August bus

Thought I'd start this one. This is my first bus and would love to chat with other's TTC in August.

Stats:
Age: 26
TTC number: 1!
Cycle: 1st officially TTC, although was a chance last cycle
CD: 6 of 27-29 day cycle
BFP/AF due: 2nd Augst

I'm trying to really prepare my body as much as possible for pregnancy. Trying to lose some weight and strengthen my core and back as I've got crap core and lower back muscles which worry me a bit in terms of pregnancy

@MuddyElephant I started the second my period stopped this month I'm determined to know that I've done everything a possible can if I get a bfn
Also I've noticed my resting heart rate on the Fitbit replaces temping well and it's not hassle at all as I already wear it all the time x

Quick OPK question, what time of day is best to test? I've read first thing in the morning but also read afternoon time too?

Hi @lucyinthe I thought between 2pm and 10pm, feel like I've read that somewhere!

I randomly did an opk yesterday, cd11 and it was positive - my first ever! Had ovulation cramps Friday and Saturday and loads of ecwm, the most I've ever had. We dtd every other day last week and last time was Saturday, dh has gained an injury so not had chance since then. Think I've ovulate now, creamy cm today. Time will tell... :)

Has anyone experienced implantation bleeding?

I'm on CD21, 6 days post estimated ovulation and 8 days before AF due. Basically bang in the middle of the 2WW. I've just found blood today and don't know if I'm paranoid symptom spotting or if this could be implantation bleeding.

It's not "small pink or brown spots" which I've read is what implantation bleeding is like - but more a fair bit of brown CM/v dark blood (not sure which). Am I going mad or could this be...?

@lucyinthe I generally do one mid morning and one mid afternoon. I go a bit mad when they start to go dark and just do them every time I go to the loo 😳

@organised5 I had some spotting with DS2. I read something recently that spotting during the TWW is down to hormone fluctuations (same with temp dips on charts) and can happen in pregnant and non pregnant cycles. I'm not sure how much truth is in that though!

@lucyinthe - I do three! One with FMU one between 2-4pm and one just before I go to bed. Maybe slightly ott!

@organised5 - I read up on this and it seems implantation can be anything from spotting to light flow, so sounds like it could well be! Fingers crossed!

Where's everyone in their cycle? I'm cd13 today DH goes away tomorrow so hoping I get a positive OPK and we'll DTD in the morning before he goes. X

@organised5 I had implantation with DD I didn't realise thats what it was and thought it was the start of af. It was more like brown discharge, spotting than af. I normally get this for a couple of days before the red but then it just stopped and that's when I thought there's something not right here and did a test. Fingers crossed for you!

Haha! @lucyinthe I have previously bought the one step from Amazon, was about £3.50 for 30, you can wee on them to your hearts content! :) sometimes I just randomly do them just to have something to wee on (wouldn't tell anyone in real life that!)

😂😂 @VenusStarr we went on holiday at the beginning of ttc I had one OPK left so took it with me as it was my predicted day to ovulate asked for an extra cup at McDonald's on the way struggled to wee in the oversized cup and then it turned out to be a pregnancy test 🤦🏻‍♀️ obviously like any sane person I dipped it anyway 😂 x

I’m 3dpo atm and so anxious! Keep getting cramps and slight nausea in my stomach this morning- I keep thinking it’s psychological- anyone else have phantom symptoms yet?

Yes I'm driving myself crazy with phantom symptoms! I'm doing one test tomorrow and one on Sunday. DH says I'm going to essentially piss on all our money by the time we get a baby

I’ve been getting phantom symptoms too - been totally convinced during the 2ww that I’m pregnant and googled early pregnancy symptoms every day, and now only third cycle in, am coming to realise I’m just hyper aware of normal pms symptoms as a result of increased progesterone. I guess it’s so drummed in as you’re growing up that you could accidentally get pregnant by minor lapses in contraception that it takes a while to realise that it is in fact not always easy or straightforward to get pregnant!

@Bellafreud totally - I think everything I’m feeling is normal PMS but sooo heightened to it now! Only on cycle 1 - hopefully a few more cycles in and I won’t be hyper-aware!

So looks like according to the opks I peaked yesterday cd15... Does that make me dpo1 now? Just to get the chat right 😂

In terms of dtd we did cd8, 10, 13 and 15... How does that sound? What's everyone else doing? Think I might add 17 just to cover my bases 😂😂

I'm on CD11, no positive OPK yet which I thought I would because my cycles have been quite short, wanted to DTD every other day but the pressure has got to my other half the last 2 days 😭 he's finding it really difficult to be so regimented about it so I'm gonna stop talking about things for a few days, hopefully he gets his mojo back when he stops thinking about whether I'm ovulating yet!

@lucyinthe I had that same issue this month as well, we were trying to follow SMEP but all got too much for him and had a couple of occasions where couldn’t go through with it! Pressure defo doesn’t help.

Making a conscious effort from now on to make it more romantic and not just like I want him for his sperm 😂

@MidgetRed @Bellafreud I'm definitely in the same boat with symptom spotting! Had sore boobs especially at the side from 2 days post ov. Convinced I'm getting twinges in my lower tummy and today I've been lightheaded every time I stand up (7 days po) my logical brain knows its highly unlikely and this is all psychosomatic, but there's also part of me that is convinced I'm pregnant🙈 this is our first cycle, I've got to chill out because I can't go through this every month!

Hi, can I jump on? I'm 12/13dpo now, still no bfp and I've had spotting this morning so I've given up on the July bus. I'd been so hopeful after doing opk's for the first time.

Morning guys oh left this morning couldn't quite manage to DTD we had to get up at 4:30 and his Mam was picking him up at 5 to take him to the station so def to much pressure and not romantic. I'm gutted still on flashing smileys on the clear blue OPK so don't think this will be our month 😔 he's home for ovulation again (hopefully) next month and then we're gunna miss it for 6 months. Oh well the two week wait starts here for me I'm sure despite feeling certain now I'll be symptom spotting like a pro in no time 😂 good luck everyone x

@LilyCat43 - once you have the positive opk you will ovulate between 12 and 36 hours after that positive opk. Do you temp as that is a good way of seeing when you have ovulated. So then if you think you will probably ovualate today if you got your positive opk yesterday then tomorrow will likely be your 1dpo. 😄

@lucyinthe I had the same problem with DH too. I am going to try smep this cycle but I have I feeling it might be a bit much for him.

@ImpatientMammy If you're on the flashing it may still have done the trick as sperm can live for 5 days. How come you would miss it for 6 months? Sorry if you have explained this before. 🤞🏻 for you this cycle.
