Ttc number 2!

Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

DD arrived 5 days early. I'd prepared myself to go overdue as EVERYONE told me you go over with your first Hmm The day before I went into labour someone told me I'd have ages to wait as my bump was so high...

I'm not actually too bothered about what age gap we end up with but it would suit best (in terms of fitting in with other things going on in our lives) for #2 to be due no later than July next year. Mother Nature may have other ideas though!

MrsY87 · 09/08/2016 07:55

Hadn't kept up with the thread when I posted just now, oops!

DD was 5 weeks early so I think I'd be consultant led too this time Mmm. I'd have hated to go over too as I was so uncomfortable but would have preferred if we had been a bit more prepared for her early arrival!

That's really odd with your CB tests purple, hopefully it's the tests and not your cycle....fingers crossed they send you some freebies!

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 09/08/2016 07:59

Oh wow - that must have been scary malbec :(

Is it the sort of thing where it's likely to happen again?

I was consultant led for first pregnancy. Didn't make much difference at all. Just a couple of extra appointments. And two extra scans for me.

Bloody hated being pregnant first time round. But SIL was having fertility issues so I wasn't allowed to talk about the pregnancy, let alone complain about it!!!

MmmMalbec · 09/08/2016 08:07

I was really hoping for a spring baby so that's kind of going out the window. Ideally now a May or June baby so that doesn't give me much time at all haha! I've always said I didn't want a summer birthday but not much I can do really. I do want an under 3 years age gap really.

Yeah pre e was a bit shitty. Bit unexpected too as I don't have any risk factors other than it being my first pregnancy. I think I've got a higher chance of having it next time than someone who didn't have it first time but it's not as likely second time I don't think. But if you have it twice then you're more likely to have it again. But I don't want 3 kids so that's fine!!!

Why was DD early Mrs?

Why were you consultant led where? What did you hate the most?!

Bet that was a shock Purple!! Just goes to show people have no clue what they're on about though!!!

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 09/08/2016 08:15

I so wanted an April/May baby. My birthday is Jan and DS is Feb, DH is June. So would be quite nice to have another one in the middle :)

I was consultant led as I have MS. Made no difference to me though, really. Consultant was nice enough, but unless they're an MS specialist, they're unlikely to know much more about the condition than me. Which probably sounds arrogant, but I promise it's not. You have to self-advocate a lot when dealing with the NHS if you have a chronic illness. You get fobbed off a lot otherwise Shock

Welcome mrs!

Sounds like we're all early birds!!!!

MrsY87 · 09/08/2016 08:18

Malbec here's hoping we get our under 3 year age gap! But then again I think I'd be happy with any age gap now as long as we are lucky enough to have a second!

Not sure why DD was early, my waters broke and I started going into labour so they decided to deliver her, I had to have a cs as she was breach but I recovered really quickly from it. Not sure if it would mean #2 has a higher risk of being early.

The Pre e must have been scary, but good to know you will be closely monitored this time from the start.

Where my SIL was having fertility issues when I was pregnant too, made our relationship really difficult for that time but it's much better now, hope it's the same for you and your SIL?

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 09/08/2016 08:28

Mrs so glad you and SIL were able to repair the relationship.

SIL is currently pregnant. Our relationship has never gone back to how it was. She told me you couldn't tell if I was fat or pregnant when I was 5 months gone, refused to come to my baby shower (MIL refused too) and has all but ignored DS since he arrived (as has MIL).

There's no going back now really. And I'm ok with that. DS has so many people who love him dearly, the only people missing out is them. And I don't need their negative bullshit in my life Grin

MrsY87 · 09/08/2016 08:46

Sorry to hear you haven't managed to repair your relationship with your SIL where i think it helped that my SIL has since had a baby so it might be the same for you, and if not as you say they are the ones missing out on your DS!

MmmMalbec · 09/08/2016 12:27

Where, when would you be due if you conceived this cycle? End of April? Ah makes sense then, did you have a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy? I can't believe your SIL said that you to. What an absolute bitch. Fair enough she was struggling and that must be very hard etc etc, but not need to be a twat. And even worse that MIL was a dick too and they don't bother with your son Shock Angry. What does your husband say?

Mrs, yeah let's definitely hope so. I've still got quite a while before it's over 3 years, but I really would like a May or June birthday (ideally a May birthday.....!!) Was it an emergency section then or did you have a bit of time?

Yeah I'll be glad to be monitored closer. I also had a super fast labour and a retained placenta, which led to a looooot of blood loss so I'm a bit paranoid about that too. Remind me again why I want another!!!

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 09/08/2016 12:40

Mrs Maybe things will change when she has her baby. But the stubborn, slightly childish part of me, thinks "why should I be nice to her when she's only being less of a bitch because she's now got what she wanted".

Malbec If I conceived this month, EDD would be 30th April. Which I would really like. Although I guess 28th April wouldn't be bad either, which is my next Cycle's EDD.

And yes, SIL has been a bit of a bitch. I understand that fertility issues must be awful, but there was no need for her to behave like that. I was only diagnosed with MS 5 days after I found out I was pregnant. So you'd think she would just be happy for me.

Don't get me started on MIL Angry Angry

DH thinks they've been a pair of bitches. But we're both v v non-confrontational and neither of us is interested in 'having it out' with them. We just don't really see either of them anymore. We don't need the stress!

MmmMalbec · 09/08/2016 12:55

Yeah I totally get why you'd think that too. I guess it would make you the bigger person and you'd win some karma points but it definitely doesn't sound like she deserves it. Good not to rise to it though!

Yeah those due dates sound good. I don't know when I'd be due. Hang on I'll have a look....

Are you working at the minute then?

MmmMalbec · 09/08/2016 12:57

About the 7th May, which would be perfect....!!!

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 09/08/2016 13:00

Ooh Malbec that's right around my wedding anniversary! Fingers crossed for you!

Yeah... I ought to be the bigger person. But I feel so petty and irritated about it still! Hoping I'll get over it once I see the new baby

Yes - I work 3 days a week :)

PurpleHaze1 · 09/08/2016 13:16

According to ovia my EDD for me this cycle would be 29th April which is DH's birthday! DD was born a week after mine so would be quite nice Smile

I'm working 3 days a week at the moment too although I'm actually a mature student so finish work soon to go back to uni.

Currently holding in pee so I can POAS at 2 & see if there's anything on the opk yet. Today is CD18...

PurpleHaze1 · 09/08/2016 13:58

Ohhhh! Just got the darkest line yet! Hoping it might be positive if I test again later. Still worried about a short LP but at least I might at least be gearing up to ov.

How's everyone else doing?

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 09/08/2016 14:01

Ooh that's good purple! Fingers well and truly crossed for you!

I'm ok. Sick of TWW already :(

I just don't feel it this month. I just sort of feel ready to move on to next month. Like this month was a practice run :)

MmmMalbec · 09/08/2016 14:14

Ooh exciting Purple! Time to get properly busy now then!! Mine was kind of dark but not close to positive this morning. Hoping for an improvement in the next few days! Hopefully your LP will be better this month, or have a bfp obviously!!

Yeah I know what you mean where, you've got to be so lucky to get a bfp in the first month, it almost feels like it won't ever happen. BUT I know plenty of people who it did for. Especially second time so fingers crossed! Have you decided when to start testing?

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 09/08/2016 14:53

Malbec Going to start testing next Monday. Which will be 9dpo. Super early but I don't think I'll be able to help myself.

Genuinely don't think it will happen this month. But there's always a glimmer of hope :)

How about you - when are you testing?

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 09/08/2016 14:56

Hi Guys, I'm currently trying for number 2!

I've been testing since cd 9 and I'm now cd20 I've had no positive opk which is unusual unless I missed it! But I noticed my CM was egg white from cd13 to cd15 and then it changed on cd16 to no egg white. Do you think I missed ovulation?

I did the bd on cd13 and 16.

So confused! Xx

Mbear01 · 09/08/2016 15:22

Ps I have an 18 month old Ds who is so cheeky haha x

MrsY87 · 09/08/2016 17:36

Just rushing back from work to pick DD up from nursery** and typically train is late! Glad it's my work from home day tomorrow!

Malbec it was an EMCS but I knew she was breach so I felt quite prepared for it in a way despite not having packed my hospital bag! Sounds like you had a tough time, hopefully things will be smoother second time around for you.

I'm only on CD2 so think I'd have a mid May ish due date which id be quite happy with, trying not to get my hopes up though!

Ohh! Exciting purple! Hope it's the month for you!

How far though the tww are you where? I always hate the tww too!

Welcome mbear!

MrsY87 · 09/08/2016 19:05

Oh dear just saw my post was all in bold! Oops! Blush

LikeaSnowflake · 09/08/2016 19:05

Hi all, wondering if I can join.

Just started ttc #2. My DD is 10 months old at the moment.

I have no idea about my periods as they never returned after birth before I went on cerazette as was breast feeding.

Just came off cerazette 2 weeks ago to start ttc. No bleed or anything yet so waiting for cycle to return.
