Hey shoes I echo everyone else
And hope time goes quick until Sat and all is well. Also I agree with kwick that is a long commute. My commute should take just under an hour but today was bad and took nearly two hours to get in. Is it bad I can't wait to have a year off as one of the bonuses!?!

kwick all the best tomorrow good it's in the morning so you not waiting around tomorrow. I can't believe you are 6 weeks and 2 days already.

Welcome to new friends and what a coincidence and small world you and pez same clinic same day same time more or less!

After finding out docs had forgot to send chlamydia results to FC I got them to send across this morning and I can go ahead with iui this month . No scans I just call when ovulate and then go in.

Work quite busy and I would've loved a cigarette today :( I gave up last year and lasted 5 months until my grandad died and then ended up starting again for three months I then stopped again in September but started
Again for five weeks right at end of year as work got stressful. I've given up ( again!) and been just over two weeks but today was a bit of a joke /stressful and so wanted one . I resisted but in bed and still thinking about it. I know baby so much more
Important but feels hard still sometimes ... :(

tygr · 16/01/2017 23:45

Hello again

I hope this isn't a stupid question. Has anyone tried home insemination or are you all using clinics? If so, is this because success rates are higher?

The only person I know IRL who conceived with a donor did it via home insemination. Just been on Cryos website and they deliver privately.

I went to a meditation group this evening and this was the main thought drifting in and out...

taydex · 16/01/2017 23:58

Yep, you're right, I did swan off to Italy during 2WW. On the cycle where it worked. I didn't fly during any other 2WW. And can therefore conclude that flying is good... LOL

Kwick - good luck tomorrow

Will catch up properly tomorrow, baby permitting...

G xx

kwick · 17/01/2017 07:41

hoping I thought runny eggs were ok now? Confused
I am keeping my fingers crossed for a smooth delivery.
STEP AWAY FROM THE CIGARETTES!!!

I gave up in 2011 - best thing I ever did (until having a baby of course!)

tygr if you go back on this thread (or it might be previous one) there was some chat about home insemination. I am not a big fan but what do I know?

What a shocking night! So many horrid dreams. I was very uncomfortable - my hip was playing up, boobage hurting. I am getting increasingly nervous about scan... oh well not long now. Just waiting for washing machine to finish and then I will hop in the shower.

OP posts:
taydex · 17/01/2017 08:10

Oh and vivid/weird/not very nice dreams... I had loads of them during my pregnancy (didn't really have before or after)...

MiriAmmerman · 17/01/2017 08:37

Good luck kwick Flowers everything crossed for you.
Pez that was us - sorry we held you up! The whole world really is on MN! We've just got to struggle through until 27 Jan now...

tygr Cryos do ship privately - my understanding is that it isn't technically legal in this country though - human tissues are only supposed to be imported by licensed clinics. I'm sure there are people on here who know much more than me, but that's what I thought (Danish law allows them to ship anywhere; they rely on recipients to abide by the laws of their own country). I'm certain lots of people do it but we struggled to find clear information on the legalities so we decided to go for a clinic as the position was clearer. We also felt that clinic treatment would give us the best chance of success hollow laughter

kwick · 17/01/2017 09:44

So egg sac present but scanner said too early to see anything else. Could be day of conception was not day of IUI. Have to scan again next week. At least she saw it straight away - not like my week 7 scan last time where I had to switch machines. Feel shattered. Waiting to see nurse.

OP posts:
StorkAhoy · 17/01/2017 09:58

oh Kwick what a bummer that you couldn't see more! Fingers crossed for next time! Do you have time for a nap?

tygr for me it wasn't worth the attempt. Donor sperm is not cheap if you are importing, so using a home kit and probably being all fingers and thumbs would not have worked out well. Ive heard of people contacting men online and getting their 'deposit' that way then using a home inset kit, but I'm low risk, so again that wasn't for me (shuddering at health risks...)

My wrenched neck continues to plague me!

MiriAmmerman · 17/01/2017 10:09

Sorry kwick - that's so frustrating. Fingers crossed still though; fertilisation could have occurred a day or two after your IUI though, and then there's the 5-day implantation window... At least there's an egg sac.
The wait is crucifying though isn't it Sad

kwick · 17/01/2017 10:20

stork what did you do to neck?
No time for nap - straight to work - have a lot to do today, which is good!

miri this TTC malarkey is all about waiting!!! I feel like I need to take up a new hobby to help pass the time...

OP posts:
MiriAmmerman · 17/01/2017 10:42

I know what you mean kwick - I'm such an impatient person as well. I always imagined I'd have trouble getting through the 40 weeks of a pregnancy; it never occurred to me, in my naive younger days, that it might take longer than 40 weeks to get to the start line Grin
Ideas I have considered (and dismissed) are cross-stitch, ballet classes, and applying for a new job - although any/all of the above would probably be more constructive than spending the evenings obsessively researching pushchairs/infant feeding/which tog sleeping bags babies need... Blush

Pez82 · 17/01/2017 10:55

Oh no kwick, that's so annoying. But nothing's wrong and when you go back you'll be 7 weeks pregnant, that's amazing!

Yes, miri, 27th seems such a long time away. When are you thinking of testing? I'm thinking of using a FRER next Tuesday at DPO10.

stork, my mum bought me a hot water bottle specially designed to wear around your neck as I also regularly suffer from a stiff neck and it does help (you can wear it inside a scarf at work).

I'm feeling sooooo hard to focus on work at the moment!! I'm trying really hard to plan my home extension as a way to stop myself from googling all pregnancy related topics!

StorkAhoy · 17/01/2017 11:15

I think I wrenched it while travelling. its the kind of pain that makes you feel nauseated.....

thanks for the tip pez!

MiriAmmerman · 17/01/2017 12:07

Hi Pez

In cycles 1-3 we waited for the clinic blood test, and didn't test at all at home. In cycle 4, we started testing from 11 dpo at home. We actually found that worse (every time the rest was negative, we were having long conversations along the lines of "it could be late implantation"/"what if it's low hcg and that means another ectopic"), when in the end it was just a straightforward BFN. So we're going to try to wait until the blood test on 27th if we can.

hopingandwaiting · 17/01/2017 12:08

Oh that's frustrating kwick, but I'm sure you'll be able to see the little bean next week.

Yes, apparently runny eggs are ok (as long as they have the lion stamp), but that came out about half way through my pregnancy and I haven't changed my mindset - I figures this could be my one and only, why compromise it in any way?!

Karendvm · 17/01/2017 12:09

HI all. kwick I hope your next scan goes well. I think 6 weeks can be quite early for a scan. My fingers are crossed for you. pez if you can manage it I would wait until 12dpo. I never had the will power but I also didn't get a positive before 11dpo. I hated seeing the negative tests. My stomach would drop and I'd be grumpy all morning. I do hope you get your positive! stork hope your neck feels better.

I'm probably 2 weeks away from starting my next iui cycle. Puppy is now 10 weeks old. She's pretty cute but I always forget how much work they are. Lol

INeedNewShoes · 17/01/2017 13:07

Kwick - how frustrating! It is such early days though. As you know, its perfectly possible that you will go for your scan next week and there'll be a heartbeat etc. Its just the waiting; the waiting is awful! Keep your PMA and keep busy - you seem to be good at that Smile

I have regrasped my PMA. It went AWOL yesterday but I've had words with myself. There is just no point whatsoever in me spending the next few days in a state of constant anxiety. Baby had a good kick this morning to convince me that he/she is fine regardless of amniotic fluid levels.

Stork - I'm 23+5.

Hopingandwaiting - I think they're waiting until Saturday to give the fluid levels time to rise of their own accord, but also because by then I'll be the magical 24 weeks, the point at which they are obliged to start trying to save the baby, and there are some treatment options that can be considered. Hopefully it won't come to that. I'm drinking loads of water. Apparently me being well hydrated should help - makes sense really!

The specialist is doing my scan in her lunch break on Saturday. I really have been lucky with the care I've received from our NHS but more specifically the lovely individuals who go the extra mile for their patients!

Pez - I can tell you from experience that the earlier you start testing the more insane you will become Grin I'm not saying not to test at 10dpo but if you could wait until 12dpo you'd be much more likely to get a realistic result on an FRER.

pickle162 · 17/01/2017 13:56

Sorry your test wasn't more informative kwiCK at least there is another scan next week.
Seriously I wish you guys were IRL everything is so complicated and going a bit Pete tong! Will message properly late but arghhhhhhhhh! Xx

CautionHormone · 17/01/2017 15:15

Kwick I'm sorry our scan wasn't as successful as you'd hope it'd be. It all sounds promising though - as shoes said, maintain your PMA - you do seem good at that - and you'll be fine 😘

I've lost 3.5lb - woohoo! I haven't weighed myself for a week, and stepped on the scales this morning, and I'm 3.5lb down! That's only another 3.5lb to go until I lose the weight my gynae asked me to lose, and I still have two weeks and two days... Let's see how much more I can lose Grin Wink

Pez82 · 17/01/2017 17:18

Thanks shoes, karen, and miri, I know your advice on waiting until 12DPO is valid and I trust your personal experience on this so I will try really reallyhard to wait until then, which would be next Wednesday so only 1 week Confused

karen, great to hear from you and to hear you're getting ready again

Well done caution! You can do it!!!

kwick · 17/01/2017 18:26

LOL miri I spend my evenings eating, watching crap TV and googling my due date!!! Cross stitch sounds promising - I can do that! It really ought to be swimming & yoga but am waiting for danger period to be over first.
Which tog do they need? Wink

miri wow you are strong!!!! My clinic does not do the blood test unless you have a BFP (although I heard that some patients insist on a blood test despite the BFN).

stork any chance you can have a massage/see a physio? Sounds nasty.

karen so nice to have you back. Please can we have a picture of puppy?

shoes that is the spirit! So glad you got a good kick Wink

pez I agree on waiting to at least 12dpo. But feel free to symptom spot and share your findings with us.

Great progress caution!!! The more I listen the more I learn that sugar is the enemy, the more I yearn to have an iced bun and a doughnut...

The scanner lady was happy that I was cramping every pm - she said my womble was making room. I just think it is strange it only seems to happen in the afternoon Confused

So can't get donor through my clinic as apparently they have none at the mo! 😫Been sent brightons list & they also use European sperm bank but so confused,my clinic said not to buy anything until had counsellors appointment (which booked for 2nd Feb) fine but the nurses will contact me to book appointment but already booking into mid-late Feb-fine but rather cutting it fine and difficult to then start in march if can't get to the frigging nurses if I'm at work!!!! But also said I need to have chosen donor by then.....BUT how do I know who to chose and whether they can be cmv positive or negative???? Do I not need to know what I am first before I can chose????? My head hurts so bad!!!!!

Pez82 · 17/01/2017 18:50

pickle, I'm using ESB and they're great. Check with your clinic but you can probably get 3 or 6 months membership for free, which lets you access the donors info. You can see baby pictures, family health history, personality test and so on. As other clinics, they don't have a lot of cmv- donors. I had selected mine before I got tested and still ended up picking a cmv+ when I'm in fact negative. My clinic had no issue with this and the research I did convinced to just go ahead with my preferred donor.
My order arrived in 24h and they can ship things last minute so don't worry about timing. The thing you need to do though is book a pregnancy slot at €600 but then the potion is cheaper than other places so it all works out at pretty much the same price (just over £600 per cycle if you order 3 vials)

Don't worry, you will find one that you like. It's exciting times for you, enjoy!!

kwick · 17/01/2017 19:58

pickle I remember this mad dash too - in the end it all worked out! My clinic would not allow me to use a CMV positive donor. Do you know your FC's policy on this? If you can use both you will have so much more choice. I used Cryos and then Xytex - based in USA. Price wise worked out very similar and had loads more choice. Not sure if I could use now though due to Zika.
The important thing is the ball is rolling!

kwick hope this week goes quick for you and cramping sounds like good sign

karen hello we may be doing iui around the same time I think I ovulate in around ten days.

pez good luck re holding out on testing I'm terribly impatient but reasons others have mentioned sound sensible. What testers are you going to use? I went into boots to take advantage of their 3 for 2 offer and got the first response ones that tell you positive or not with one stick and timing in another ( eg 1-2 weeks) - £12:99 for a set of two!! Surely there are cheaper sticks out there that work well ( not that I'm planning on testing loads... Honest ConfusedHmm

Maybe I need a hobby all I do is daydream about babies or read MN or google stuff about getting pregnant/ being pregnant. I even looked in wh smith for pregnancy magazines today but couldn't see any. I also seem to be surrounded by people taking about being pregnant, having babies or coming back from maternity leave and now I just smile as feel I've started journey to finally join the club
