TTC First Month

Hi all! I’m new to this app - my husband and I have been married for a year now (I’m 22 and he’s 24) and we’re in the process of buying our first house. We’re so ready to have children - my body is telling me constantly that it wants Kids, I know I sound crazy lol but I want nothing more than to have them. I stopped taking the pill in August and had my first period on the 8th October - this is our first month TTC. Everyone we speak to is telling us that we’re too young and aren’t ready (which really infuriates me!) but it means we can’t speak to anyone about it.... so I thought maybe I’d post on here and see if anyone is in the same boat? I’m currently on the 1ww but I just don’t think it’s going to happen this month... I’ve been taking folic acid everyday but never knew until TTC that it can be a really long process!

Is anyone in the same boat/have any tips? Sorry for the long paragraph!! X

I did 4 OPK's yesterday as well 🙈 I just don't understand why I always have some sort of line?! Aren't some meant to have no line?! I feel like I'm broken 😂😩

Hi all, I’m on cycle 1 of my first time TTC and waiting for AF due 22nd dec but decided to test on my birthday yesterday just for the craic as I’m so impatient already and it’s only Month 1! BFN unsurprisingly even though it was super early. I’ve a feeling this is going to be way more difficult than I ever imagined

I think I messed up 😩 So I took an OPK on Thursday which looked positive quite quicky, we had plans so I had to go out and left it, when I came back it still looks very positive to me (I've attached a photo of it next to the CD15 one which previously looked the 'most' positive) and it's definitely the same darkness as the control. We then didn't manage to DTD that night and I was out babysitting last night until 1am. We DTD when I got home which was about 2am this morning but that's over 24 hours since the positive OPK and don't know if I've ballsed up this month for myself 🙈

Hi everyone! My husband and I have been married for just over 2.5 years, and I came off the pill at the start of October. We had a big holiday booked so decided to still use protection until we'd come back. Have now only really been TTC (and it's more 'not trying to avoid getting pregnant' than actively trying, if that makes sense!) for about 4 weeks, I took a test this afternoon after cramps etching and it was negative

I've not had a period since stopping the pill and it's making it very difficult to calculate - not like I know when/if I've missed one!

We're intending to just take it slow and when it happens, it happens. But it's all I can think about!

Oops, that should be cramping etc not etching!

@kjhh not great... I've been at a and e overnight and I'm no longer pregnant. They didn't give me much to go off.

Things for me haven't changed, baby is 100% off the cards for us which sucks x

@kjhh oh god. I hope you're ok. Just think as it is as if you're on pause and as soon as you can get going, you'll be even more excited and knowledgable. You might even be in a better place in your life
Oh thank you. I'm fine really, had my big cries and a mini wallow. Once this period (or whatever it is) is done I'm going back to trying. Just a bump in the road and what not. I'm probably too positive a person for my own good at times. X

@kjhh I've convinced myself I've missed my dates this month. I'm still doing OPK's daily and they're getting fainter so def think I ovulated on CD19, so hoping my cycle won't be as long as the last one! Like I said pretty sure I missed my opportunity this month so next month is a new one isn't it! How are you?

Sorry for the delayed response, I've had so much going on.... but to top off a shitty weekend I GOT THE DREAM JOB 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I'm just waiting for a start date, I can't wait, I just need to move into my home and have baby dust everywhere 😂 xx

@kjhh now I'm not so sure as my OPK's seemed to be getting fainter from Thursday, until last night I got a dark one again?! I've concluded that I'm just broken 😂

Fantastic news about the job!!!! Does this mean you can start trying again soon?! Hope everything else is going well :)

@PickettBowtruckles I gave up using OPKs for that reason 😂 too hard to decipher lol!

I'm gonna wait until I've worked for a month just to make sure I can get mat pay :) so hopefully February we can start trying again 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Hello - may I join you?
First month of TTC. Due on today. Didn't use OPKs this month, DTD every day around the day I think I ovulated. Did a sneaky FRER 9 days after ovulation - negative. Assuming I'm not this month but let's see. Am on holiday so packed a spare test!

On CD32, tested on CD28 and today, both BFN so playing the wonderful waiting game again of "when will Pickett's period show up?!" Seriously frustrated, DH keeps saying so long as it's a shorter cycle than last month we're going in the right direction but no signs or symptoms yet and not feeling positive at all.

@PickettBowtruckles it's so frustrating isn't it. 😡 I had a weird period on the 10th which was like more like brown discharge (tmi sorry) - and then today I had a nice surprise 😡 that makes my last circle 36 days and this one is 44 😡 it's only got like this since I started trying 😭😭

@AyeAyeFishyPie hi! I love your patience 😂 I was testing everyday and it was driving me mad seeing all the BFNs

I've regular cycles at about 32 days in length with usually a good week of PMS symptoms and spotting. I know exactly when I ovulate because I've chatted for 5 years.
First time TTC and I'm now on day 37 with no sign of AF or PMS. I've tested 4 times over the past two weeks and BFN.
I'm over with family so I won't get to test again until tomorrow. In total limbo! 😞

I have finally drummed up the energy to get my baby making diary out (again) and start taking my vitamins. Hoping the next one sticks. Xx

@NelleB unfortunately not 😩😩 I start my new job in a couple of weeks, so I want to make sure I 100% get Mat pay (not the statutory) so we've got to wait it out...

Super upset though, someone I've known for a few years has just announced their pregnancy so once again I'm just like 🙃
