Anyone else right at the start of a new cycle? I could do with some cycle buddies.

I'm 32, cycle 5 and TTC first baby. Regular cycles of 27/28 days.

Feeling bummed today - I really thought this month could be our month after all the DTD! Had my first TTC cry yesterday. Is that pathetic after just 5 months?!

@Skyla01 sounds like a solid plan! I don't have the facilities in work to test during the day (the one step ones are a bit of a nuisance, have to pee in a cup, leave to bring to room temp, dip, wait) so can only test in the evening since you cant use FMU. It's likely I could have missed the surge (or maybe it didn't happen at all this cycle and that's why I'm all over the place)

Wannabemummy22 · 19/06/2019 14:20

@Dweebette I use those too and didn't realise you had to leave it to go to room temp. I have also just read somewhere that you shouldn't test first thing in the morning as if you've surged overnight it may not show in your first wee. Maybe I've been doing it wrong this whole time!

Wishing56 · 19/06/2019 14:47

@dweebette i didnt realise had to leave to room temp. They sometimes took the full 10minutes to dry.

I used them last month and just did around 6.30pm each day when got home from work. Started doing them 27/05 (4 days after AF finished) and got positive 2/6 & 3/6. Ovulated 4/6.

I watched a good youtube video on understanding the cheap ovulation tests which said how to read, when to take them and when to DTD after getting a positive. (There is a youtube video for everything lol!)

Skyla01 · 19/06/2019 14:59

That sounds like a bit of a pain! Ok to test when I'm home from work ~530pm. Probably won't manage a midday test- don't fancy trying that in the work loos...! Will give them a go and see if they help. If my cycle gets shorter might splash out on a clear blue digital for a cycle or two.

Peachyx2505 · 19/06/2019 16:14

I never leave my wee to get to room temp 😂 pee, dip, wait a lifetime for it to dry....

I may opk this month again.... Glow has a good feature that reads the opk and tells you if it's positive or not. I've been pretty lucky in that I've caught my surge when using them properly.

Hi @Wannabemummy22 fingers crossed 🤞🤞

Wannabemummy22 · 19/06/2019 16:42

Hi @Peachyx2505 thank you!

Louise190 · 19/06/2019 17:31

@Dweebette are you really supposed to wait for the wee to become room temp?! I didn't know that!

Dweebette · 19/06/2019 17:57

@Wannabemummy22 @Louise190 the instructions with the ones I got (one step from amazon) said not to use FMU and to let it come to room temperature so I did, not sure how the room temp thing impacts it though. If I get to cycle 10 with no BFP I'm going to invest in one of the clear blue kits I think. Though right now I'd be content just knowing that it happened at all nevermind when!!

@Wishing56 thanks for the tip, off to YouTube I go!!

Coming to the end of CD37 with no sign of AF at all. Symptoms have calmed down a bit too, no more razor nips (thank goodness!), no cramps and I'm not as tired. Still a touch of nausea though. I'm going to put it down to stress and just try to chill while I wait for AF then start cycle 7 full of positivity

Wannabemummy22 · 19/06/2019 18:58

@Dweebette I went to the doctors at 10 months. Even though they said I should be waiting a year they took pity on me and did tests anyway. Everything is good so far and it has made me more relaxed.

Dweebette · 19/06/2019 19:09

@Wannabemummy22 that's good that they listened my area is really underfunded and understaffed so I reckon there will be a long wait for any investigations if it comes to that. Hopefully it doesn't

Skyla01 · 19/06/2019 19:22

@Dweebette glad you are feeling better and ready to take on another cycle! The clear blue digital tests certainly sound easier to use/ read. It sounds like it might be worth for you to splash out and give them a try, even if just for one cycle. It would certainly be easier if we knew when we were ovulating!

Skyla01 · 21/06/2019 19:06

Hey ladies, just wondering how everyone is getting on? Did those late AFs arrive in the end?

Dweebette · 21/06/2019 19:40

Hey @Skyla01 no update from me, CD39, now showing as late (Flo just kept moving AF due date when I didn't come on until now). Haven't tested again but think I might have to over the weekend. I really don't feel pregnant though so I think I could be having an anovulatory cycle (does AF still come in that case?). Still getting the odd wave of nausea but nothing major and otherwise no symptoms whatsoever. What about you?

Skyla01 · 21/06/2019 21:51

@Dweebette that's odd you're having such a long cycle. And kinda cruel your body is playing tricks on you. I'm not sure about anovulatory cycles and af, I think you will still get af but it might be a few weeks late? Perhaps that is what's happened for you this month, in the absence of bfp. I agree it would still be worth testing again.

No news here. Think I am cd37. Would actually be relieved to see AF and get started on a new cycle! Like you I don't feel hopeful this cycle. Will have to wait for body to sort itself out. I might do a test too to make sure, but want to wait another week or so before wasting a stick. I'd like my next test to be the bfp so don't want to waste a test!

Dweebette · 21/06/2019 22:06

@Skyla01 I totally get that, I always imagined never taking a test that wasn't a BFP and I'm pretty good at not testing, just waiting it out, but I would really love my next one to be a BFP. I ordered some FRER from amazon this week as they were reduced. If AF doesn't make an appearance by Sunday I'll do a test

Skyla01 · 21/06/2019 22:36

I ordered a pack on 5 when I first came off the pill. Used two during the first extra long cycle. Definitely don't want to need to order another pack! Hope both of us get either bfp soon, or at least af to put us out of our misery and get started on a new cycle.

Louise190 · 22/06/2019 21:00

Ladies, I need advice. I usually get very little CM, so little that I barely even notice it. But I just had to rush to the toilet because I had a leak! It was like a white thick water texture. I get myself all in a muddle about CM, what does this mean? I am due to ovulate in a few days according to my app x

Peachyx2505 · 23/06/2019 08:34

@Louise190 it sounds like it's fertile cm.... I get that before ewcm. So basically it's a nice environment for sperm to swim in 😂 xx

Louise190 · 23/06/2019 08:43

@Peachyx2505 is it weird that I am excited about that? 😂🙈 I never get CM! 🥳

Skyla01 · 23/06/2019 18:57

@Louise190 sounds like ewcm. Did it look like raw egg white (transparent, stretchy)? It sounds like you are in the right point in the cycle for it. Get DTD! Strange you don't normally get much and this cycle- bam!

Louise190 · 23/06/2019 20:32

@Skyla01 no it was like a watery texture. I got a positive OPK today and DP has been warned!! 😂

Louise190 · 23/06/2019 20:33

@Skyla01 I know, hopefully it's a good omen!

Peachyx2505 · 24/06/2019 07:20

Yay! So you'll probably ovulate today/tomorrow or weds! 🤞🤞 @Louise190 xx

Louise190 · 24/06/2019 12:51

@Peachyx2505 weds was the apps prediction before the positive OPK, it now says today. No symptoms, cramps etc, other than a bit of a dodgy tummy which is usual around this time. My cycles are all very regular, it wasn't until TTC that I realised actually they're still quite confusing!!

Dweebette · 24/06/2019 21:13

It turns out I'm not going insane after all, just got two very strong BFPs. I can't stop shaking
