There wasn't any more room for moaning with all those grinny smilies's eyes following me around the room.

Suspected (my own self-diagnosis) perimenopause, anyone?

Hope it goes ok Lissie. Remember we're all wishing good things for you, if that helps x

plummymummy · 15/02/2007 15:14

I'm sorry to disappoint you but none of you are even nearly insane yet but with a few more months ttc someone of us may soon be getting there . Lissie I'm really appalled to hear what has happened to you and so sorry. How is Phil and Noah? Agree with others that you should sue or threaten to sue. Feedmenow, what a terrible thing to say What did you say or were you too stunned to say anything?

Catbabymummy · 15/02/2007 16:11

Yep, I've had people say the same to me to. Trouble is, I think people are generally trying to help, but because they have never been through a m/c, they don't understand how insensitive saying that is.
BTW have had a couple of people at work, one an EA officer, and another a sales rep for a company I use ask me how my bump is. Then I have to tell them I'm not pregnant any more and it is so horrible, I feel guilty for making them feel so uncomfortable, but it's only natural to ask how I am!

StrangeTown · 15/02/2007 18:37

Hi everyone. Back in Doom full time now.

It is also currently really annoying me when people are asking 'so what's next, are you having some tests' when I want to focus on the baby I am losing, not one I may or may not be able to have in future.

I feel like as I have now offially had a m/c people have written this episode off and now want to know how and when I will be getting pregnant again. Tbh, it's farthest from my mind right now. I want to get over this baby, not start planning another.

Rant over.

lissielou · 15/02/2007 19:18

duchesse · 15/02/2007 19:32

hands Lissie a very large drink and offers Beansprout's or Impatience's shoulder (I'm not very touchy-feely, sorry)

OP posts:
beansprout · 15/02/2007 20:04

Anyone need a shoulder?

lissielou · 15/02/2007 20:25

yes please

Impatience · 15/02/2007 22:11

My shoulder's a bit late in arriving, but here it is anyway. What a truly crap time you're having Lissie!

beansprout · 16/02/2007 10:05

How are you today Lissie? Impatience?

And Duchesse....?

MrsMcJnr · 16/02/2007 11:14

Poor you lissie

Impatience · 16/02/2007 13:08

Not stressing about FTC or random mucus etc today because I'm VERY busy, and poorly ds would only sleep last night with me lying on the floor saying 'it's ok, I'm still here' throughout the night. I was there from 12.30 till 7... So feeling on great form, and thoroughly able to get all this work done by the end of today...

Bet my day's not as bad as Lissie's though. Lissie, anyone rearrange your organs randomly, lock you in a room, dismantle any kitchen essentials, tell you off for what you do with your undergarments? If not, things seem to be improving for you

Anyone got anything lovely planned for the weekend that I can vicariously look forward to?

PinkElephant · 16/02/2007 13:12

Lissie - contact the PALS dept at your local hospital, you can have a chat with them re a complaint etc.

lissielou · 16/02/2007 13:47

Impatience · 16/02/2007 14:01

One Hut Oblivion, hey let's make that two, coming up! Oh heck, let's just mix up a punchbowl. Come on in, help yourselves! (Now, if I can just clear a space at the bar to get that work done...)

lissielou · 16/02/2007 14:05

lol. are you feeling shitty today too?

plummymummy · 16/02/2007 15:02

Hi Lissie, so sorry to hear about your traumatic time. Can I buy you a virtual gin? Here you are It's a double - figured you need it.

lissielou · 16/02/2007 15:05

thanks plummy. how are you today?

plummymummy · 16/02/2007 15:08

Ok thanks. Toilet training ds and he pissed in his pants in the park. Have you seen the way children walk when they've wet themselves? It's v funny. Aside from this he's doing quite well. How's Noah?

duchesse · 16/02/2007 15:22

Hey guys! Well, that was a wacky week- starting with very faint lines on Monday (day my period was due) on a pregnancy test, ending today in a period.

I have been researching the link between thyroid function and infertility since this is far from the first time this has happened, and have come up with this site

For anyone with unexplained infertility, I suggest you have a thyroid function test done if you haven't already, or review the results with your GP if you have. Apparently a TSH of anything over 2 is enough to f*ck up your fertility. Optimal levels are 1-2 as told me by the specialist I saw on Monday. Mine is 5.05 - not high enough for automatic treatment, but high enough to seriously damage any potential foetus's cognitive function (ie IQ), and apparently enough to render me infertile, and/or repeat miscarrier.

Impatience · 16/02/2007 15:49

Oh Duchesse, sorry to hear about your vanishing line. Are you hoping you might have found the problem, and can now do something about it? (hyperthyroid I mean)

rahrah1 · 16/02/2007 15:55

Hi duchesse

I read the article that you posted, now that they now that the levels are not correct what treatment do they use. But the said that with the right treatment success rate is good. They also mentioned Heparin and aspirin, they seem to be using that for loads of things now, even my consultant has advised that he will be using aspirin in my next pregnancy... trouble is need to get pregnant in the first place! I am still awaiting my results for thyroid, but strangely I had reflexology this cycle and she advised she could feel something on my thyroid... so will interesting to get my results.

What a roll-a-coaster as well getting a positive and then a period. It seems very cruel.

Wishing you well and some serious hut attention... I am due on in a few days so will be ranting as usual when period turns up..(well about 5 days time)

Catbabymummy · 16/02/2007 16:05

Hey everyone, still got this annoying cold... just coughing over everyone.
Slightly alarmed to read about the thyroid thing, my friend sho has told me she's pg is taking thyroxine for hypothyroidism...
