Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

DH has just been the the consultant about his back because it's been hurting since August. He's been told he has a slipped disc and needs an operation to fix it. I'm really worried about it on so many counts as is he but he is also worried about the recovery time and the impact on TTC. Does anyone know anything about this type of op and recovery times? thank you!

Natty1806 · 10/11/2006 15:48

Poor Mr McJnr, no idea on recovery times etc, but is properley a week or two maybe even a month, better to be safe than sorry. Have you got a date for the op? Maybe you could have your BFP by then?

MrsMcJnr · 10/11/2006 16:12

No dates yet Natty. Female very kindly found a site for me called TheMediWeb and it says that for 6 weeks you are only allowed to sit for meals and then must spend the rest of the time lying down or standing and that he'll be in hospital for 7 - 10 days. It's a medium sized op apparently. Poor DH. I can only hope that we manage our BFP beforehand or else it looks like we'll be taking a break for a few months.

It is so selfish I know but I feel sick and like crying, there is now even more pressure on us to get our BFP soon. We plan to move to Spain next Autumn as you know and the plan was to do so with a small child. Ironic the lessons life teaches you - serves me right for trying to plan things that I have no control over!

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 10/11/2006 16:53

Your just like me, have everything planned out in your head. That is why i get so now about not having got my BFP as i planned that it should take 6 months to get preggers and so in my head this christmas i should have a 4 month old baby to take to my mum's for Chritmas but no just me and OH getting drunk. Oh well it certainly has taught me that i can't control everything.

Don't put pressure on yourselfs at the end of the day a nice break will do you good, and depending on how much pain he is in there may be ways round it.

kayjayel · 10/11/2006 17:18

I'd like to join you ladies too. Have been trying for over a year now, and have been very down about it but feel unexpectedly calm this month. So my aim this month is to stay calm, have a beer, go running etc. Realise that the rest of my life is still out there!

However, if my magic calm vanishes feel free to wield the cyberslaps my way in a couple of weeks too!

Good luck all x

ladybump · 10/11/2006 18:16

Lol at cyberslap kayjayel. i think i need one of them every now and again too when I have my end of cycle 'life's not fair rant'. Good job we can laugh eh!! Have put BFP on my xmas list so fingers crossed.

kayjayel · 10/11/2006 18:23

I can't claim the genius of cyberslap - give the credit to Netty!

I need slapping at all points of the month.

Oooh, CD5, had three neg tests but I have cramp in my little finger...Perhaps I'm pregnant There's no hope!

ladybump · 10/11/2006 18:26

hee! hee!
I am on CD10 and am waiting to OV., i think!!!! I did HPT when i got in from work today!

Obviously it was negative.

What was I thinking??? I need help!

Natty1806 · 10/11/2006 19:30

hpt on CD10

Big slap, slap on both cheeks for you.

xx oh and welcome KJ

ladybump · 10/11/2006 20:18

oh god i know

Cos my temps are all out i thought there might be a 1 in 40000000000 chance that my AF was some sort of mega implantation bleed during a moment of insanity! How ridiculous!! That's the thing when I buy multi packs of HPt off ebay, I can't
just use one a month when there's 20!!!

Oh well at least I'm honest and perhaps a bit strange!!

kayjayel · 10/11/2006 20:49

Ah no, I'm with you completely LB - you just HAVE to be sure! You hear these stories about people having periods and everything during pregnancy, so not even that gives you a certainty!

You guys, I'm feeling so much better already. I should have joined these threads months ago

Natty1806 · 10/11/2006 21:19

I can understand by boobs were killing me the last few days while on AF and i have to admit i did think 'i wonder if' but then i had done a hpt 10 DPO that was neg so knew painfull boobs were down to AF which i had never had as bad before. x

ready4motherhood · 11/11/2006 12:13

Wow.... there are lots of ladies already on the December thread!! Hello all!! I won't try and list everyone, I will be here all day
Fingers crossed for all of us for a BFP for Christmas... that is the only thing on my list this year!!!!

AF arrived a bit ago, so what started the day as CD28 has now become CD1... another cycle, another go! I am trying to be upbeat about it. Will be pigging out of choc tonight though

babydust to everyone!!

Natty1806 · 11/11/2006 12:46

Hi Ready,

Sorry about AF - that is the right attidute to have. Welcome the month of chilling out. xx

Will be on line most of the day, starting to wrap a few Christmas presents. xxx

MrsMcJnr · 11/11/2006 12:47

Morning ladies and hello to Kayjayal, liking you already . Here's to lots of good calm karma, god knows, I need it!

Thanks for listening to me Natty, I knew you'd understand. We will get those BFPs one of these days

Hello Ladybump, glad you can laugh and we all know how you feel, hope is a wonderful thing albeit misplaced sometimes.

Ready - so sorry you are here to join us but you are welcome .

Have lots of people coming for dinner so better go and get ready. Have a bit of a fussy head today, drowned my worries in gin last night, shame they came back this morning.

Impatience · 11/11/2006 12:51

There're antioxidants in chocolate, aren't there?

At risk of confusing, I couldn't get in yesterday on my own login, so here I am now in my true Impatient self, but yesterday was masquerading as Kayjayel. So hello again everyone, and lots of good wishes to you all. Thanks for the welcome Natty. What a nice bunch of ladies you all are x gush gush x

MrsMcJnr · 11/11/2006 12:56

Impatience - great name - says it all really!

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 11/11/2006 12:58

Any time Mrs - have a nice weekend

Impatience · 11/11/2006 14:08

Hey, MrsMc, my dad actually argued to name me either Patience or Prudence, neither of which would have been anywhere near the mark! Good luck with your catering. Remember, the chef should always sample the wine, and there're antioxidants in wine too

Natty, I can't believe you're doing christmas pressies. Gulp! How very impressive

Natty1806 · 11/11/2006 14:18

I know, only a few though but it gets me in the Christmassy mood. x

ready4motherhood · 11/11/2006 16:57

Natty, you are very organised!! I haven't got a single present yet, ttc has taken over I think... I am normally so much better!!

Natty1806 · 11/11/2006 17:00

i know i did a bit in my lunch break the other day to get me started and have brought a few items on line. x

lisalin3 · 11/11/2006 22:45

Hello everyone,
Just found the december thread,i only joined yesterday. What a great site!
My situation is that my af arrived today on day 37 could'nt belive it.So wishing you all the best of luck for december, i'm really hoping to see the (two lines) next month.sick of the sight of tests this month.
All the best.

Flossam · 12/11/2006 10:02

Hello well all my symptom lists came to nothing and AF arrived yesterday, which hurt a little less because I was off out last night and knew I could get horribly horribly drunk. So now I am sitting here horribly horribly hungover having had about 4 hrs sleep before DS woke up at 6. [sigh]

So I think we will be trying again, and looked at my dates and my next AF will be due on my birthday! So that really would make a lovely birthday present. if not, I am feeling more positive. Overall its been a bit of a shit year, so I am hoping for a new year, new start and if it means I don't get pregnant before new year then I am hopeful that my luck will have changed by then [nutter emoticon].

I'll probably dip in and out of here, will be lurking though! Good luck to everyone else who is hoping not to be drinking, eating nuts, pate, soft cheese or seafood over xmas (are we mad?!)
