Hello

Am starting a thread for people like me who need to lose a few pounds (well more like a stone) after eating and drinking far too much in the past month (again if telling the truth year)

It was certainly the kick in the bum I needed. I went to bed hungry last night

Natty1806 · 08/02/2007 11:11

Sometimes i like feeling hungry it is as if you can feel youself losing weight.

Definitely agree with that Natty, when I go to be with a rumbly belly, I know that I am being good!! I confess, that last week, I didn't give my belly time to rumble - probably a blessing that I didn't put on more than a lb!!! Still, I am on the straight and narrow now!! And DH is under strict instructions to tell me off if I even look at the biscuit barrel

cedar12 · 09/02/2007 11:27

My danger zone is the weekend but I will be good. I am going to do a 14 trail at a gym just to give me a kick start, I promise i am going to phone them now.

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 09/02/2007 12:17

Stick with it, Ready. It is hard going, but worth it. Natty is right, that empty tum feeling can be good. Just don't do what I did last week and go to the supermarket feeling like that - all kinds of 'bad' things ended up in my trolley . Cedar, I'm really impressed at the idea of going to a gym - my exercise is mainly walking the dog with dd in her buggy.

cedar12 · 09/02/2007 12:25

Still havent managed to phone the gym. Just thought dh starting to decorate the hall so might be a bit busy then its half term excuses excuses.

I think 11 stone 4lb was a bit a hopeful. Did a weigh in this morning I lost 1 lb so now 11stone 7lb. I supose 1 lb is better than nothing but was hoping for a bit more. Hopfully it will al drop off next week. Hope everyone else has done ok.

Ready · 11/02/2007 14:24

Cedar, definitely, 1lb is better than none!! i'd love to have lost a lb last week!

I have been good this week since my disappointment. the only exception being it was birthday yesterday and I had a meal out, but it was one evening, I hope that it hasn't made too much difference

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 12/02/2007 10:03

A belated happy birthday, Ready. I was really bad yesterday (PMT) and ate loads of biscuits, but they don't seem to have made it to my hips yet, as I am 1lb lighter this morning . Although to be honest, I think I just use up more energy in cold weather.

cedar12 · 12/02/2007 10:25

Well done everyone and Happy Birthday ready.
I was very naughty lastnight at work someone bought us a very big box of nice m&s biscuits which kept on call to me everytime I walked past the desk. 5 biscuits later feeling rather sick as had already tucked into a sponge pudding at break time. Start again today salad for lunch.

Ready · 12/02/2007 12:40

Ok, I don't normally weigh myself til Tuesday, but have been so good I couldn't resist popping on the scales this morning to see if I had lost any!! WOOOO HOOOO! I lost 3lbs!!! I am very proud of myself!! I clearly needed that kick last week!! I feel more in control and determined!!

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 12/02/2007 12:41

that's fantastic, Ready. Keep up the good work

Ready · 12/02/2007 12:44

Thanks

And was naughty on my birthday too!! Obviously if I hadn't been I might have lost even more!!

Sorry about the pmt, that is the hardest time to lose weight isn't it!! I crave sweet things at that time!

oooh, sponge pudding... dribble.

cedar12 · 12/02/2007 17:26

Well done ready. I really need to get back into it now after my slip at the weekend. I going to try for at least 2 lbs next week. I wonder if anyone can beat Readys 3lbs next week.

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 12/02/2007 17:30

Ooooohhhh, don't start me thinking about sponge pudding, I want one!!!! Just eaten one of those pathetic mini tubs of pringles - some of the tasted and none of the satisfaction....

cedar12 · 12/02/2007 17:35

Roskva after saying I was going to be really good guess what I bought at sainsburys this afternoon, STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING!!! But i promise to save it for my treat at the weekend and just look at them in the fridge until then.

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 13/02/2007 09:32

You devil, you! You have more willpower than me if you can looking at it sat there in the fridge willing you to eat it for 5 days! It's my birthday on Thursday, so I will probably lapse this week.

cedar12 · 13/02/2007 11:59

Ive put them in the freezer now to much temptation.

Ready · 13/02/2007 12:02

lalalalalalala. Not listening to all this sticky toffee pudding talk... lalalalalala

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 14/02/2007 09:34

Cheer me up, someone, before I eat myself silly: it valentine's day, and dh has sodded off to Liverpool for a business meeting (we live in south Wales), so he cancelled the dinner reservation I had made for tonight. Plus it's my birthday tomorrow and he probably won't be back until late. Looks like dd and I get a quiet, unromantic night in. Might take us both out to lunch to compensate, or is that a really bad idea in my current state of mind?

Ready · 14/02/2007 11:08

The odd treat day won't hurt!! Look at me on my birthday, I ate for England and still managed to lose 3lbs!! Go for it!

cedar12 · 14/02/2007 11:27

Go and treat both of you Ive alreay eaten 4 chocolates this morningand a piece of ginger cake yesterday. I hope this week isnt already doomed for me.
But I did go for a 3 mile jog last night, I didnt run all the way. Walk to the resturant then you wont feel so bad. Happy Birthday for tomorrow.

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 15/02/2007 10:36

Confession time: the damage yesterday was 2 macaroons, a small packet of chocs from Thorntons, a G&T with a packet of crisps, 1/2 bottle of wine, and oven chips (homemade) for my lonely valentine's dinner... that looks really bad when I write it all down

cedar12 · 15/02/2007 11:57

Roskva I have decieded this week is doomed My dh bought me chocolate yesterday and I have almost finished the box. I am going to try and be good and do some exercise to make up for all the treats I have been having at least one a day and we are going out on saturday night. I think I may need to run a marathon.
Happy birthday to you

Ready · 15/02/2007 13:56

I have been really good, although we have guests coming this weekend, and we are eating out at the chinese.... aaargh!! Oh well, I'll just call it treat night

I feel slightly better in that, I am not alone in the naughty stakes!!
