Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

OP posts:
sparklytreeangel · 05/12/2006 01:50

BoJingles Cycle buddy glad you find grapefruit juice tough too! I would welcome knowing roughly when its a good idea! I really struggle (but my mum loves it!)

Has anyone seen KitKat or Desperate2b in the new festive names?

sparklybits · 05/12/2006 08:00

hi seen the list; cityangel, great minds think alike - i think our name changes were pretty simultaneous.. (i'm femaleofthespecies)

blustery down here west london/middx/surrey - fingers crossed we get sent home from school

PeckaRolloverAgain · 05/12/2006 08:18

hmmmmm i did another test this morning (as you do)

and BFN!!!!!!!!!!!

but the one yesterday wasnt even that faint, it is quite clearly there?

Chooster · 05/12/2006 08:54

Pecca - Was it the same type of test taken at the same time of day? Do you think you did it correctly? The reason I ask is that I had a negative test following a positive but I did the test wrong - and it was a different brand.

greedyformincepies · 05/12/2006 08:58

how confusing becca! you can get false negatives though and you cant really get a false positive, so i am SURE you are pg. anyway.... you are a few days late and wretching and superfertile....so you must be! CONGRATULATIONS! let me know what its like having 3 when i am still on here ttc!!!!!
morning everyone else!!!!
i am now 11 or 13dpo....not quite sure when af is due! will no doubt test again tomorrow! i SOMEHOW managed to resist this morning! and will be at work all day so wont get a chance later. i couldnt sleep at all last night though cos i was worried about what my temp was going to be this morning and if af would have arrived or not! how sad!!!!!!!

MerryKitkatmas · 05/12/2006 09:08

Becca go get a digitail!

1st response didnt show up for me , 4 hours later clearblue digitail gave me a yes.

CONGRATULATIONS by the way

snowydays · 05/12/2006 10:42

Pecca - here's hoping your pg is just a little shy. Fingers, toes & fairy lights crossed for you.

I'm a bit grumpy at the mo as my temperatures have been up & down like a yo-yo. This morning my web chart said I'd ovulated a couple of days ago (I think because of the EWCM) - I was really hoping for a miracle this month as I start Clomid next month with some trepidation.

love to you all. Sx

Hi, I'm still about- BD'ed last night- beginning of fertile period hopefully.
Bumped into some friends at the weekend, who just had a baby girl... VERY sweet, only 6 weeks old... my DP was straight in there, picking her up and cuddling her! I think it made him remember what all this TTC is about! So, hopefully he's going to be putting in 100% effort this month. I think he's secretly upset i'm not PG yet- but hasnt admitted this of course.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 05/12/2006 12:32

Ok.................

Just been to get a clearblue digital and got a PREGNANT message!

So....back to being pregnant

I totally recommend those tests, no over analysing the line! Was so relieved.

BTW the negative from this morning when I look has v faint almost invisible line.

Off to docs this afternoon to put the sample in to have it confirmed by them.

Thankyou for the congratulations!

MrsMcClaus · 05/12/2006 12:40

Pecka ? Congratulations!!! I LOVED your news post so, so much! and I am so delighted that you have now got a confirmation!!! Our second December BFP!! Tell us how it's done? wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!! Can I have a BFP on my birthday too please!

Morning all! Not feeling the calmest today. I?ve had to take my poor puss to the Vet for an Xray on her paw & leg as she is limping, hope it is nothing serious . Also, DH is not good so I am still working from home which is usually great but seeing as I finish this job on Friday, there is a ton of mess to tidy in the office and I don?t know when I am going to do it. All a bit stressful!

Snowydays ? sorry to hear that you are a bit grumpy due to your temps. Which web chart do you use? Do you think you did OV a few days ago? Still time for that miracle hon, positive thoughts now!

Pinky ? PMSL at the digiTAIL!

XmassyCharlotte ? one of my RL friends is just pregnant and she has said that the best piece of advice she was given was to throw away all the books, charts etc and let nature take it?s course ? I can tell you, that would not work for me, I?d go out of my mind, I need some element of control! How you are enjoying the charting.

Greedy ? We?ve all been there and know how you feel. Well done for saving the test this morning, you know you?ll need all your supplies when you get a BFP and want to keep checking Isn?t it funny the things we fret about, I bet you never thought worry about your body temp would keep you up at night!

Micepieshu ? loving your name! sorry to hear you are feeling sorry for yourself, I really hope that AF stays away, try to stay positive, you never know! That?s great news about your tests, you must be delighted! Hope the referral relief works for you! Perfect timing for your holiday!! Mine is just when AF is due ? should be more positive and say when my BFP is due shouldn?t I

Santasmum ? we have a temping thread where we discuss our charts here and one for posting our charts here. It would be great to have you with us if you want to join. I have the same thermometer as XmassyCharlotte and it is good but would be better if it had a light so I didn?t have to turn the light on. The beeping annoys DH too. Think someone should invent one that lights up when the reading is done and doesn?t beep. Boots have a special TTC one I think ? Chooster, is that where you got yours with the notes? You take your temp first thing every morning at the same time and before you do anything else. I take mine before I even sit up. You need to ensure that you have 3 hours of consecutive sleep before you temp too. If you get up early or late, you can adjust your temp (by .1c/1/2 hr, up for late, down for early) but it is better to try and take it at the same time each day. If you chart the temps from the start of your cycle, take the highest temp of 6 days following the end of your AF and draw a line, this is your coverline and if you temps go above it for 3 consecutive days, chances are you OVd the day before the rise. Some get a dip before the rise. In the first couple of charts, the temps alone are not a good indicator of OV about to happen because you cannot determine a pattern but you will see when it did happen afterwards. As you know, CM is the best way to know that your are in your fertile time. If you are using software, it will predict your OV date from the info you put into it and as time goes on and it gets to know you better, the predictions are more accurate. HTH
Snowyowlet ? Course you?ve got a chance, many, many I am sure and I?ll sure your eggs will be just perfect. Really hope you get your BFP soon! . Do you mind me asking how you have been so patient and stayed sane all this time? and why did you choose to go for an IVF consultation now and not before? Cyberslap me if I am out of line. I am really interested to hear about you taking supplements throughout your cycle too. Did your consultant recommend you to? I have read that B6 and EPO after OV can be potentially harmful. I know we read so many things but I have headed that advice to date and have still had the desired effect of extending my LP from 9/10 days to 12 for the last 2 cycles (been taking the supplements for 4/5 cycles now). You can swop the EPO for flaxseed oil after OV without the potentially harmful side effects apparently. I have read some things on here about the aspirin, what is that taken for during TTC again?

Yuletideways ? no problems, I?ll CAT you the recipe so I don?t waste space on here . I like your name, much better than my suggestion so wanted that babydust though!!

Big hugs to FestiveFloss and Kittiwake, I know it?s a horrible time for you, hang on in there, hope your BFPs are just round the corner!

sparklytreeangel · 05/12/2006 12:40

Pecka that's great!

Tinselledtryer · 05/12/2006 13:04

Well done Pecka - good to see it can be done!

I cracked this morning and did one of those Access Diag freebie tests. AF not due until Thurs/Fri (28/29) but I couldn't stand it any longer, even tho I have promised myself not to do early tests (total waste of money and it always brings misery..) Anyway, BFN and v quick too, so presumably no doubt at all - had almost convinced myself this was the month This whole process is torture! DH says he really wants a baby, but really isn't anything like as involved (apart from the obvious key role he plays!) - it is so much worse if it is your body...

greedyformincepies · 05/12/2006 13:13

tinselledtryer you sound just like me......desperate to test early just in case in might be a bfp! like you said and already know it was a bit early to test so there is still hope! i feel so funny saying that cos i have already tested twice and i am only 11 or 13 dpo!

MrsMcClaus! i always love your messages! they are so personal to everyone.....did you get my insults by the way?

becca......i know how you did it......it was that sneaky quick morning shag with your ds watching wasnt it????!!!! i will have to try that! ds did say he wanted to see dsddy put a seed in my tummy so maybe we should let hm!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!!!!!

greedyformincepies · 05/12/2006 13:16

snowydays show us your chart!!!!!! i love being nosey! AND i think it helps!

XmassyCharlotte · 05/12/2006 13:25

Wow Pecka!! Great great news... you must be delighted.

Agree with you MrsMcC - the beeping drives dp absolutely bonkers!! And a light would be a great idea as yes, turning the light on is a pain... don't want to disturb that basal temperature by actually having to move!! Typical me though - couldn't wait another day to try a different branch of Boots or order one online; oh nooo - had to buy whatever it was they had in stock, even if it wasn't quite right.

Re. the charting - yes, I should pop over onto that thread too, although I'm having trouble uploading my chart (think it might be because I'm still on my free trial). I'm finding it okay, but know I'm going to find it frustrating until I can actually start pretending I'm some kind of Amateur Ovulation Scientist and put my lab goggles on to analyse it twenty times a day. Lol @ your reference to having to be in control... so true of me!

DP has politely said he is very impressed by my desire to 'understand the process'... but I think that's a euphemism for BECOME COMPLETELY OBSESSED AND UNABLE TO TALK ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE.

XmassyCharlotte · 05/12/2006 13:31

Tinselledtryer - I find those Access Diag tests really frustrating... whoooosh! and up the stick the wee goes, giving a BFN after about 2.3 seconds!! Then I just sit there thinking 'is it worth me staring at a piece of cardboard for 5 minutes just in case something amazing happens or is this another one destined for the bin?'

Fingers (and everything else) crossed for you that AF stays away!!

greedyformincepies · 05/12/2006 13:44

xmassycharlotte - i use fertilityfriend for my chart cos its free and easy to do a link too for others to see!

MrsMcClaus · 05/12/2006 13:50

better go and find those insults Greedy!!

I think 2 BFP in the first 5 days of the month is pretty fine don't you!? Very positive!!

Tinselledtryer - I'm due AF 31/12 and I am only CD3!! do you have very long cycles or did you just have an urge to test the tests?! They are quick aren't they! I know what you mean about men and the process, we do tend to feel the burden more I think, simply because we feel that it is up to us to produce the goods (and it is!)

XmassyCharlotte - I've got one of the digital ones in my stash too! I find the thermometer fine, especially if you have the book, no need for the additional stuff that comes with the TTC Boots thermometer! Yes, join us on the chartspotter thread you might be right abiut uploading during the trial period, can't remember now. You'll find that the more you talk on here, the less you feel the need to tell DH stuff, my DH acutally has to ask me when AF is due now as I don't tell him anything (he likes it that way!)

Tinselledtryer · 05/12/2006 13:57

MrsMClaus - sorry, bit confusing! I meant I'm due this Thurs (CD28) or Fri (CD29) so not quite as impatient as you thought! That really would be a waste of money.....
