but forgotten about. Went on holiday, stopped 'ttc' .. a few months later we had our first appointment. Followed by basic blood tests.
Dr phoned the following day saying he couldn't recommend us for fertility treatment because.. I was already pregnant .
It's an awful, debilitating headgame . I had a normal pregnancy and was really enjoying my daughter. Never imagined we would be so lucky again and then .. without trying along cane my son..
Fast forward 7 years !! No contraception... no 'trying'.. and one more daughter...

(I was quite old by that point !) ..

I just want to give everyone hope. The mind seems to play an huge part in this .
Good luck to you all ..
(I won't even start to tell you about my 44 yr old friend who tried for 22 yrs , adopted a 11 month old and then fell pregnant with twins 2 months later ..)

Sunshine8888 · 02/08/2019 12:52

Hope SMEP has been successful @Skyla01, keep us updated. I think I’m around 1DPO and heading into the TWW as had ovulation signs yesterday but will keep an eye on CM for next few days ... if I did ovulate yesterday that gives me hope that this cycle will be shorter than the last (45 days) as it’s exactly one month from last ovulation.

Skyla01 · 02/08/2019 22:26

@Sunshine8888 I will let you know! Based on opk I'm also in for a shorter cycle this time (40 days vs 44 last cycle), so sound similar to you! Good that things are moving in the right direction for us!

blackfriars · 19/08/2019 14:59

I know we haven't used this thread in a while, but felt like I should come back and report I got my BFP today! This was cycle 8. I had to take a bit of a break from the TTC board as I was just obsessing about everything so much, and was even thinking if this month wasn't our month maybe we'd take a month or two off. ANYWAY, AF was due on Friday, DH wanted to hold off taking a test for a few days as we were so disappointed last time I was late (on our honeymoon) and it was a BFN, but I went and got a test on my way in to work this morning and the second line literally came up within seconds. All feels very surreal right now, but excited to get home and tell DH tonight!

How is everyone else doing? xx

@blackfriars that is brilliant news! I had wondered how you were getting on... Wishing you a wonderful 9 months and beyond!

I am on to cycle 4. Trying smep again. My cycles are still long but trying to keep positive thoughts flowing.

blackfriars · 19/08/2019 15:44

Thanks so much @Skyla01! I think SMEP was what worked for us in the end. I've got my fingers crossed for you x

Sunshine8888 · 19/08/2019 21:00

Huge congrats @blackfriars, that’s such lovely news. Did you have any symptoms? Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months x

@Skyla01 think I’m on for my second long cycle ☹️ Last one 45 days. Currently on CD33 and pretty sure I only just ovulated over the weekend ... not tracking but had EWCM and now really sore boobs and sharp pains down there! Bought some OPKs for next cycle. Hope SMEP works for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

blackfriars · 20/08/2019 09:44

Thanks @Sunshine8888! Only symptoms were sore boobs, but nothing very different from what I usually get pre-AF. I've been quite crampy so kept expecting AF tbh!

Fingers crossed for you too.

Also I accidentally bought a box of Clear Blue ovulation sticks (also comes with two pregnancy tests) that don't fit my monitor. Does anybody have the advanced monitor (it's the square one: www.amazon.co.uk/Clearblue-Advanced-Fertility-Monitor-Screen/dp/B00H4Y9EW0)?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 If so happy to send you the sticks! If not I'll stick on the general board. I've opened the box so can't return them! xx

@blackfriars congratulations 😍😍😍 that's fab news. Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months xx

I've not been on the boards either, only popped on now and then to see if there were any updates here! I'm on cd 6 and I think we are on cycle 8? We will be camping whilst I'm ovulating this month so no chance of us ttc this month! 😂😂
I'm all a bit meh about ttc at the mo and taking the approach of it will happen if it's meant to. I'm just over obsessing about it.

Hope everyone else is ok. Z

Skyla01 · 20/08/2019 19:17

@Peachyx2505 good to hear from you! Sorry you've had no luck yet. It's so hard to ttc without becoming obsessed. It sounds like you've found the middle ground where it isn't taking over everything. I hope that works for you. Wishing everyone BFPs soon xx

Sunshine8888 · 20/08/2019 21:28

@Skyla01 are your cycles settling down a bit now? Do you have any tips for me? I’m really struggling with not knowing what’s going on ☹️ Just to recap I came off the pill 1 June and it then took 45 days to get a natural period. I’m on CD34 of cycle 2 now and still waiting

Skyla01 · 21/08/2019 08:07

@Sunshine8888 I'm afraid my only advice is to be patient! Frustrating as that is to hear. My cycles have gone 57, 44 then 37 days so all seems to be heading in the right direction. Hopefully it will for you too. Remember if you are ovulating you can still become pregnant, so keep trying.

I found using opks very helpful to know what my cycle is doing. But it's frustrating with long cycles and easy to become obsessed. I hated the not knowing what my body was doing though.

I've seen women on here without a period for many months after the pill. So we aren't doing too bad! Just have to wait I'm afraid.

Sunshine8888 · 21/08/2019 08:16

Thanks @Skyla01. I’m already obsessing unfortunately. Just find myself on here all the time and googling looking for answers that aren’t there ☹️ So worried I’m not ovulating or going to get a second period. Thank you for taking the time to reply x

Skyla01 · 21/08/2019 15:00

@Sunshine8888 it will come. I would try and relax about it all (easier said than done). Ttc can take over your life if you let it.
