Hi all! I’m new to this app - my husband and I have been married for a year now (I’m 22 and he’s 24) and we’re in the process of buying our first house. We’re so ready to have children - my body is telling me constantly that it wants Kids, I know I sound crazy lol but I want nothing more than to have them. I stopped taking the pill in August and had my first period on the 8th October - this is our first month TTC. Everyone we speak to is telling us that we’re too young and aren’t ready (which really infuriates me!) but it means we can’t speak to anyone about it.... so I thought maybe I’d post on here and see if anyone is in the same boat? I’m currently on the 1ww but I just don’t think it’s going to happen this month... I’ve been taking folic acid everyday but never knew until TTC that it can be a really long process!

Is anyone in the same boat/have any tips? Sorry for the long paragraph!! X

Hi I just wanted to join the chat.

This is our first month TTC. I'm 29 and he's 30, we've been married 3 years and been together 10. We don't own our own house yet but have been saving for a while (we live in a married quarter as hes military).

For a very long time I was convinced I didn't want children, he deployed in July and pretty much overnight everything changed. I came off my pill (cerelle) last week and we've just been messing around a little bit and not pushing anything too seriously as he is still (understandably) a little unsure with my change of plans. I've started taking folic acid and have bought some OPKs but I haven't had my withdrawal bleed yet. Its been 7 days since I stopped my pill and I've been on it for 13 years so I wonder if my system has shut down....

My sister has two beautiful boys and a little girl due in the next few weeks so I'm surrounded by little ones.

Please don't think me arrogant or like I'm making a mockery as it's only been a week since I've stopped taking the pill but although I have a lot of family and friends nearby, I haven't really anyone to chat about this with, I'm concerned as we've left it a bit late to start we might struggle so I don't want to tell anyone we're trying and end up in heartache.

@PickettBowtruckles my cold has lifted 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 here comes a BFP I hope.
I hope you're feeling better! X

NelleB · 27/11/2017 19:49

@CRZ1988 I wouldn't worry! You know how you feel and that's that. My sister, also a 1988'er, was exactly the same and now I am trying to conceive she's been talking about her own children more and more. People change with age and life. X

PickettBowtruckles · 27/11/2017 19:58

Yay to no cold @NelleB - Let the babydancing commence! I ordered a pack of OPK's today so here's to a better planned month. C'mon December BFP's for us all!

NelleB · 27/11/2017 20:06

@PickettBowtruckles YES!! Let's all start 2018 pregnant! Hooray!
I have some ebay cheap ones, apparently 2-2:30 is the time to do it. Slap bang in the middle of the afternoon at work... 😂 x

PickettBowtruckles · 27/11/2017 20:10

@NelleB Ah you're kidding? 😂 I started a thread earlier asking about them as I wasn't sure when was best to use! I just got cheapy amazon ones too, but 2:30 is not going to be a helpful time to use them. I drive a fair bit for work, sometimes am in the office and sometimes work from home but there's no pattern to it so I wouldn't necessarily know what I'm doing one week to the next and the likelihood of always being able to do the same time (unless it's first or last thing) is low. Let's hope for the best anyway 😂

NelleB · 27/11/2017 20:32

@PickettBowtruckles well that's what I've read on google (reliable) and don't do it first thing as the special hormone (I have no idea how to spell it) takes 4-6 hours to show in urine so I think any time after lunch would have some impact personally. I don't have a break in the afternoon until the end of the day. I think the Ovia app was helpful with information, thinking about it. X

ImpatientMammy · 27/11/2017 21:40

Hi everyone just wanted to join you all Im 25 i have a little boy already. Coil removal tomorrow after it appearing to be lost for the last three month so I’m becoming impatient before it’s even began!! I was blessed with a surprise first time around so I’m new to all this. I had a quick scan through to catch up has there been any BFP’s that I’ve missed? X

NelleB · 28/11/2017 11:33

When you realise you aren't a dried up old maid 😂 sorry this is the first positive thing I've had during the ttc phase! Yipee
@PickettBowtruckles I did mine about 11:15. Couldn't cope with 2:30 business. I am going to do one around the same time tomorrow too. X

PickettBowtruckles · 28/11/2017 11:54

I think it'd be easier if I could just pee on a stick but the ones I've got you have to dip so can't be carrying a piss pot round work with me 😂 Yay for you though @NelleB I am feeling some positive vibes this month!

NelleB · 28/11/2017 16:09

@PickettBowtruckles Pickett I have ones with a pipette like this is biology class circa 2003... I also have a wee cup. The joys of all of this though, I've found my excitement again. Here's to lots of positives and the best Christmas presents x

ImpatientMammy · 28/11/2017 16:28

Ahhh yay @NelleB I’m using eBay cheapo ones but work nights so don’t have to worry about doing them at work not sure when they’d advise though 🤔
My coil was successfully removed today 😆😆 4th time lucky x

ImpatientMammy · 28/11/2017 16:29

Oh I forgot to say how do we post using the app I’ve had to come on the website as I couldn’t work it out x

NelleB · 28/11/2017 17:11

I use the app, if you click the section saying 'I'm on' that will bring you to your current chats @ImpatientMammy so glad about your coil. Sounds painful! X

ImpatientMammy · 28/11/2017 18:04

Just testing to see if this works?

ImpatientMammy · 28/11/2017 18:05

Ahhh yay thank you it was with it saying new post at the top I was worried I'd be starting a thread x

PickettBowtruckles · 30/11/2017 08:30

Well my doctors appointment was a waste of time! All she did was say "but you're 24!" at me several times and say it was fine. I said I know that but I was concerned with 50+ day cycles and she basically laughed me out the room and said to come back in a year if my periods hadn't settled!!! I truly think had I been 35 I would've got a very different response from her Angry

NelleB · 30/11/2017 11:57

@PickettBowtruckles go for a second opinion and tell them you felt unsupported. Age is irrelevant you just want help. I went, at 30, 2 weeks ago and my doctor was very helpful. Commented on the correct vitamins to take, best things to help me as I have other health issues. Very supportive of the entire process and didn't say 'God you've left it late haven't you' like some friends 😡

ImpatientMammy · 30/11/2017 12:58

@PickettBowtruckles maybe if your drs no help you could try the family planning. Though it's a horrendous waiting time x

kjhh · 30/11/2017 14:30

Hi ladies!! Sorry I've been MIA recently I've been super super busy.... we're not trying at the minute- and my sister in law has given birth today 😩 I feel like crap 😩

@PickettBowtruckles doctors are so ridiculous! Age doesn't make a difference, it's so irritating isn't it!

How is everyone getting on with OPKs? I bought some cheap paper ones from Poundland and gave up trying with them because they were negative too 😂😂 x

OP posts:
ImpatientMammy · 30/11/2017 18:25

@kjhh mine are negative but seem to be getting darker. I have no idea weather I missed ovulation or not so clinging to this as a good sign that it's coming soon rather than missed it. Congrats on the new baby just remember you'll be next ☺️ what made you put a pause on trying? X

kjhh · 30/11/2017 18:28

@ImpatientMammy I've read people that have done at least three tests a day, and only one is positive 😂 darker sounds like a good sign, fingers crossed for you!!

And I've had a health problem come up that I may need surgery for urgently, add that with the stress of not having a job atm and trying to make sure we don't lose out on the house.... I don't think my body would let me get pregnant 😂😂 x

OP posts:
ImpatientMammy · 30/11/2017 19:16

Awww bless you well I hope it happens quick for you when your life's ready to let you try again and I hope your surgery runs smoothly. I always say that once that BFP actually happens we'll know the reason it was meant to be at that time x

NelleB · 30/11/2017 20:50

@kjhh how are you? I hope things are better! My OPKs don't match up with my apps... having a stressful time really with it. I am assuming my Wednesday one shows ovulation. I've done more but they're similar to today and Tuesday... x

ImpatientMammy · 30/11/2017 21:30

@NelleB ok so you positive LH surge on Wednesday shows you could ovulate anytime within 36 hours from that. Does that make sense or correlate any better with your app? X
