TTC First Month

Hi all! I’m new to this app - my husband and I have been married for a year now (I’m 22 and he’s 24) and we’re in the process of buying our first house. We’re so ready to have children - my body is telling me constantly that it wants Kids, I know I sound crazy lol but I want nothing more than to have them. I stopped taking the pill in August and had my first period on the 8th October - this is our first month TTC. Everyone we speak to is telling us that we’re too young and aren’t ready (which really infuriates me!) but it means we can’t speak to anyone about it.... so I thought maybe I’d post on here and see if anyone is in the same boat? I’m currently on the 1ww but I just don’t think it’s going to happen this month... I’ve been taking folic acid everyday but never knew until TTC that it can be a really long process!

Is anyone in the same boat/have any tips? Sorry for the long paragraph!! X

Can I join this thread please? 👋🏼

Web that’s such a nice post and so true.

I’m a bit anxious about how people from work are going to react and I’m already wondering how I’m going to answer the “Oh was it planned?!” comments. Blush

LostMyBaubles · 07/11/2017 12:29

Thank you 😁
AF has gone fx this is our month

PickettBowtruckles · 07/11/2017 12:36

I'm the youngest person in my team at work, but since I got married I've had quite a lot of people ask when I'm having a baby so I actually think work will be okay to tell! I'd just love to have something to tell them 😂

LostMyBaubles · 07/11/2017 12:37

That's good pickett

I was 17 when I fell pregnant with my first had him at 18 😀

kjhh · 07/11/2017 14:34

@NelleB @PickettBowtruckles hopefully!! I’ll keep you updated 😊😊

@webster144 thankyou for your post! I completely understand how you feel! Sorry to hear about your miscarriage though, but pray you’ll get your BFP soon! We’re going to tell people it was an accident, I do not need people to be judging us at all - we both graduated and got jobs, and have just been accepted for a mortgage so I’d say we’re not like other people our age who are drinking every weekend/all their money away! It’s definitely the right time for us both... ps I’d start planning your wedding if it’s for next year, it’s so stressful 😭😭

@anewjourney hi! It’s so nice to see so many girls in the same boat - I wouldn’t even worry about if people ask about whether it was planned or not, it’s not anyone else’s business but yours and your partner!

@LostMyBaubles baby dust to you!! Hopefully this is your month xxx

Thank you kj 💕
My other3 are July, Aug and Sept babies lol so hopefully our last one will follow the pattern and fit right in the middle somewhere lol

Ovia tells me 6 days until fertile window

anewjourney · 07/11/2017 15:09

KJ I’ve thought about telling people it was an accident too, but then I think “Why should we?”. It’s our lives, we’re free to do as we choose and we’re not hurting anyone. I hate the stigma of being young/not having been with a partner for years if you want a baby Envy

NelleB · 07/11/2017 15:35

@anewjourney I have been thinking about this and when it happens how to tell my boss. I won’t be saying ‘sorry, I’m pregnant, it was a slip up!’ I will not be sorry about one of the best things that can happen for a couple, something I’ve waited so long for and stressed over/planned. Everyone should be allowed their special moment, planned/unplanned x

kjhh · 07/11/2017 15:36

@LostMyBaubles omg that’s crazy 😂 I’d love to have that with my kids, summer babies too which is nice!

@anewjourney yeah same 😩 my sister in law (husband’s sister) fell pregnant this year - it was obviously planned but she told her parents it was an accident - but my in laws were SO angry! They’re over it now, but me and DH keep like dropping little jokes here and there about us having the next grandchild, and they are super against it. Keep reminding us about how our lives are over when we have kids so make the most out of it.... but like I get really irritated because people seem to say to do everything you’ve ever wanted to do; but I don’t have an endless bucket of money to go travelling and blow money on stuff I can’t afford until I have Kids. And also I don’t want that either, I’m ready to have them! I hate that people have an opinion on it because kids are such a blessing! And it’s not like they’re going to financially affect anyone else either xx

@NelleB I definitely won’t be saying sorry either! Yeah I completely agree xx

I think if anyone asks me I’m going to say something like “Wow! Do you always ask such personal questions?” and leave it at that. 😂

kjhh · 07/11/2017 19:37

@anewjourney I might steal that from you 😂😂 sick of these invasive questions!

Anyone else want to POAS every day? Forcing myself to wait until Saturday, I have no symptoms and don't even think I am but every time I pee I think about taking a test 🙈

LostMyBaubles · 07/11/2017 21:43

Pickett I took an opk into The bathroom

Took a 'rain' check and was still passing a bit of blood lol
No point in using test today!

anewjourney · 07/11/2017 22:22

Does anyone else feel nervous as well as excited or is that just me? Blush I keep worrying that because I’m also scared about becoming a mum it means I’m not ready?

I’m SO excited but I’m also worried I won’t cope, it won’t be how I thought it would be etc.

kjhh · 07/11/2017 23:37

@PickettBowtruckles I’ve done a test every day for the last ten days lol they’re all negative too! I’m so impatient!

@anewjourney yes!! But I feel like that’s a given though, I’d love to be pregnant even if it meant I was super nervous 😂😂😂😂😂

LostMyBaubles · 08/11/2017 06:26

Amewjourney don't worry, it's part of parcel and all normal
Ttc out 4th and I feel the same way

anewjourney · 08/11/2017 07:55

Kj and Lost Ok, thank God 😂

LostMyBaubles · 09/11/2017 20:29

How is everyone getting on

anewjourney · 09/11/2017 20:33

I have a stinking cold but managed to DTD last night haha.

Hard to feel excited about it when I feel so shit in myself but hoping it’ll go soon!

When is everyone testing? AF is due the 22nd for me

kjhh · 09/11/2017 23:38

@anewjourney the things we go through eh! I will make any time to DTD 😂

@LostMyBaubles I’m losing my mind! Sorry for TMI but I have this weird thin browny discharge but this NEVER happens before AF only ever after at the end?? I have no PMS symptoms and don’t feel like AF is coming (no bloat, no swollen boobs) so I’m literally going crazy!!! I’m thinking of popping to an umbrella clinic tomorrow to ask if they can do a blood test? I just need to know 😩😩 you? Xx

OP posts:
NelleB · 10/11/2017 12:18

@kjhh AF has now arrived! I couldn’t be happier 😂
I hope everyone’s week is going well! Babies here we come x

kjhh · 10/11/2017 13:18

@NelleB lucky, onto the next month for you - hopefully this is your month!

So I went to the clinic today and told them what’s going on and apparently it’s too early to tell? She said it takes three weeks from ov to show on a test... so irritating!! The nurse said she had negative tests for 11 weeks 😂😂 I give up!

OP posts:
PickettBowtruckles · 10/11/2017 14:54

Still NOTHING from me. Thought I felt a twinge yesterday that could be AF but nope, no period, no BFP (though will test again tomorrow to make sure 😂) and a thoroughly pissed off me.

FirstMumToBe · 10/11/2017 15:16

Me and my other half weren't TTC, but wasn't too bothered if it did or didn't happen so we weren't using contraception. I stopped taking the pill after Christmas due to it not having a good effect on my body and got pregnant around the end of June!!
I'm happy with the way we did it because I didn't get too worked up or stressed when my period did come, and it was a nice surprise when my period was eventually late!

Got my 20 week scan next week and I can honestly say I wouldn't be able to cope without my family's support throughout the whole pregnancy, as I'm only 20 but my OH is 30 and it's what we needed. Although a shock at first for me, my family were more than happy when they knew it was a decision I hadn't taken lightly!

Good luck and keep trying!!! xx
