TTC First Month

Hi all! I’m new to this app - my husband and I have been married for a year now (I’m 22 and he’s 24) and we’re in the process of buying our first house. We’re so ready to have children - my body is telling me constantly that it wants Kids, I know I sound crazy lol but I want nothing more than to have them. I stopped taking the pill in August and had my first period on the 8th October - this is our first month TTC. Everyone we speak to is telling us that we’re too young and aren’t ready (which really infuriates me!) but it means we can’t speak to anyone about it.... so I thought maybe I’d post on here and see if anyone is in the same boat? I’m currently on the 1ww but I just don’t think it’s going to happen this month... I’ve been taking folic acid everyday but never knew until TTC that it can be a really long process!

Is anyone in the same boat/have any tips? Sorry for the long paragraph!! X

@PickettBowtruckles yes!! I've looked at my Flo (app I use to track AF etc) and my symptoms when I thought I was pregnant were CRAZY! You'd look at it and you'd be convinced I was pregnant 😂😂 it's killing me

That link made me chuckle.... I've mentioned it to my husband but I'm so tired - think I'm still hungover from NYE 😂 I need a long bath and sleep so BD can wait 😂

NelleB · 03/01/2018 17:48

I am so frustrated post CP, 8 days of OPKS and nothing only faint lines. Now I've got some left side ovulation pain. Just ovulate already!! Argh

cupcakesandglitter · 03/01/2018 18:16

Given OPKs aren't working well, do you think BDing every day is a good idea? I know loads of people are sceptical about everyday because of the quality of sperm but I just can't tell.... AF finished on Friday, but I have super watery CM today so I might be ovulating? I wish there was a definite way we could all know!!

NelleB · 03/01/2018 18:55

@cupcakesandglitter we have BD every other day since Boxing Day and then were due to do it fertile day and then the next... don't know if that helps x

NelleB · 03/01/2018 19:00

I'm assuming yesterday at 6 was my surge as the rest have been nothing much test wise. So we have to BD today and tomorrow according to SMEP. X

@NelleB I see what you mean about the faint lines! I'd say 6 looks like it though.... you going to keep testing? X

NelleB · 03/01/2018 19:36

@cupcakesandglitter oh thank you so much for agreeing! It's not just me (she says thinking she's a lunatic!) Last month, when we got pregnant, the line was just as good as that really. I was expecting it to be super dark but that was as good as it got.

I think I am going to continue to until day 23 of my cycle as I have a 35 day one and then give up.

I am so jealous of these one try baby makers x

cupcakesandglitter · 03/01/2018 19:39

@NelleB don't worry, I thought the same with mine 😂 I felt like there was a faint line But then thought maybe I was making it up because I wanted to see it 😂😂

Eurgh I know what you mean! I've been following where a few posts and it's "oh it was our first month TTC... we're pregnant... didn't know it was this quick..." 😩

NelleB · 03/01/2018 20:00

@cupcakesandglitter oh I am happier it's not just me haha I am like the fertile jealous monster x

cupcakesandglitter · 03/01/2018 20:01

@NelleB I'm on the same page, I feel like a horrible person for it but I can't help the jealousy 😂😩 x

PickettBowtruckles · 03/01/2018 20:14

@NelleB I def have a case of the grass is greener! My OPK's are still giving dark lines daily however another preg test this morning was negative! Convinced myself I have something wrong and we'll never conceive right now 😂🙈

cupcakesandglitter · 03/01/2018 20:22

@PickettBowtruckles you will!!! I think we're just thinking about it so much our bodies are playing with us 😩

NelleB · 03/01/2018 20:24

@PickettBowtruckles oh when is AF due?! I am excited for you.
My OPKs are not lining up with my apps 🤯 so frustrating! X

PickettBowtruckles · 03/01/2018 20:27

@cupcakesandglitter I hope so! Seriously stressing myself out with this already 🙈 Definitely our bodies playing up!

@NelleB well today is CD39, last cycle was 52 days so could be anytime! Last cycle was my first natural one since coming off contraception so was hoping this one would be a bit shorter but nothing except cramps so far! Told myself anything before CD45 would be a good enough improvement to make myself feel better but rapidly running out of time for my little target!

NelleB · 03/01/2018 20:45

Oh @PickettBowtruckles I really hope it's good news. I need somebody to fill me with hopeful pregnancy joy. Fingers crossed it's somebody on this thread! X

PickettBowtruckles · 03/01/2018 20:52

Unfortunately I don't think it's my month @NelleB

The crazy constant positive ovulation tests have me worried, I posted a thread about it a couple days ago and someone mentioned PCOS which I've never had any reason to believe I have but since then I've been frantically googling it and convincing myself it's going to make things so hard to get pregnant.

Let's hope 2018 is a fertile year for us all!

cupcakesandglitter · 03/01/2018 20:56

@PickettBowtruckles I didn't find out I had PCOS until a couple of months ago when my sister was diagnosed with it (and then my mum told me she has it, as well as my other sister) so I can understand! Its one thing after the other 😩

I'm keeping positive, it's 100% going to be our year this year👼🏼

PickettBowtruckles · 03/01/2018 21:08

@cupcakesandglitter I didn't know you had been diagnosed with it?! Did I miss that earlier on the thread? I've never worried about it but apparently continuously getting positive OPK's is a sign :(

NelleB · 03/01/2018 21:09

Oh @PickettBowtruckles and @cupcakesandglitter my sister has them had got pregnant accidentally, twice!! There is hope! X

PickettBowtruckles · 03/01/2018 21:12

Clinging onto hope! I haven't taken any of the preconception vitamins I bought this cycle as I wanted to see how long my cycle is 'naturally'. Just want AF to hurry up and arrive so we can try again! Can't believe once it has we'll already be in cycle 3 of trying 🙈

cupcakesandglitter · 03/01/2018 21:19

@PickettBowtruckles reading back through I don't think I mentioned it sorry, whirlwind last few months... but I'm with @NelleB here - my mom has it but she's had a LOT of us Kids so I'm trying not to worry about it atm...

I don't know if I'm going to bother with Pregnacare or anything like that, read on some posts that it's messed up women's cycles - and mine are all over the place since having the implant out so I don't want to make it worse x

NelleB · 03/01/2018 21:23

@cupcakesandglitter
I'm taking folic acid, vitamins C and complex b as well as cod liver oil. I was taking pregnacare but that didn't end well last month. I also read lacking vitamin b can cause CP so can't hurt to try. X

cupcakesandglitter · 03/01/2018 21:31

@NelleB I've got folic acid x what's CP?

NelleB · 03/01/2018 21:41

@cupcakesandglitter chemical pregnancy. I had one last month sadly, however hoping the next one sticks with me for 9 months x

cupcakesandglitter · 03/01/2018 22:41

@NelleB ahh okay.. hopefully! I can't wait for the day we're all pregnant!! X
