Ttc number 2!

Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

I'm ok thanks, just on to cycle 10 so taking longer than I expected but looking forward to having a decent break and spending time with DD over Christmas. Hoping 2017 will be my year! Smile

Hi All,

Can i join in - Currently trying for baby No 2. Oldest is 4 so rather keen now as i never wanted a big age.

Can i ask , when do you take a test? Wait til a missed period i am assuming however i am irregular, so never quite sure when that is!

Hello! We also have a 4 year old and TTC number 2. Feeling excited. TTC No 2 for us has been a decision we've had to really think about as our first son has a diagnosis for autism. It's mild and he is thriving but number two has it's risks... However, all of the positives outweigh the negatives so we're going for it! Eeeekkk... I'm 35 and for various reasons I have a few hormone issues which have taken a year to try to resolve. I had my copper coil (no hormones) removed last Friday so we've got started straight away :-) my cycle length still hasn't settled so I'm using the dreaded Ovulation Test Strips...so far, nothing but I understand that they are highly unreliable so the focus is on bedding down every other night to cover all bases lol.

user1480930113, yes..wait until a missed period...i'm the same. They can be 27 - 49 days these days (age 35 and hormones are not what they were!)...I'd buy some cheap tests from ebay and then you can test away at will! lol

Good idea on the cheap tests. I have been off contraception for 3 years but no luck so far. Only just starting to track ovulation and all that and attempting to DTD more than once a month haha!
I was overly excited this month when it showed I was ovulating so I am have a good feeling if that makes sense...don't want to get my hopes up too much but it's frustrating not knowing!

lol....I had to copy and paste it ha ha... Bless you...it's tiring it's it. TTC number one we were bonking daily but I don't have the energy this time around. Every other day is plenty!

Aw congratulations! That's lovely! I've just been congratulated by my mother in law's friend and she's commented "a boy- how lovely!"- that's nice but we didn't want (besides immediate family) to know and now I'm really a bit upset. Am I being unreasonable? I did not want people knowing the gender until WE announced it ourselves, whenever that may be!

That's annoying. Did you tell your MIL that you didn't want everyone to know? If so, then that's really crappy of her to tell people.

If not, maybe she just didn't think?

I'm glad it's another boy for lots of reasons. A bit sad that I won't have a daughter (two really is the limit for us, for a lot of reasons). I would have loved a little girl.

Oh well, I'm sure he'll be lovely. And it will be nice to have 'my boys' :)

Yes, I told her after she told my brother in law. I told her I was disappointed that we hadn't got to share our news ourselves. So, I'm not sure where the confusion is lying. I've sent her a very straightforward text and DH has phoned her to find out who else knows. He also told her I was upset... I'll get over it but it's just so thoughtless.

Oh, your little boys will be so cute together! Have you thought of any names yet?

Thank you! Not much to tell really. Think I probably ovulated on cd17 and I'm cd28 today. Have had awful insomnia for the last few days which I had with my son. Started spotting at 7dpo as per normal and my progesterone results showed it'd dropped from 5-8dpo so I was expecting AF yesterday or today so when she didn't show this morning I did a test. I actually have a consultant appointment tomorrow when I was going to beg for progesterone for my next cycle so I don't know what to do now. I'm going to just do a few more tests over the coming mornings and see whether the lines darken and the spotting stops. Then I might be able to get my hopes up!!
