Hi all! I’m new to this app - my husband and I have been married for a year now (I’m 22 and he’s 24) and we’re in the process of buying our first house. We’re so ready to have children - my body is telling me constantly that it wants Kids, I know I sound crazy lol but I want nothing more than to have them. I stopped taking the pill in August and had my first period on the 8th October - this is our first month TTC. Everyone we speak to is telling us that we’re too young and aren’t ready (which really infuriates me!) but it means we can’t speak to anyone about it.... so I thought maybe I’d post on here and see if anyone is in the same boat? I’m currently on the 1ww but I just don’t think it’s going to happen this month... I’ve been taking folic acid everyday but never knew until TTC that it can be a really long process!

Is anyone in the same boat/have any tips? Sorry for the long paragraph!! X

@NelleB and @cupcakesandglitter let's hope there's lots of baby dust on this thread and we all get pregnant soon!

NelleB · 04/01/2018 18:00

I knew my ovulation was tomorrow!! Now we have to BD again and not sure I have it in me. Waiting until 7 for a darker line otherwise there will be no dancing. Argh the annoyance of the human body!

Yay! @NelleB I'm so pleased for you. Fingers crossed!!!

PickettBowtruckles · 04/01/2018 20:38

CD40 and another glaringly positive OPK with a negative preg test 2 days ago! Feel like I'm going crazy!

@PickettBowtruckles oh god! Have you spoken to your GP? X

PickettBowtruckles · 04/01/2018 21:33

Nope she was a complete pain last time and told me basically she doesn't want to see me back until I've been trying for a year at least because of my age!

cupcakesandglitter · 05/01/2018 10:27

@NelleB aww yay!! Hopefully this could be your month!

@PickettBowtruckles GPs are so irritating like that 😡 you can waste a whole year trying and they won't take you seriously until after

NelleB · 06/01/2018 09:36

@PickettBowtruckles have you thought about asking for a second opinion? X

PickettBowtruckles · 06/01/2018 15:35

@NelleB I think I'm going to have to. My surgery is a bit of a pain in the ass in regards to requesting (or not requesting!) certain doctors but I would like to see someone else in the hopes they'd at least have a few answers or agree to do a few tests. Every time I get a 'particularly' dark OPK we're still baby dancing just in case though!

NelleB · 06/01/2018 17:19

@PickettBowtruckles oh that's a joke Pickett. It's not like you're going in with a cold. Hopefully you will get it sorted x

PickettBowtruckles · 06/01/2018 17:23

Yep I agree @NelleB ! Mad isn't it. I really really rarely go to the doctors as well, I can count on one hand how many times I've been to the GP in the last 10 years (not including nurse check up for BC) so it's not like I'm someone there all the time trying to help so it's super frustrating when they talk down to me like I'm an idiot and tell me to come back in a year!

How's this month going for you? How many days till you can test now after knowing you did ov? Got everything crossed for you!

NelleB · 06/01/2018 20:39

Oh @PickettBowtruckles it's not even like you are abusing the system! You just want some guidance and it's not like you aren't in a stable place in life popping babies out for fun!

Well... we have to DTD again today and Monday (according to SMEP) and then I won't be testing until around 22nd/23rd as AF is due around 20th and after last month I really want to hold out until after and spare myself heartbreak. I see all these FRER recommendations everywhere and I want to scream 'No! Don't do it! Leave it until way after AF!' As I didn't and it's not worth the upset. X

cupcakesandglitter · 05/02/2018 00:53

Hi ladies, how is everyone?

I've just seen Kylie Jenner's pregnancy video and have been sobbing my heart out 😭 all I want is to be pregnant 😩

PickettBowtruckles · 05/02/2018 09:11

Hiya @cupcakesandglitter

Still no luck for me. I have a doctors appointment on the 14th as now on day 72 of my cycle and definitely not pregnant. Hoping they can help kickstart things for me!

I know the feeling, someone in my family has recently had a baby and as much as I'm happy for them it's really hard to look at all the lovely photos of this gorgeous baby boy without being crazy jealous! 😫 Our time will come, and we'll be so happy when it does!

cupcakesandglitter · 15/04/2018 13:33

@PickettBowtruckles hi Hun, how are you getting on? How was your appointment? X

PickettBowtruckles · 15/04/2018 13:44

Hey @cupcakesandglitter how are you?! Any luck for you yet?

I’m doing okay, I had an internal scan which confirmed polycystic ovaries on both sides but my blood tests were all normal so my GP ruled out PCOS and stated I had polycystic ovary appearance, she said it could make getting pregnant more difficult but it’s not PCOS.

I’m actually waiting to do a test in the morning as I’ve had the tiniest shadows on internet cheap tests the last couple of days so going to use a FRER in the morning. I don’t believe it’s a bfp just yet but trying not to get my hopes up.

minniecat2406 · 15/04/2018 16:10

Hello all. I came off the pill mid Feb but how do you know when you’ve had you’re first real period? I’ve had two three-day bleeds (tmi sorry) since, each a month apart, but I have no idea if that would be a real period or not. Reading comments here about coming off the pill and then months later getting a period has confused me! Thank you x

cupcakesandglitter · 15/04/2018 16:43

@PickettBowtruckles I'm okay, just hangig on for a couple of months to make sure I get mat pay! Oh 😩 doctors really don't help :/ omg!!!! Fingers crossed, I really really really hope this is it for you, you deserve it! Please keep me updated!! Praying for you x

@minniecat2406 hi! So I came off the pill in August, and had my first 'proper' period in October - but. I now have one period every 45 days and then one every two weeks, so I've not settled at all 😩 x

minniecat2406 · 15/04/2018 18:13

Thanks cupcakes. How did you know it was your first period though? Or was there nothing in between so to speak? X

cupcakesandglitter · 15/04/2018 19:48

@minniecat2406 I had some spotting/super light period Ish type moments, but when my actual time of the month came it was super heavy and also (sorry tmi) but bright red blood rather than super watered down if that makes sense?

PickettBowtruckles · 15/04/2018 19:54

@cupcakesandglitter thanks lovely, I’ll update in the morning :)

Leonora94 · 15/04/2018 21:54

I’ve just read this entire thread! So lovely to hear there are women out there similar age to me. I’m TTC Cycle 1 (I’m 23) been married a year but we’ve been together for 9 Shock our friends are super immature and we’d be the first out of anyone we know really. My mum had me young and I love our relationship, we’ve decided to keep quiet and not tell anyone just to avoid pressure. @PickettBowtruckles I hope you get good news! Flowers

minniecat2406 · 15/04/2018 22:32

Gotcha, thanks cupcakes! X

PickettBowtruckles · 15/04/2018 23:07

@Leonora94 very similar to us! I’m 24, married a year and 9 Years together :)

So I did another cheapy test tonight which looks pretty positive! Will still do my FRER in the morning anyway to double check.
