Rapunzel91 · 11/07/2018 22:25

Thought I'd start this one. This is my first bus and would love to chat with other's TTC in August.

Stats:
Age: 26
TTC number: 1!
Cycle: 1st officially TTC, although was a chance last cycle
CD: 6 of 27-29 day cycle
BFP/AF due: 2nd Augst

I'm trying to really prepare my body as much as possible for pregnancy. Trying to lose some weight and strengthen my core and back as I've got crap core and lower back muscles which worry me a bit in terms of pregnancy

@jess21690 I had signs of ov about 10 days ago I think, some CM and a darker line in OPK. I didn't pay it much attention because I know things can be all over the place after the pill and I never had a withdrawal bleed or AF.
Just got to wait a few days I guess? Don't know when to risk a test! Would be too good to be true though I think!

MonkeyOne · 22/07/2018 20:34

I'd like to join you too please!

Age 37
TTC number 1
Cycle 14ish
CD 18 of a 33-38 day cycle
AF due ish 6th August

Fingers crossed for all!

jess21690 · 22/07/2018 21:22

@daydreamdaisy sounds like perfect timing for implantation bleed so I wouldn't discount it. I'm not sure about timings for tests, I think I ovulated around Wednesday (cm changes, and also have had sore sides of my boobs ever since which I think is a sign!) I was planning on testing 14 days from weds if AF hasn't shown. You could probably test now on an early test but I personally will wait 2 weeks because I'm scared of chemical pregnancy xxx

daydreamdaisy · 23/07/2018 08:08

@jess21690 Sore boobs is a great sign! I keep prodding mine to check, they are possibly tender from repeated prodding! Grin

I think I'll wait till Wednesday and do a test then and another at the weekend for a last chance before I go on holiday and WineWineWine

organised5 · 23/07/2018 09:12

@daydreamdaisy I keep prodding mine too - what are we like 😂 I'm 5 dpo and wondering what's the soonest I can test... So impatient... Thinking of testing at 9 dpo (Friday) but that's probably still too early.

TheMagicTorch · 23/07/2018 09:25

Morning, @NoseringGirl sorry about your chemical, it's so tough. Here's hoping for a lucky August!

@LilyCat43 I'm using Conceive Plus - last cycle was the first time using it, unfortunately didn't get our BFP but going to continue use this cycle. It was quite.. 'nice' for the increased BD-ing last month! Even if it doesn't help, it can't do any harm can it! Good luck!

NoseringGirl · 23/07/2018 09:32

Thanks @TheMagicTorch ❤️ hope this will be our month!

jess21690 · 23/07/2018 09:39

@daydreamdaisy @organised5 same! My OH is like why do you keep squeezing your boobs?!

organised5 · 23/07/2018 12:19

Is anyone else going absolutely mad with symptom spotting as well?!
Exhausted - but that's probably because it's 30 bloody degrees outside
Frequent urination - but then I have drunk a lot of tea...

Aarrgghhh! The only odd one is I've been having REALLY weird dreams the last few nights which is unusual. I did read somewhere that that can be an early sign?

MidgetRed · 23/07/2018 12:34

Hi Everyone,

Can I jump on? DH and I are just ttc with our first.
Age: 28
First cycle this month, AF due in 2 weeks, so been trying like crazy! This 2WW is a nightmare.

scarlettrouge · 23/07/2018 13:37

Can I join please, af has finally arrived.

Ttc #3, first proper cycle so no idea how long it will be.
We’re going to be using smep because it only took 3 cycles with first using that method, DH is more excited about that than anything else!

TheMagicTorch · 23/07/2018 13:49

@scarlettrouge hi 🙋 I'm trying for my first - we're on cycle 5 and using SMEP the last two cycles - so it's good to hear a success story! My DP was happy about that too! Good luck x

scarlettrouge · 23/07/2018 14:16

Ds is 8 now. Married in June, started trying in August, pregnant in October! Ds #2 took a lot longer to conceive and is 3 but he’s an awkward little monkey! I’m hoping #3 will be nice and amenable!

sunshine1987 · 23/07/2018 14:30

Hi everyone, can I joint?
Age: 31
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1
DPO: 2
AF due: 2nd Aug

Driving myself potty, can't wait for these 2 weeks to be up!

GreyC · 23/07/2018 14:52

Hi everyone; when should I start using opk; AF finished yesterday/today.

I have a 24-27 day cycle and not sure if to start testing straight away or wait untill my app says..

lucyinthe · 23/07/2018 15:00

@GreyC I think CD8 onwards? Only my 2nd cycle using OPKs tho so interested to get others opinions?

Need advice myself, I'm on CD10 and had a very faint positive on OPK this morning, should I try another this evening when back from work or wait till the morning? Or just take that as positive?

DTD every day since CD5 so hoping for BFP this month, 7th cycle trying properly and over a year since I came off implant so fingers crossed 😬

sunshine1987 · 23/07/2018 15:05

@GreyC @lucyinthe I always start using OPK's CD10

As soon as I get a second visible/faint line I test a couple of times a day until I get a positive

sunshine1987 · 23/07/2018 15:07

@lucyinthe definitely don't take as positive, I sometimes get a faint line nowhere near ovulation just because, positive only when the two lines are the same colour otherwise you might be way off your ovulation date x

lucyinthe · 23/07/2018 15:45

Thanks @sunshine1987 ! I will Test again when I get home, I drink a lot of water and read that can sometimes show a negative, shall I avoid drinking anything for an hour or so before testing again?

sunshine1987 · 23/07/2018 16:13

@lucyinthe i read that you should limit the amount you drink and not go to the toilet for 2 hours before? I always test at 2pm and then when the lines start getting darker I test again at like 6. They say no later than 8pm. If the 6pm is dark then I test again at 10am the next day. It becomes so consuming! I downloaded the glow app as it stores photos so you can see them as they get darker etc

lucyinthe · 23/07/2018 16:16

@sunshine1987 I'm trying not to get totally wrapped up in it all but it's so hard isn't it! I'm using flo at the moment, will download glow now as storing the pics is really handy. Thanks xx

shelly10 · 23/07/2018 16:20

Hi Ladies!

My very first post on Mumsnet and my first time TTC so really lovely to read all of your posts on the August Bus! Sounds really exciting for everyone, and a fresh start for all of the ladies who are trying again for lots of reasons.

So, TTC baby number 1.
Age 31 and I had the implant removed after 8 years 6 weeks ago (I'm a teacher so wanted it out pre-summer holidays and I'm going on my honeymoon on Wednesday).

I'm yet to have AF, just wondered if others had this after their implant removal? I remember my cycle being pretty irregular when I was younger (pre-implant) so just waiting to see really. Pretty hard to track cycle length or CD etc until then I suppose. So just planning on DTD as much as possible during honeymoon! Really wishing everyone all of the luck! I'd love any advice you ladies have! Star

organised5 · 23/07/2018 16:28

Welcome @shelly10! I'm also 31, TTC #1 and just had my honeymoon in May 😃 where are you off to? No advice on the implant I'm afraid but best of luck! X

MidgetRed · 23/07/2018 16:29

@shelly10 Hi! I had my implant out quite a few years ago (wasn't TTC then), but I found that my cycle length about doubled (up to 52 days) before my first AF. Over the next 6 cycles it became very normal (now on a 27/28 regular cycle), but it did take a few months.
I'm on cycle 1 of TTC atm, and DTD as much as possible - I think not stressing out helps! (Although starting to miss a Wine )

TheMagicTorch · 23/07/2018 16:31

@lucyinthe I switched from Flo to Glow and found it much easier to use with more logging options Smile
