Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

OP posts:
MrsMcClaus · 05/12/2006 14:18

Sorry Tinselledtryer can you tell that I am fixated on the end of December already!?

greedyformincepies · 05/12/2006 14:19

oh Mrs! you are daft sometimes! thought you were an intelligent lawyer!

FestivelyFrostyFloss · 05/12/2006 15:06

I am a stupid idiot. I tested today, got a BFN and feel like I am at rock bottom. I've been shouty with DS all day, DP is still lounging in bed, DS won't nap and I'm thoroughly pissed off. I'm glad I tested today because at least I won't have the horror of a BFN on my b day. I have a night out arranged, so thats a bonus. I can get slaughtered at the xmas do. Another bonus. But still not the bonus I was after.

I know I am testing early, but it is a first response and I'm sure I Ov'd 13 days ago at least, so it really should be positive if its going to be. I cancelled going over to friends as I feel constantly at the verge of tears. I know I shouldn't have done it. As soon as I had I was just so cross with myself and I knew it wouldn't be a BFP.

I'm sorry I am ranting, and being a nutter. I'm just so dissapointed. Every time I get a BFN it makes the miscarriage all the harder to bear.

greedyformincepies · 05/12/2006 15:49

oh floss! bless your little cotton socks, you sound so down. its so hard to resist testing isnt it? and then BFNs are so upsetting. you are in good company on here there have been lots of bfns over the past few days and lots of sad ladies. try and keep smiling!

Impatience · 05/12/2006 15:54

Poor Floss. It's nasty

sparklytreeangel · 05/12/2006 16:15

Oh Floss big hug I know its hard not to be
We're all here for you

Tinselledtryer · 05/12/2006 17:25

I feel exactly the same, Floss, if that's any comfort. There is something about a BFN when you have tested early that is just awful. I always feel humiliated for some reason - stupid that I've done the test and stupid for not being pg. DD has been refusing to get dressed (running away which is her particular fave at the mo...) and I have spent most of the afternoon in tears. I feel bad that I've upset her now. She heard me tell DH that I hadn't slept last night because I had too much to think about and replied "It's best not to think, mummy". Slightly worrying that a 2 yr old seems to have diagnosed a major problem in the conceiving process! But it will happen for us all. Have a better evening, Floss

BoJingles · 05/12/2006 17:34

Sparklytreeangel - I've no idea what I'm doing with the grapefruit juice apart from trying to avoid drinking it......anyone know when we are supposed to take it? I read somewhere that around ovulation time is good - I've had a glass each day as soon as I felt ovulation pains start on sunday. MrsMcClause will know, MrsMcClause.....???
Poor Floss - hope you're ok?
Tinselltryer - I know exactly how you feel... and I'm sure all the ladies on here do too.... It sure is an emotional rollorcoaster which I never quite anticipated, right now I'm at the fun stage of ovulation but I know at the end of this week I will start the 2ww and it will be hell waiting with the grande finale being complete dissapointment - I'm strangely getting so used to it now
Impatience - how are you - you're very quite at the mo
Greedy - do you need some more incontinece pads sending again??

FestivelyFrostyFloss · 05/12/2006 17:39

Aww thank you all for being so sweet. I do feel exactly like that TT. And also that every little thing that usually bugs me just a little now feels like a huge insummoutable thing that I just can't deal with. I am basically being a complete drama queen. I'm also knackered, DS was up untill midnight last night, so basically had an 18 and a half hour day yesterday and it is taking its toll. Back at work again tomorrow which is a good thing in that it will distract but not so good as I'll probably still be tired!

Good luck to anyone who is testing in the next couple of days. I think I probably need to take some time away, I'm letting this consume my life again.

sparklytreeangel · 05/12/2006 17:45

Hey FrostyF don't go

Cycle buddy I think you're meant to drink it in the run up to OV to get the other juices flowing I will try again tonight! A small glass is as much as I can manage!

greedyformincepies · 05/12/2006 18:28

FFF - do whatever you need to. if you need time away, then go for it! i think i might do that this month after af arrives and try and be really chilled and not think about ttc over xmas. its a good time to get distracted and then start again with renewed enthusiasm in the new year (if nothing happens in the meantime.....af hasn't actually arrived yet has she?)
dont forget becca got a BFN this morning and she is pg, cos then she got a BFP 4 hours later! there is always hope!

bojingles - i am just having an excess of CM (for some weird reason!) not really pissing my pants! but if you fancy sending me some incontinence pads thats great (i will sell them on ebay!!!!)

how cute does your dd sound tinselledtryer (im sure it was you)

snowydays · 05/12/2006 18:34

Hi all - i wish I could remember everyone's name and scenario like MrsMc and write a personal to each and all. I do thing good things for each of you as a read your posts...!!! (Do you make notes... if so is this to do with your lawyer training???)

OK - I have a solution to the light in the thermometer problem... though it may make you laugh. I use the light of my mobile phone - so I time check and temp check (it rather looks like I'm lighting a pipe )

Greedy - I'd love to show you my chart but I'm too much of a PC dunce to work out how (I use fertilityfriend.com BTW)

MrsMc - B6 question.... oh-uh... I've continued to take it pre and post ov. Know about EPO but B6??? Help!

RudolphsREADY · 05/12/2006 18:49

Evening All... I have missed out on a busy day! Did you all miss me??

FestivelyFrostyFloss - Cycle Buddy, don't you go anywhere!! I need you!! Although BIG TUT at testing early! Don't be talking about getting slaughtered over xmas, AF is not due yet, so a BFP could be just around the corner!!!! NO MORE TESTING til at least Saturday (to avoid unecessary disappointment on your birthday!) ((HUG!)) I know I promised to stop telling people off, but I can't help myself

MincePieShu - Genius name! Love it! So sorry that you are feeling low (hug) Fingers crossed that you won't need your referral!!

Greedyformincepies - You resisted testing because there was a little Rudolph on your shoulder whispering "Ready will tell you off!!" Lots of CM is a good sign apparently, so fingers crossed!! Please don't go anywhere, I would miss you terribly!!

Tinselledtryer - While we are on the subject of testing early.... a big TUT (I'm only a meanie when it comes to testing, I promise ) for testing early! Fingers crossed for a BFP soon. I read somewhere (I wonder where ) that some women do not even get a BFP until 21 days past ovulation, so a BFN doesn't mean anything this early.

Yuletideways - How you doing?? I hope you have 'sent' my prize?? I definitely need it this month!

Honeyhangupyerstockingapple - Aaaw bless your DP for being all broody, I bet he's all over you like a rash now

Kittiwakesnowflakes - How you doing cycle buddy?? Hope you are not tempted to test early

Santasmum - I got my basal digital thermometer from Boots in the pregnancy tests aisle, it comes with a little booklet for charting and was £12.50. I really like it, but it doesn't have a light, so my alarm clock works as light.

FestiveFettle - How are you chick? How's the unpacking? I know what you mean about spots, but I didn't suffer in adolescence, I'm suffering now. Just bought Liz Earle stuff though, and it is amazing the difference in just 3 days!!

SnowyOwlet - Wow, 6 years. I need to learn some sanity methods from you, cos I have been trying 3 months and I already feel as though it's unattainable! Fingers crossed for you! good luck.

MrsMcClaus - Sorry to hear about your DH and cat not feeling so good. All the stress you've been under you really deserve a BFP in 2006!! And as it's the season of good will, I will share my babydust prize with you

Right... well hello everyone who I haven't mentioned by name... hugs for all. All together now "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells....."

x

RudolphsREADY · 05/12/2006 18:51

Snowydays - Didn't see you there I love the image of you using your mobile phone to light up your thermometer. Good idea though, better than pointing an alarm clock at it

snowydays · 05/12/2006 18:58

Hi RR

Sorry - I have to dash.. but (obviously not symptom spotting) but... anything happining for you?

abbymeg · 05/12/2006 19:22

I've read your thread a few times and wanted to wish everyone the best of luck for bfp before Christmas.

I am also pleased that the fight for festive smilies was victorious!

thechristmassyone · 05/12/2006 19:27

Hi everyone, can I join your thread? Have been TTC for 8mo, was told about this site by a friend. I've been lurking for a few days and have set myself up with a christmas name (as seems to be the general idea!) What next?

festivefettle · 05/12/2006 19:40

Hi all

Back safely from trip into town as they say - always forget quite how busy London is - definitely a quaint country girl me!

Snowydays - not sure of your background, but I've been in the same boat this month, my temps were up and down and all over the place and it has only been since CD42 (last Fri) that I've had constant high temps. I had an almost hypothermic dip on Wednesday before that - I'm keeping everything crossed that my temps stay high. I do hope you get some permanent upwards movement soon

FFF - I'm sorry you are feeling low. Big hugs to you - having suffered a miscarriage in Feb of this year, I know exactly how crushing subsequent AFs are! A sign of how things haven't turned out the way you were planning. I hope you feel better in the morning[festive hugs]

I have to go now - DH thinks I spend more time on the internet that I do interacting with him, so off to smooth some ruffled feathers!

Hugs to everyone and hope we get some BFPs soon

take care all

festivefettle · 05/12/2006 19:42

Welcome Christmassyone - wishing you lots of luck and festive babydust!

thechristmassyone · 05/12/2006 19:51

Cheers festivefettle!

thechristmassyone · 05/12/2006 19:52

oh, and babydust to all

bubble78 · 05/12/2006 19:54

hi just popped in to see how all you ladies doing any BFPs yet????

greedy how about you i know you said you where gonna test today did you?????

RudolphsREADY · 05/12/2006 19:59

Welcome aboard ChristmassyOne! You are in the right place, there are so many wonderful and supportive ladies on the conception threads.

What next? you ask... well, from a personal point of view, I ask LOTS of questions (I've been ttc for 3 months now) and always get the answers I need. Also, I like the banter and jus to generally chat with people that are going through the whole ttc battle too, and I just love to hear about the BFPs - I can't wait til one of them is my own!!

Good luck x

Natty1806 · 05/12/2006 20:08

Evening ladies

Been having a break from mn, but as AF is going to arrive in the next few days i am back for some support on the first crappy days of the cycle.

have made a decision to come back, but just in the evenings and weekends, it is amazing how much work i have got done in the past two weeks from having a break from here.

Any suggestions for a festive name?

xx

RudolphsREADY · 05/12/2006 20:52

Natty!!!!! Welcome back sweets!! I wasn't on for long before you took your break but I have missed ya .... I am thinking of a festive name for you
