Anyone else right at the start of a new cycle? I could do with some cycle buddies.

I'm 32, cycle 5 and TTC first baby. Regular cycles of 27/28 days.

Feeling bummed today - I really thought this month could be our month after all the DTD! Had my first TTC cry yesterday. Is that pathetic after just 5 months?!

@blackfriars feeling better overall but still not keen on attending the get together! I honestly have no idea.. it's a cruel irony. I know what you mean, that's why I've taken a step back from the temping etc. It was driving me insane! Fingers crossed you get some clarity soon 🤞🏻

Dweebette · 17/06/2019 07:51

If this is just AF playing tricks on me she's an absolute witch. I feel awful today. I go to the gym most mornings and this morning's session wasn't even tough and I feel like I could throw up. Plus it feels like someone has taken razors to my nipples. I actually cried tears trying to get dried. Think ill pick up some tests this evening and if she doesn't make her appearance tomorrow I'll test on Wednesday morning. Don't know how much more of this I can take if it's a BFN, not fair to feel so miserable for nothing Sad

Can I join ladies

Age: 28
TTC: #1
Cycle: #6
CD: 10

Getting frustrated now we are DTD every other day throughout my whole cycle so we aren’t missing the window. Cycles are currently about 30 days. Think I’ll try my OPKs this month to see if I’m ovulation for. I got the strips off amazon for cheap are they any good?

Wishing56 · 17/06/2019 08:27

@whatsthecraic91 welcome! I used the cheap OPKs from amazon called One Step. Took one a day until the line was getting stronger and then started doing two.
Always best to do them same time of day each day and dont use FMU.

whatsthecraic91 · 17/06/2019 08:40

@wishing56 yes that’s the same ones I bought then! I think I’ll start using them today as my Flo app has predicted Sunday as my ovulation day. I read it’s best to do them late afternoon and not to drink for a couple of hours before hand? I’ll do them as soon as I get in from work about 5.30.

How are you getting on? I read back on the thread a bit and saw you got a BFP! Congratulations how are you feeling

Peachyx2505 · 17/06/2019 10:20

AF arrived here..... not surprised 🙄 I think we are heading into cycle 6. I did have a short cycle this month tho 29 days instead of the average 31. This meant timing was deffo off as ov' fell on my weekend of nights helpfully.... I don't think I will temp/opk again. Tbh I can't be arsed.

MIL is home from the hospice and is looking frailer by the day. It sounds awful but I wish it was over for her, she's suffered too much now 😢

Hope everyone is doing ok. I will keep popping back for hopefully some more bfps 🤞xx

blackfriars · 17/06/2019 14:45

Argh sorry to hear that @Peachyx2505 - on to the next cycle. Hope you're ok. Hope your MIL is as ok as can be expected too, and that you guys are holding up. The situation sounds really really tough xx

@blackfriars thank you lovely xx

Skyla01 · 17/06/2019 16:50

@Dweebette I think testing on Wednesday is a good idea. Sounds like you are having some horrible symptoms- I hope they mean something!

@Peachyx2505 that all sounds really tough. Hope things don't drag out too much longer. Having home stress must make ttc business so much harder. And it doesn't help at all if you night shift.

@whatsthecraic91 welcome! Good effort on DTD all cycle long. Definitely a comprehensive approach. Probably a good idea but not such I have the stamina! Might try every 3rd night next cycle. Think I will try one step opk next cycle too. At least they are cheap! If I struggle to interpret them I'll move up to clear blue.

@blackfriars have fingers crossed for you! Either way it's always good to know. My 1st cycle off the pill was 57 days. Looks like I might be headed for another long one. Guess I'll do a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks if no signs meantime.

Louise190 · 17/06/2019 17:37

@Dweebette I'm sorry you're feeling so terrible. It's cruel isn't it! I've got my fingers crossed that you're not going through this for no reason!

Welcome @whatsthecraic91 I got some OneStep OPKs from Amazon also, as have a lot of people I believe, and they work!

Sorry to hear about AF @Peachyx2505 I've given up temping also so save my sanity! I might still OPK in a few days though. I'm sorry to hear about MIL also. It doesn't sound terrible, you don't want her to be in pain any more. Love and hugs to you and your family!

Dweebette · 17/06/2019 22:24

Welcome @whatsthecraic91

@Peachyx2505 sorry you're out this cycle and sorry for everything you're going through, it's so tough watching someone you love like that. Fingers crossed for a peaceful passing for your MIL.

Thanks everyone for your sympathy. Still in agony with my boobs and really really nauseated this evening, no cramps which is weird. Actually admitted out loud to DH earlier that I'm getting my hopes up, he's the more level headed of us so he didn't let it phase him. I've decided to hold off until Thursday before testing, I want to know either way before the weekend (wine!) but I'm so scared of a BFN so giving AF an extra 2 days to make her appearance. Almost feel like now I've said it out loud I've jinxed it (even though I don't think there's anything to jinx!)

Skyla01 · 18/06/2019 07:58

@Dweebette it definitely sounds like you have unusual symptoms this month. I can understand not wanting to get your hopes up though. Not testing too early is really sensible. Fingers crossed for you!

So my great plan to hold off until Thursday was a bust. Have been feeling absolutely rotten today and had two separate people make comments that clearly got into my head and I had myself convinced I was pregnant. BFN so clearly not, just being put through hell for nothing. I'm inconsolable so obviously it really is just AF being a witch and sending my hormones crazy Sad

Skyla01 · 18/06/2019 21:32

@dweebette really sorry about your bfn :( It did sound like you had full on hormonal symptoms this month so no wonder you thought it might be a bfp this cycle. It is only Tuesday though so wait and see if AF arrives, you could be testing too early. This ttc process really sucks some times xx

Dweebette · 18/06/2019 21:38

@Skyla01 thanks, I will wait and see but fully expect AF to come tomorrow now, she has a habit of showing up just after I test. Any update for you this cycle?

Skyla01 · 18/06/2019 22:32

@dweebette if it's any consolation I think you had good reason to suspect a bfp this month, your body is def playing tricks. I would have thought the same as you.
No news here. Cd35 I think. Would be nice to know where I stand. I've had v.sensitive nipples the last few days (like you) and about 20sec of nausea this evening. I was actually willing the nausea to get worse so I could claim it as an early pregnancy symptom. Mad, eh! Apart from that I don't "feel pregnant" at all so partly waiting for AF to appear (whenever that will be) so I can get on with a new cycle. Think I'll try opk next time to help pinpoint ovulation.

Dweebette · 19/06/2019 05:31

@Skyla01 long cycles are the worst, I feel your pain! I'm CD37 now and still feel absolutely rubbish. Just have to accept I'm going to feel like this until AF arrives I think! Will be interested to hear how the OPK goes, I had no luck at all but now wondering if I have up too soon and missed it and my timing was just totally off.

blackfriars · 19/06/2019 07:05

Argh @Dweebette I'm really sorry - I totally get why you had your hopes up. Also really unfair that you've been feeling so rubbish for no reason!

AF arrived today - CD35. Starting with some spotting at dinner last night which totally ruined a lovely dinner with DH as I couldnt help but cry. I'm so pissed off with this whole drama for making me so emotional on our holiday, and literally zero idea wtf has been up with this weird long cycle, but there you go.

Keen to keep in touch for the next cycle! Xx

Skyla01 · 19/06/2019 08:17

@blackfriars sorry that af appeared during dinner. You've had a tough ttc week. Plus Hormones are all over the place. Really hope you can move onwards to a new cycle & enjoy the rest of your holiday. Strange you had such a long cycle when you're usually regular. Bit of a curveball!

@Dweebette think I'll start with cheapo opk. I've seen onestep ones ~50 for £5. With long cycles I'll be going through a lot of them! As I've seen on here they aren't always easy to interpret but will give it a try.

Peachyx2505 · 19/06/2019 09:21

Ahhh sod it... sorry af arrive @blackfriars 😢 I hope it doesn't dampen your mood too much and that you enjoy the rest of you hols xx

I'd be keen to keep in touch too for the next cycle.... copy and pasted my deets!

I'm 32
Ttc #2
Cycle 6 here
Af/BFP due somewhere between 15th and 18th of July....!

Wannabemummy22 · 19/06/2019 10:59

This sounds like my kind of group!! CD1 today after TTC for a year. I have been positive up until this point as up until now I have been informed it's normal!! Finding family events hard as they centre around children and I end up in the bedroom crying. I've had a few tests done and nothing out of the ordinary so far which makes it even harder.

Dweebette · 19/06/2019 13:10

@blackfriars so sorry to hear that AF came and ruined your night. Good luck for a new cycle.

@Skyla01 I used the one step ones from amazon as well. I have about 15 left which I'm going to use next cycle along with temping and preseed. Giving it my all lol.

@Wannabemummy22 welcome! 100% on the family events, mine aren't so much centered around children as they are centered around people asking when we're going to have them Hmm

Skyla01 · 19/06/2019 13:19

@Wannabemummy22 those family events sound really tough! Are you using opk or temping to track cycles? I hope you get your bfp soon. I'm quite lucky that there aren't a lot of kids in my family. But most of my friends have babies so soon our get togethers will be completely kid-focussed. Hope I can get my bfp before the next one... It's hard when everyone else seems to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat!

@dweebette I think I'm going to try an opk once a day when I get home from work, then once it turns positive try testing twice a day so not to miss the surge. That's the plan anyway... easier said than done! With long cycles I think it'll be good to pinpoint ovulation a bit better. Don't have the stamina to DTD endlessly...!

Wannabemummy22 · 19/06/2019 14:01

@Dweebette I did have a response all ready if anyone asked fortunately no one did. Both our parents know we are TTC but leaving us to it which I am grateful for.

@Skyla01 I was using opk's but I found that it added more stress so I stopped to see if a more relaxed approach works.
