Fabulous news hoping!!!!! I didn't realise you were so close to term. Well done you and come back to tell us more once you find a moment Wink

Thanks karen, I hope the pessaries do help as they're such a pain (I'm using them 3 times a day) and I'm starting to get irritation from them...

witchmountain · 23/01/2017 07:07

Congratulations! I hadn't realised you were so close either!

hopingandwaiting · 23/01/2017 07:44

I don't actually think I introduced myself on this new thread - also there are 2 hopings now which makes it confusing. I guess really I should be hoped now!

Latenightreader · 23/01/2017 08:20

Many many congratulations on the arrival of littlehoping!

StorkAhoy · 23/01/2017 09:01

pez I hard the worst, longest, angriest period while still on the progesterone pessaries after my failed ivf transfer.

hoping OMG! Was he really early or have I lost sense of time?! Congrats!

StorkAhoy · 23/01/2017 09:02

*had, not hard. Although going through that with pessaries was quite challenging, yuck. Tmi, sorry!

witchmountain · 23/01/2017 09:48

Hopedandwaited!

Don't think I was confusing you with hopingforalittleone, just lost track of how far along you were!

CautionHormone · 23/01/2017 12:26

Hoping congratulations! That's amazing news! Hope all went well with labour & delivery... I didn't realise you were so close to term either!
We now have a little boy and a little girl Grin this is amazing!

Shoes, I think Pilates is definitely the way forward. The gym down the road from me that I'm at (it's an all ladies gym!) does Pilates, so I may have to go along. If it's helped you & Stork then it must be worth doing!

Stork - I'm definitely thinking about SW... I've heard so many good things about it! I've definitely lost weight, because my jeans & trousers are starting to fall down - but the scales aren't showing it, which is so frustrating! So I'm off to buy new ones Grin 😂

Pez82 · 23/01/2017 15:04

caution, that's really encouraging, keep doing what you're doing and all will be fine you'll see!

days are sooooo long at the moment and I sleep awful. 2 more hours and I'm going home and shortly after to bed! TWOT is exhausting Sad

pickle162 · 23/01/2017 18:25

Sorry your feeling bit run down pez your on the home stretch now sweetie. It's bizarre the weeks are flying by but tww seem to go on forever!!!! Just keep swimming Hun x

Pez82 · 23/01/2017 19:08

Thank you pickle, I had underestimated how hard this wait would be but you're right, I'm nearly there. 4 more days! x

CautionHormone · 23/01/2017 19:15

Thanks pez... It is encouraging, you're right! Just so annoying the scales aren't showing the same Angry I'm not giving up though, I'm in it for the long run!
Sorry you're feeling run down lovely... You're nearly there!!! The end is in sight, keep going x

kwick · 23/01/2017 19:25

Great blog snork!!

pickle I watched Call the Midwife - I had nightmares all night!

I too can advocate Pilates should practice what I preach

pez the progesterone after care always stops my AF. After stopping AF normally comes 24 hours later. I fricking hate the crinone - my fanjo is protesting!!! But still better than cyclogest or Prontogest injections. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

hoping!!!!!!!! you made a baby!!!! Please can we get a picture? CONGRATULATIONS!!!! StarStarStar

What a day!!! Had to get up at 4am to get 5.40am to Paris, on my way back now.... exhausted. Back again on Friday. The good news is one of my trips for next week and week after have been cancelled.

MiriAmmerman · 23/01/2017 19:40

Congratulations hoping! Such wonderful news.

Pez the 2ww gets a tiny bit easier (although I hope you never need to find that out Grin) DP finds that she doesn't get AF until 48-72 hrs after the last pessary.
Only 4 more sleeps.

pickle162 · 23/01/2017 20:03

Yeh it was very sad one wasn't it! :( don't like the new nun in charge either!!!!
How do u get to Paris now kwick? On train?

My dr didn't mention anything about pessaries, just injections. I think for me injections are the way forward, I don't want to stick anything up my hoohar but we'll see what happens!
Feels like an age waiting for the counsellors appointment-9days to go still 😫

HopingForALittleOne · 23/01/2017 20:45

Hoping congratulations such wonderful news!! FlowersFlowersFlowers

witchmountain · 23/01/2017 20:47

Pickle once you've had a few people rummage around up there the pessaries may seem less worrying! I only had injections though which were nowhere near as bad as I expected but I still hated them. And with one exception the internal scans were all ok too.

INeedNewShoes · 23/01/2017 20:56

Pickle - if you're anything like me (and I suspect others here) once you start treatment you will do anything that might improve your chances. I've been very determined (read obsessive)!

I haven't watched Sunday's call the midwife yet. If I can stay awake I'll watch it when I get home this evening.

My commute in both directions has taken so long today that I've just treated myself to fish and chips in a cafe near the station I'm now commuting from/to. Just a 40-minute drive to do now!

Hope your journey home has been ok Kwick!

kwick · 23/01/2017 21:01

pickle I wanted to slap new nun!!!!
I get the Eurostar - not allowed to fly at the moment. My meeting was out by the airport - but Gare du Nord is nearer to Charles de Gaulle airport than Heathrow is to my house.

Not all clinics do the post treatment progesterone (I do not think shoes did). The Crinone gel is very easy to apply - in a thin plastic tube. The clumping (which I rarely get) and itchiness are not so great.

witch did you have progesterone injections? i have had to use Lentogest and Prontogest- HUGE needles and into my bum-bum or upper thigh.

Pez82 · 23/01/2017 21:23

Thanks all for your kind words. miri, you're right, it is a consolation to feel it will be easier next time if it doesn't work this month.

The pessaries were given to me as an option and as shoes says, I'm ready to try anything that can help. I'm on Utrogestan pessaries 3 times a day, they're really easy to insert and aren't too messy I guess compared to what I've read about other brands. They do create a bit of build up some days (sorry tmi) and my body doesn't deal well with panty liners but hey, this is all for a good cause.

The internal scans pickle are nothing compared to the hycosy or the IUI as they basically don't look at anything but the screen. I'd never felt so exposed as when I had my hycosy Confused but I had a good laugh explaining the situation to my best friends!

shoes hope you get home soon

pickle162 · 23/01/2017 21:23

Yeh will do anything they suggest really :) but there was no mention of it just the injections. Injections aren't a biggy for me not compared with the surgery I've just had on my thigh. Saying that the consultant seemed to tell me certain things that haven't quite panned out so who the fek knows really 😂

kwick · 23/01/2017 21:27

That is like my experience pickle. i was told in initial stages at FC "we will give you something to create the right environment for egg and sperm" I thought they just put something up there after the iui - little did I know I had to self administer!!!

pez what about the liners dont agree with you?
What with the crinone up my fanjo and the cyclogest up my jacksie after ivf I ruined all my knickers - will replace once I have a babe in arms!!!

Hi guys, been absent due to terrible grief kicking in. It really does come in waves. And I notice a brand new thread of 6 pages already. Congrats Hoping on your little man. Have you had the early scan yet Kwik? Must be coming up soon? Hope everyone else is well?

In answer to a question yonks ago, I don't have pcos. I had endometriosis but possibly my pregnancy stopped it in its tracks, also had surgery in 2015 to remove a large cyst but up until its discovery had no idea I had endo. I read the Starts with Egg book, and am being really careful about supplements because some are more for PCOS and could be potentially damaging for me. That said if endo is dormant I am just then concentrating on the low ovarian reserve, due to fact endo ate a lot of my follicles away. My right ovary is the magic one, I hope it stays that way

Stork Ahoy - its interesting that Care Fertility are not recommending Cryos. My donor was from there and really keen to have a full sibling for my dear departed baby daughter. I am not actually using Care, its my nearest as I live in Northampton, but my previous successful IVF treatment was in Bristol (where I used to live) and will try again there initially. I was impressed with their care and success rates, and although a ballache to be in Bristol for a week, the rest of the time will be downgrading and jabbing here. Altho think I need to check with their embryologists about if they are not recommending Cryos. Do you know why this is? Does it have something to do with Zika virus?
Planning on doing a round of IVF to the point of EC possibly having a scan in mid march with view to start in April, and see what my response is to stimms. If its crap, probably will just opt for donor embryos, a few months later because I really cant go through too much more heartache. Do you live in Northampton Stork? Often think it would be lovely to meet up with some of you guys, as you " get it" but sometimes I go into lurker mode because I just cant get myself focused.

It seems Pilates is a very popular activity to do,may give that a try for a bit of relaxation. Trying to get myself in a better routine and focused.
I'm also doing the sugar free Feb to try and lose my original baby weight. Found cutting out sugar made me drop weight very fast, which is quite strange because I was never a sugar nut anyway. Good luck with those who are doing Slimming World xx

witchmountain · 23/01/2017 21:50

Kwick no progesterone because I've only had egg collections and frozen the embryos - not put any back in yet. From what I can work out from these threads progesterone is to try and help the pregnancy stick?

I had follicle stimulating injections (Gonal F - no issues, into the stomach - at last an advantage of having fat to get hold of! Didn't like the smell, but otherwise ok); something to prevent ovulation (Orgalutran the first time - single dose needles into the stomach, ok but not as fine as the Gonal F ones. Cetrotide the second time which I had to mix up from powder and water before injecting which was a bit nerve-wracking); and then the trigger injection (buserlin - had to self-measure the dose but it was straightforward - also into the stomach).

So really the least traumatic injections possible - yours sound much worse - but by the end of the second cycle I was really over it. I have a huge amount of respect for those who have ploughed through cycle after cycle. I suppose it's maybe a bit different when you aren't putting them back in and thus don't have the ensuing emotional rollercoaster - for good and bad!

When the nurse showed me how to do them the first time I naively asked how far you were meant to put the needle in and she looked a bit confused for moment and said "er, all the way"! It was less stabby than I imagined though, I found if I lined them up right on a good bit of skin they sort of slid in with a bit of pressure.

witchmountain · 23/01/2017 21:52

Pickle I had surgery on a wrist and you're right, it's nowhere near as bad as that in physical terms.
