Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

Hi Sunshine days No.2

Just read your post and had to reply. i agree Mrs Mc is special and deserves a very big BFP soon she is always so helpful to others an dpositive.

Sorry to hear about your TTC trouble, But Great news from your lap and Dye.

I have something to try and really think it works A TROPICAL HOLIDAY. I even know of a secret place that has a magic fertility lake-the lake of the pregnant maiden. It is truly beautiful and helped me achieve ds after 3 x miscarriages. I may need to go back there for another.
Sounds weird but hey I am sure it was the combination of the holiday and lake that worked.
Waiting for af and then ill join you here.

Natty1806 · 07/11/2006 13:41

Af has now arrived so am offically joining in for a stress free month of ttc . Good luck everyone. x

MrsMcJnr · 07/11/2006 15:34

Hello! thank you all so much for your kind words and good vibes for me .

Kyte - hope the spotting comes to nothing. I was actually looking at the moon last night wondering if it was full or not and remembering what you'd said about moon cycles, I'm going to pay more attention this cycle and see if it was just coincidence that the moon was full yesterday and AF arrived (it was full wasn't it?)

Flossfawkes - liking your seasonal name! It would be lovely to have you back but only when you want to. Hope you are doing ok? feel for you .

MumpBump hope to see you on another thread for all the right reasons sometime soon. Keep us posted and let us know that you and the little one are ok. Everything crossed for you.

Angua - I think there are a few of us that are going to try and really relax about it all this month and take the stress out of things so hopefully you'll be in good company but you'll have to tell me off if I forget to chill, its not a skill I'm known for - I can't give up temping though, not yet

Female - hello, hello ohhh liking the glittery babydust! Yup, water sounds good, a few of us on the TTC diets thread are trying for 2 1/2 litres a day. Are you not drinking booze at all? not even before OV? that's good going. Unfortunatley (or fortunatley) my brief aversion to wine left as AF arrived!! Personally I love grapefruit juice. Been drinking it with a shot of vodka as my alternative to a Bloody Mary for years - best hangover cure there is!

Hello Sunshinedays - so glad that is over for you and that the results were so good, you must be delighted and relieved. Stay and chill with us and well see if we can get those BFP rolling in. Be careful and don't hurt yourself. Thank you for your lovely comments, I'm so glad to have helped you .

Geekinpigtails - Natty's excuse for not drinking is the best one I've heard (and the only one most of my friends would believe!) which is that you are suffering from the night before and can't face too much!

Uki - thank you wow, where is this wonderful place? Tropical holiday would be wonderful but would also be greedy in my case as I had 4 weeks off in June and spent my honeymoon relaxing in Thailand and Singapore. We didn't start TTC until we got home though - maybe that was a mistake!! Hope you don't have to join us.

Natty - hey there you, what do you have in mind yoga wise? hope you feeling better today, take good care of you.

Hi mrs - have got the geri yoga dvd's which are good apart from the fact that geri talks all the time and is rather annoying, i did about 12 weeks of yoga this time last year so know a fe moves.

Am think Sunday morning spot of yoga and taking time to chill.

Think a good idea if you can do it is everyday when you get in from work or some point in the day if you are at home. Lie on your bed and just relax for 5-10 times focusing on your breathing thinking positive thoughts, worth a try.

And no sympton spotting from me this month so when i am 3/4 DPO and saying i have a feeling, i have slight cramps, my boobs hurt feel free to give me a cyber slap in the face and pull myself together.

he he he

baby dust to all as always.

And agree with whoever suggested christmas faces etc.

GeekInPigTails · 07/11/2006 18:00

LOL at 'cyber slap'!

good plan though Natty, I'll try to remember (in a friendly, encouraging way of course!)

Uki · 08/11/2006 05:38

Hi All
Officially joining you now
CD1 for me. AF finally arrived 3 days late.
It all gets so frustrating. But I guess i'll open a bottle tonight and enjoy myself a little. I've been trying since May with one missed m/c at 12 weeks, My cycle obviously decided it would change on me this month, so it does make it harder.

Sorry i can't do links but found this page www.americanpregnancy.org/gettingpregnant/understandingovulation.html

intresting as it told me a few things i didn't know -like you can't actually make your periods late by stressing but you can delay ovulation, if you are stressed then.
The commonly asked question page is intresting too.

Can anyone tell me how to do links?

I'm thinking that this will be a lucky month too, otherwize i'm booking a tropical holiday next year. Good luck everyone.

MrsMcJnr · 08/11/2006 11:37

Oh Uki, I'm sorry, sending you a big hug. This is going to be a happy, healthy, relaxing thread this cycle so you are in good company. Enjoy your wine and thanks for the website details. I will check that out.

Don't you find it a bit odd that so many of us were late this cycle? do you remember that a lot of us were confused about if/when we'd OV too? do you think the change in weather and season has impacted us all? it's possible isn't it?

I know that I OV'd late this month because I was stressing then about all the negative OPKs but my LP was still a few days longer than usual even taking that into account. I suppose in my case, my body might still be adjusting to not being on the pill (though I came off it at the end of June).

Hi Natty I love yoga and have a book of 10 min workouts, I was really good at doing them each morning before my wedding, must start doing them again. Will start again tomorrow.

I like your idea. In the evening when we get in (DH collects me from the train station) we change into slouchy clothes and have a 10-15 min "bed cuddle" nothing sexy just cuddles, chatting about the day, leaving it all behind and just spending quality time together. It's my favourite part of the day Maybe I'll just linger on the bed 10 mins longer and chill some more

Kyte posted for you on November thread - really hope you don't have to officially join us here. Babydust.

OP posts:
GeekInPigTails · 08/11/2006 11:38

sympathies Uki. AF was 4 days late for me last month - soooo frustrating...

Oh well though, onwards and upwards!

The (brief) explanation of links is at the bottom of the page. I think you need to be careful about the direction of slashes when you do a link. So in the curly brackets you first put the address to link to with all the slashes in this direction /. Then put a \ and then a bit of text that is the link word (usually "here" or "this" or the address again).

Just to check I'm right, here is my attempt at a link to the address you sent!

That's a useful page anyway, thanks.

1n2s · 08/11/2006 17:02

Hi all,

I'm so relieved as my ultra sounds scan came back as normal today. At least now I know that the pelvic cramps, nausea and outbreak of teenage spots are all just down to my rather over excitable pre-menstrual cycle

Uki - how dissapointing about AF and even more so for the mc back in the summer. That must've been really tough for you both. Sounds like I am at the same stage as you as we have been trying since we got married in May also. Fingers crossed for you

MrMcJr - Are you resisting buying the OTK this month? I have resisted all tempations and we are going for BD on days 10 (yesterday!!), 12, 14, 16 to cover all odds and thats about all I'm doing. I have caved in and started with the grapefruit juice tho and am still taking all the vitamins, EPO and fish oils. I also feel so much more relaxed this month without whizzing myself up into a frenzy of peeing on sticks everynight.

Kyte - fingers crossed for you

Sunshinedays - I am right with you re the enjoying things and partying. I have decided to throw caution to the wind and just enjoy the build up to xmas and that involves plenty of mulled wine for me

Natty - how do you do yoga without falling asleep? I'm a shocker for doing deep breathing excersises and then relaxing and then oops... before I know it I've fallen asleep without even lifting a limb

MrsMcJnr · 08/11/2006 18:16

Hello 1n2s - that's good news! Know how you feel about the PMS, really sore spots on my jawline just now and no amount of chilling out is making them less so

I have a few OPKs left so might succumb but now I have my new toy (saliva microscope - arrived this morning! ) hopefully I'll resist the urge to stress myself out with them again.

Your plan sounds like a good one I counted up last cycle that we had BD 15 times throughout the cycle as opposed to 7 or 8 the cycles before and we are newly weds too!

Babydust to you, you seem to have a great attitude this cycle, hope it makes a great difference to you.

OP posts:
Minshu · 08/11/2006 23:09

Hello - thought I'd pop in to join you as I no longer qualify for the November thread.

Liking the positive vibes from you ladies! Think I'm going to be less worried about what I eat and drink this month, but will keep going with the grapefruit juice ('cos I like it) and temping ('cos it was interesting and didn't make me any more obsessed than previous months).

I really should get back into the habit of doing a bit of yoga. What's wrong with falling asleep in it, anyway?

Uki · 09/11/2006 10:30

Hi All
Geekinpigtails Thankyou for that, I will have an attempt , just got to find something else to link

1n2s · 09/11/2006 18:18

MrsMcJr - Blimey - how many times BDing?? Puts us to shame Maybe the extra month of marriage is wearing us out!! You're far more likely to beat us to it. And I will be still writing on this thread in the year 2046 wondering why it hasn't happened for us

I can honestly say we've been going for it every 2-3 days. Is anyone else doing that or are you going at it hammer and tongs like Mr & Mrs McJr?? I'm worried now

Is it true that to do it too often can dilute the old "man juice"? I thought it was true and have been following this golden rule of alternate days, but then another friend told me that if you DH is a little older which mine is, the more often the better. We're honestly too knackered with work to be at it all the time.

One very confused 1n2s

Minshu · 09/11/2006 18:38

1n2s - empathise with you. Last month we intended to BD every day, but it didn't quite work out that way. We're both so busy and stressed that by the time we get to bed we don't really feel like it. So, once OV was out of the way, I kind of forgot about it, which I think DH is peed off with me about, as he has a higher drive than me anyway. Now he feels like I'm only doing it because of what I want out of it and not because of him. While it is true that it is on my mind because of what I want out of it, I do want to do it with him for genuine reasons, too, just am often really tired. But he's also bothered about work, so not really being very communicative at all. I'm a pretty cr@p wife

The more often you do it (over the entire month, in case you are wrong about when you might ov) the quicker you are likely to get the BFP. From what I read in a Robert Winston book, you are unlikely to over-dilute the magic stuff unless you are at it more than a couple of times every day.

Right, as soon as AF clears away, I'll make a real effort to be more like MrsMc.

MrsMcJnr · 10/11/2006 10:48

Hello ladies. Oh dear, did not mean to make you all feel bad . That was just last cycle, the ones before were 6 or 7 times in the cycle. I'm with you all on being tired and also about the performance pressure we put on our men at what we think the right time is and then how we can take it or leave it afterwards! Mine field for discontentment all round! . 2-3 times/ week throughout the cycle appears to be the best advice and if you can do everyday or every other during the fertile days even better but let's face it, sometimes the more you push it, the less it happens!!

Minshu - sorry AF arrived, I know it doesn't help but we all know how you feel and the reason AF means it is CD1 is because it is not an end but a beginning and this cycle could well be the special one. Fingers crossed for you

I have been reading the Zita West book and though I have only read a few chapters. There are a few things that I am taking on board already.

The first one is that I am not going to bother checking my CP anymore. Not only is it tricky to check and record properly but now that I know that it moves about throughout the day and more importantly, checking it can mess with you CM, I don't think I'll do it anymore.

The second one is being careful about booze just before OV. I always thought that it only mattered during the 2ww and had no impact before but apparently, before you OV you should ensure the best nutrition you can and as alchol can prevent your liver from breaking down toxins, it could prevent the egg from being the best matured egg that it could be so I am going to be careful around that time and avoid it the day before OV altogether.

Anyone else discovered anything new?! I am liking my new toy the saliva scope. No ferning yet but I am only CD5 and don't expect to OV until CD16-19 so that does not seem odd.

Happy Friday ladies

Natty1806 · 10/11/2006 11:26

Morning Cycle Buddie Mrs, CD4 for me today.

15 times in the month - think this is where me and OH go wrong, need to do it a lot more

That is my mission this month and to chill out about it all.

Interested about the booze before Ov, Worth having that in mind. The thing is most people say to me eat junk, drink lots have lots of bd and you will get pregnant, books say don't drink, eat healthy and have bd every other day.

MrsMcJnr · 10/11/2006 11:30

I know Natty, lots of contradictory advice. Thing is, some people find they get PG when they relax it all and others find that doing something different makes the difference but think I'll avoid alcohol the day before OV as what was said made sense to me. Not a big issue this cycle as am due to OV on a Thurs and am supposed to be cutting out mid week drinking for my general health and weight anyway!

OP posts:
beansprout · 10/11/2006 11:32

I've been lurking on these for a while but after 5 months of ttc I think I could do with some moral support! Am on CD 8.

MrsMcJnr · 10/11/2006 11:35

Welcome Beansprout . Glad to have you with us, tell us a bit about yourself. What's your TTC plan this cycle? hope we can give you the moral support you need.

[pokes head above parapet]

I'm lurking too but have no clue what day I'm on and defintely no Plan - I just stopped the pill and started folic acid instead then carried on as normal...
(this was only three weeks ago though, so am not expecting miracles).

Natty1806 · 10/11/2006 11:47

Welcome newbies

MrsMcJnr · 10/11/2006 11:54

Welcome Mrs Badger (loving the name!) I was reading last night in the Zita West book that you can get a surge of fertility sometimes when you come off the pill so make sure you get really busy for the first few cycles - I missed the boat on that one thinking that my body would need time to learn to work properly again .
