Hey caution apart from needing to pee all the time not much lol! I felt a bit more bloated to begin with but getting used to it now :)

Great news shoes

HopingForALittleOne · 21/01/2017 19:17

Good luck miri it's funny how people suggest adoption without actually thinking the suggestion through. I'm single and I can't imagine they would ever suggest it to a couple xx

pickle162 · 21/01/2017 19:35

Yeh and I don't know why they think adoption is any less stressful or a mission to make happen.
I want one of my own probably just as much as I actually want one

kwick · 21/01/2017 19:50

OMG If I drank that much water hoping I would constantly be in the loo - now it is just every hour Shock

You are amazeballs miri an inspiration kicking cancer up the arse!

Need to go to table for dinner - back soon

Me too pickle I get excited about getting pregnant and growing a little person ( feel free to remind me of this when I'm pregnant with piles, swollen ankles and a weak bladder hehe)

pickle162 · 21/01/2017 20:03

Lol 😂 yeh same!!! I'm already looking into back supports as I have lumbar lordosis so curvey spine which no doubt will struggle but all worth it Grin

kwick · 21/01/2017 20:23

This is fantastic news about you and littleshoes Grin what a relief!!!

I was feeling like I was picking up a lurgy yesterday but had a hot drink with honeycomb in it, slept well and feeling ok today.

I have scoliosis pickle and bad hips and knees. My osteopath seemed to think that my body would be fine through the pregnancy- this often happens as we are geared to nurturing the baby.

No cramping again... still feeling anxious but not much I can do except keep thinking I am preggers and taking care of kwicklet through rest, food and exercise. My mum keeps on producing lovely pulse based dishes - which are fab both from a fertility perspective but also for weight loss/control.

I suffer with sciatica and had back surgery five years ago as a disc slipped out at bottom of back. I'm a bit worried what will happen when I get pregnant al have been doing strengthening exercises. I posted on here though and one woman reassured me she had sciatica and had an ok pregnancy. tBH it will be worth it for a little one :)

pickle162 · 21/01/2017 21:28

Hot drink with honeycomb that's sounds AMAZING!!! I had hot lemon, ginger and honey earlier and now having hot kir royal :)
Ditto kwick I'm falling apart at 32
Your mum sounds lovely, glad she is looking after you. Hopefully the scan will be able to put your mind at rest a bit next week xx
My mum phoned and said she wants to go away with everyone end of July time for her 60th,hoping she doesn't want to go abroad as won't be able to fly if not in second trimester!!!! (Still don't want to have to tell her tho!)

Latenightreader · 21/01/2017 22:04

Oh shoes that's fantastic - I've checked back a few times today hoping for an update!

INeedNewShoes · 22/01/2017 02:49

Pilates! To anyone with back or joint issues.

Just saying that while I remember. I'll say more when it's not the middle of the night Smile

MiriAmmerman · 22/01/2017 08:18

Brilliant news shoes - so pleased! Glad you're looking after yourself too kwick; fingers crossed for the next scan.

Karendvm · 22/01/2017 11:56

Glad everything is going well shoes!

CautionHormone · 22/01/2017 16:37

That's excellent news shoes! I'm so glad she checked everything else out too - you must be so relieved. littleshoes is obviously growing nicely!

Glad you're feeling better kwick - sounds like you managed nip it in the bud before it starts! Is your scan on Tuesday?

pickle, keep going with the hot lemon, ginger & honey and you should be feeling better real soon 😘

I too have back issues, and sometimes wonder how I'll cope during pregnancy. My L5/S1 disc is degenerating, and I went to the pain clinic just two weeks ago (GP's suggestion as it's been on going for 5/6 years and he's done nothing about it!) and the dr said it's "unstable and quite bad for my age" as I'm only 25... He's suggested lots of physio & steroid injections - has anyone had the injections and had success with them? That's why losing weight is so difficult for me sometimes; because I get stuck in bed and can't move!

witchmountain · 22/01/2017 18:02

Glad your scan went well Shoes.

Caution what a pain, literally, about your back. I think back pain and head pain are the worst kinds because it's difficult to even exist when something so fundamental hurts. My fried has a degenerative back thing too and doing physio exercises seems to have got her to a point where she can exercise and enjoy life with only very occasional flare ups.

Snork I enjoyed reading your blog. I could identify with the part about it being nice to have other people excited about your plans. Weird adoption comment aside, everyone has been positive and mostly people seem really pleased for me. My mum has said the odd thing that shows she's imagining what it will be like which has been lovely, because otherwise it's just me - I guess if you're single you miss out on being excited with a partner.

CautionHormone · 22/01/2017 18:32

witch; yeah it is a pain. Limits most things I can do - although I try my damned hardest to not let it! My dr at the pain clinic said that the surgery they used to do to stabilise the back/joint where I'm having issues has been proven to be ineffective, so there's no surgical options - which I'm secretly glad about... I hate operations!
That's good to know about your friends success with physiotherapy. At least I know it works!

I've just found this. Not sure whether I believe it or not, but thought you'd all like to read it. It's about blood pressure 26wks before conception can determine the sex of your baby... Seems a bit far fetched but apparently they've got evidence!

INeedNewShoes · 22/01/2017 21:04

I've got degeneration in two lower discs in my back as well (I can't remember which ones). The pain was worst in the morning and woke me up gradually earlier and earlier every morning in agony. Getting out of bed was traumatic because moving was so painful, but then as the day went on the pain would lessen. After a few years of this I was referred by my GP for physio, had a couple of one-to-one sessions with my physio who then booked me in for six group Pilates sessions with her. I cannot tell you the difference this made! After that I signed up for local classes and go every week. It has improved my strength and fitness a huge amount and I am now pretty much free of back pain.

I cannot recommend Pilates strongly enough Grin

I'm a bit evangelical about it! I used to feel like a bit of a wreck with my painful back, osteopenia and weak ankles but Pilates has made such a difference to my strength and the way I move.

pickle162 · 22/01/2017 21:06

Did anyone watch call the midwife?

StorkAhoy · 22/01/2017 21:48

shoes me too! Totally evangelical about Pilates. I had bad luging disks in L2/3 couldn't walk with me it a limp, couldn't get up unaided, couldn't turn over in bed. (All because I was lazy, overweight and let me abdominal muscles crumble so my back took all the strain of movement). I did 6mths of chiropractic treatment to manage the pain (I don't enjoy painkillers), then moved onto private Pilates sessions. After 6mths I had regained full movement and built a core you could bounce a penny off.

And caution, I know what you mean about pain, movement and it impacting weight loss. But if you find the right food plan (mine was slimming world) and follow it religiously you could lose a lot of weight without exercising at all (I lost 6st, just by changing to food optimisation), it takes will power, but it is totally doable.

Hi to everyone else!

StorkAhoy · 22/01/2017 21:51

Oh good grief, my typing is abysmal on this phone!

Hi all

Probably a silly question... as I'm on progesterone supplements I guess AF won't come until I stop? Is that correct?

Really trying not to symptom spot (but I've done a fair amount of googling today) but I'm feeling that twinge/stitch on and off on my left hand side above my hip bone. I'm probably making it up!! I just want this week to be over and know!!!!

Karendvm · 23/01/2017 00:26

Hi pez. When I had a bfn my period came one day late while on the pessaries. With my last bfp I miscarried while on them. From what I can tell it's different for everyone. For some it only comes when they stop them. You are going to test on Wednesday, right? Even it's it's negative, you could still get a positive. I have my fingers crossed for you.

hopingandwaiting · 23/01/2017 03:30

Hi guys!

Mr littlehoping arrived over the weekend and is absolutely perfect :)

Keep up your positivity - this really can happen!

Back when I've had enough sleep to be able to see in single vision again xx
