Ttc number 2!

Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

Hi guys I'm back

Been umming and ahhing about it but I decided today life's too short & there is never a "good time" so have told DH that I want to come off the pill & start trying in early 2017 (we have been debating 2017 vs 2018 for a while). Our friends are all having kids now & I'd like ours to have friends the same age as we would probably only have one.
Question; is it possible to time it accurately (if you know everything works)? I'd need to do that because of my work..

For some people it might well be Grumpy, but in my experience it's not at all. It took two months to conceive DS and 8 months and a round of clomid this time (very early days too). Other people seem to go the other way and struggle first time but have it really easy second time. Good luck though!

So my spotting stopped at 11dpo and the test lines seem to be getting darker. I get an early scan through the clinic so that's on 9th Jan when I'll hopefully be 7+1 or 2!

Those lines look great! That's good news about the early scan.
grumpy it took 2 months for me to conceive first time and was pregnant for 12 weeks then had a missed miscarriage. Then it took 2 months to conceive my DD and one month to conceive my current pregnancy. So, I guess my point is that don't assume all is or will be ok- technically it took 7 months until I conceived a healthy pregnancy (does that make sense?) so whilst I conceived easily, it took a while to get a healthy pregnancy.

It's probably a good idea to get regular cycles going first isn't it - i don't have periods as I'm on cerazette

Hi grumpy as the others have said you really can't plan these things, I conceived my DD first cycle, currently ttc #2, conceived 5th cycle then mc'd, conceived again straight away and mc'd again and now on cycle 3 post 2nd mc so you really can never know how long it will take you. Fingers crossed it's straight forward for you!

I can't even begin to think about losing this pregnancy. It feels like it's been such a long time coming now. I'm not naive but trying to stay positive for my own sanity

grumpy I agree with everyone else, you can't really plan it. I conceived DD while on the pill then took 5 cycles for this pregnancy. Even healthy couples only have a 20% chance of pregnancy each cycle. It's not an exact science which is why it can be so frustrating!

Thanks both, I really hope so too, although when I do I think I'm just going to be terrified of losing that one too...Hopefully 2017 will be a better year!

Ok thanks guys I think my best plan is to come off pill asap then and try to see if cycles return - always used to be pretty regular around 30 days but who knows - it's been about ten years since I had a period

Talked to DH again - we have decided to aim for spring 2017 conception which means I'm off the pill as of tomorrow.. exciting!

I'm alright. Just trundling along really. Getting bigger all the time. But can still do my own shoes up etc so all good!

I'm good thanks Tuna. Lines progressed to darker test than control and I'm 4+4. It feels like I've been pregnant for ages but other than being bloated I really don't feel it. I know I didn't with DS until after 6 weeks though.

How far gone are you now? When did you start to feel pregnant?

I didn't really 'feel' pregnant for a long time. I think because I'm so busy with DS I barely have time to think about it!

I didn't have any morning sickness this time round (unlike last time!!) so I didn't really feel pregnant until about 12 weeks when I had my dating scan and it all felt more real!

Will you have an early scan?

I had one at 8 weeks. All looked fine. I still didn't really believe it though!!

Thank you, it's the 9th though haha! I've booked my midwife for straight after because I'm just trying to be as positive as possible.

Excited for you Malbec! Will it be difficult to keep it secret from family over Xmas? I would find it so tough not to get excited and spill, especially with the not drinking etc.

Congratulations on another lovely boy Tuna . Funny how we have an inkling with the gender second time around. I just knew I was having another girl just like you did with a boy!

And huge congrats to Malbec too!! Keeping everything crossed for you but it's all looking very promising!!

I'm 22 weeks now and feeling fine and normal. Don't even feel pregnant except for an enlarged tummy and lots of baby movements haha
