Ttc number 2!

Sonnet18 · 05/08/2016 20:10

Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

Aw, enjoy it. It's an exciting time! I take it this is your second baby (based on the name of the thread!) What age is your other one? X

Thanks sonnet. Yes, no 2 (forgot to say that I was a lurker!). Other lo is 13 months so if all worked out it would be a 22 month gap.

loztredders · 25/10/2016 10:09

I'm ok thanks Tuna.

I've realised that a 1 in 800 chance is actually almost the normal risk for my age so it's not actually unusual. I think it was just a shock considering my last pregnancy was such a low low risk in comparison.

And also, there's so many other conditions that a baby can be born with that aren't screened against so it seems wrong just to focus and worry over one!

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 26/10/2016 21:04

Had my NHS scan today. All went fine. No mention of Nuchal fold measurements. Is that normal? I assume I'll just get a letter to tell me some time soon?

Loz - glad you're feeling a bit better about things. I'm sure it will all be absolutely fine

Sonnet18 · 27/10/2016 07:09

Think so tuna I read it myself on the notes last time- it say 1mm or something pretty low so I googled it to see what it meant! Results came back 1 in 20000

Glad you're feeling a bit better about things loz and great that you've had your scan now tuna

I have my early scan booked for 12th November. Feels like AGES to wait!

Not sure if you're still checking in but if you are, hope you're both doing ok malbec & mrsy

HazyHazyJeans · 27/10/2016 07:29

Oops, it's PurpleHaze1- name changed!

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 27/10/2016 11:43

I didn't think of that Sonnet - I'll have a look at my paperwork when I get home from work

Fingers crossed the 12th comes round super quick for you Purple/Hazy

Hope everyone is as well as can be

Sonnet18 · 27/10/2016 19:56

I'm feeling pretty well now at 11+5 so long may it continue. I was completely "normal"- whatever that means- by 13 weeks last time so hopefully this pregnancy is just following suit. Scan next Wednesday- looking forward to officially telling everyone!

Sonnet18 · 11/11/2016 21:15

Just checking in to see how everyone is getting on! hazy did you get the private scan booked?
I'm 14 weeks today and contemplating booking my gender scan within the next few weeks. Hope everyone else is well!

OP posts:
HazyHazyJeans · 11/11/2016 21:48

Wow, 14 weeks already sonnet? That's flying in! How are you keeping?

I'm 8 weeks today and have my scan tomorrow afternoon. Very excited/apprehensive. Just hope everything's ok.

Hope everyone else is well Smile

Sonnet18 · 12/11/2016 07:11

Mostly ok. How are you feeling? Hopefully no sickness for you! Oh lovely for the scan tomorrow. Did you go with the Glasgow place? I'll be going back there in about three weeks I think for the gender scan.

OP posts:
HazyHazyJeans · 12/11/2016 20:27

I've been feeling ok thanks sonnet. I get waves of nausea but so far it hasn't been too bad. Yes I went to the Glasgow place today. Really pleased with it, thanks for the recommendation! We saw the little bean wriggling around quite happily, healthy heartbeat etc. Measuring a wee bit ahead of where I thought at 8+3 Smile

Sonnet18 · 13/11/2016 07:14

Oh glad you got on well! Yeah, the place of fine- no issues for us so I recommend them to every one! Aw, that's great you're a few days ahead! Inching closer to the 12 week scan! Which hospital are you at? The one I'm at doesn't give the gender at the 20 week scan which is why I'll be going back private in a few weeks!

loztredders · 14/11/2016 14:31

All good here! 16.5 weeks now, it's going so quick.

I have my 20 week scan 6th December so 3 weeks time! !

Glad to hear others are well too :-)

HazyHazyJeans · 14/11/2016 15:35

Wow loz that seems so far along! Glad everything is good with you Smile

sonnet I'm at forth valley. What about you? They also don't tell you the sex at the 20w scan so we'll pay to find that out as well.

Sonnet18 · 14/11/2016 17:28

I'm forth valley too! It's only 15 mins or so from where I live and I had a good experience there last time.
Glad all is going well loz. My 20 week scan is actually at 21 weeks because of Xmas so still seems ages away yet!

OP posts:
HazyHazyJeans · 14/11/2016 18:51

Ha ha! Oh my god, we're practically neighbours, that's very funny! I'm also about 15 mins from it. Had a good experience last time, got home really quickly etc & my mw was lovely. I have my booking in tomorrow although unlike last time it's just at my local GP surgery rather than the hospital. The GP surgery is more convenient anyway so that's a good change at least.

Sonnet18 · 14/11/2016 19:05

Haha! That's mad! Well I'm the north Lanarkshire side, not the Stirling/ Falkirk side...but who knows, maybe we have passed each other in the street!
Enjoy and good luck with the booking in. It's another little marker to tick off!

Hi all!

Glad to hear you're all doing well!

Funny that you two are practically neighbours! Smile

I'll be 17 weeks this Thursday and my 20 week scan is on 9th December. They do tell you the sex of the baby, so we'll be finding out then.

My money is on another boy - so exciting!!

Seeing the consultant this Thursday. Saw midwife last week. Feel like I'm forever at the GP or the hospital!!

All going well still. Feel like I've had a few flutters and nudges which is nice. But to be honest I'm so busy running around after DS that I don't have much time to think about being pregnant.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for telling your little ones about an impending arrival?

Sonnet18 · 15/11/2016 17:58

Can't help you with suggestions for telling siblings. My DD is 9 months old so she won't be officially told really!

I have my gender scan booked for 4th Dec- so excited to find out! I think another girl.

I'm the same, so busy that half the time I forget I'm pregnant! It's better that way as I was counting down the days during my first pregnancy and it seemed to last forever!

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 15/11/2016 18:18

It will be exciting to hear the sex of all the babies!

I've already gained 10lbs Sad

How are those TTC? Any news? Symptom spotting? Where is everyone in their cycle?

Sonnet18 · 23/11/2016 17:12

tuna I'm too scared to weigh myself. I feel like a monster!! I'm nearly 16 weeks and sometimes look pregnant and other times look really fat!
Anyone else going to find out the gender?

OP posts:
HazyHazyJeans · 24/11/2016 08:08

I'm only 10 weeks and have put on a few pounds already Blush I'm not too worried yet though...

We'll be finding out the baby's sex but it won't be until February I don't think. My dating scan isn't until 15th December which is another 3 weeks away! When is your next scan sonnet?

Hope everyone's doing ok Smile

loztredders · 28/11/2016 10:46

I've got my anomaly scan next week. It's come around so so quickly!!
