'TTC after a miscarriage - new thread'

Well tried to add my bit to old thread and we have reached 1000 posts again!!
Chocolatepeanut, am so sorry for what you are going through, although you sound as if you are handling it well so far. Hope things aren't too bad for you in the coming days.
Rubles, sorry if AF does arrive, bloody bitch! My blood tests will be next week. DP sperm test threw up 'abnormal sperm' and he needs to go and discuss with the GP later this week although she did say it wasn't too much to worry about. Been meaning to start a new thread on this but haven't got around to it.
I'm looking for a yoga class to try and help me relax! Do think this whole TTC is stressing me out so much, I'm so conscious of age gaps, both our ages working against us, even worrying about if we do conceive in next couple of months as worked out it would be a July or August baby (my oldest is July born and is struggling bit with school etc). Part of me thinks it may do us all some good if I just stop ttc for a couple of months, then the other half panics about an even bigger gap, etc!!
How on earth do you all manage to relax about all this stuff??

typoonsmum

tender breasts and funny aches sounds like congrat's from me too.
I think a positive is a positive and with your abundence of tests you can watch the line get darker over the next few days.

I hope all this good luck rubs off on the rest of us.

duchesse · 17/11/2006 10:00

D'you know I reckon I've just skipped the bleeding stage of this cycle and gone straight to day one. I think the stomach pain and nausea and slightly tender breasts were actually pms. Everything's stopped now, breasts are normal A cup again (sob), and my temps have gone down.

Do you think it's possible to just skip the bleeding part of a cycle?

(there probably would have been virtually no womb lining anyway as I continued bleeding for the whole of the four weeks since the ERPC)

What a morning..........

I have just dragged myself out of the loos at work.
I am sitting here all puffy eyed with noone to talk to....
Hospital called this morning with date for my op... 21st December.. I got really upset. i am on bloody holiday from the 19th. Why does this shit always happen to me? I have asked them to consider the 14th december or 4th Jan. (get back on 3rd)
I am not sure about the 14th as I fly out on the 19th and am not sure whether that would be allowed.
The doc in charge of hysteroscopy appointments is only available on Thursdays and is not in until 7th December due to leave and courses. Otherwise I could have gone on the 7th December.

Am I the unluckiest person out there today...
This is really starting to depress me

I think I will have to settle for the Jan appointment if offered as if I have it b 4 hand I will not be able to use tampons or have sex for two weeks....
OMG does that sound really selfish or what????

I am too stressed to think straight.....
Am going for a coffee....

Sorry for the moan ladies

Oinker- can you ask them for their first cancellation, even at short notice, or delay until Jan? Do you have the number for your consultant's secretary? If so, ring her, and explain the problem, and explain why you'd prefer not 21st. They are often able to be extremely accommodating when they understand the problem. Also, if they've spoken to you personally, they are more likely to think of ringing you if a cancellation does come up.

Good luck.

duchesse · 17/11/2006 11:13

Ok, Firststar, a potted history:

Pregnancy confirmed second week in August, after a "period' that stopped abruptly.
Went to quack for first time on 18th Sep after late evening bleed on 17th. Had scan, baby moving, everything seemed fine apart from the bleeding.
Had another spectacular bleed with clots etc on 5th oct. Again scanned and baby fine, moving etc.
Went for 1st trimester scan on 17th October- baby had been dead for just under a week. Died at 12 weeks 3 days. Had bled in total by then for around 4 weeks.
Had ERPC 18th as baby big (6 cm long by then), needed anti-d, and would be away in Italy on holiday waiting for natural miscarriage (fun? not).

Bled not at all for four days, took aspirin for plane trip due to clot in vein of arm left by anaesthetist (stupid idea- don't do this at home), went straight back to bleeding as before erpc.

Continued bleeding throughout ten day holiday, tailed off after I got home, finally stopped two days ago. Was charting temps throughout, so know that I ovulated two weeks and two days after erpc, started to feel "pregnant" again until yesterday when all stopped, temp fell back to baseline and boobs went down.

So I'm wondering if I have gone back to day 1 but without bleeding, possibly due to previous 4 weeks of post-erpc bleeding not allowing proper lining to build up.

firststar, just dipped in for a quick look and so pleased to see your news, fantastic, congratulations.
Oinker, so sorry about your appt dates. BUT if you think of it, it is only about 3 weeks later than if you went ahead in December so I would much rather enjoy my holiday than be sore after an op, would you also have bleeding? I have had a couple of ops and don't react very well to anesthetic, need quite a few days to recover, etc, you may be the same too so I would wait until you had time to completely relax afterwards. However, I know what it's like to have constant delays so appeciate this must be hard on you, so sorry.
I wonder too how Rubles is getting on, I know she's on a break until, I think, the New Year. Think she had her 'tubes'looked at this week or last so hope it went well.
Good luck to the rest of you.

Oinker - so sorry, just read about your appt hell. Hopefully if you keep on their case you will get what you want and no-one deserves it more than you after what you've been through.

Hope you have a relaxing weekend and can do something to take your mind off it. xx

typhoonsmum · 17/11/2006 18:23

There is a definite pink line. Wouldn't call it weak. Just faint. I asked soemone in work and they said it did look dark considering I'm not due for 4 days. Still expecting AF on Tuesday. Not convinced yet.

Did CB digital and that was Pregnant and the little blue normal test (that comes with it) was two blue lines. The second one has faded a lot now (I did it last night) but still visible. When will I believe it?

Good luck to everyone.

Typhoonsmum....

Give yourself a little pat on the back

WELL DONE

You have done it.....
I think you can stop testing now.

oinker · 17/11/2006 20:18

Thanks everyone.

I am so sorry for the rant. I just loose it sometimes. I am soooooooooooo run down at the moment too. I have got a sore throat and just keep coughing. This has been going on for over a week now.
Anyway, had a bit of a think and have decided that I will ask them to go for the 4th Jan. I am going to have my holiday. You guys are right.
I will be doing two weeks of cabbage soup just b 4 I set off just to make up for all the naughty things when I am away. Hopefully the weight will stay off. It'll have to.

Thanks again for all being their and for understanding.

typhoonsmum · 18/11/2006 09:28

I think it will be the end of July but I'm not thinking that far ahead Firststar. I trying to make it to Tuesday and then 5 weeks (I started to bleed then) Might relax a bit if I reach 6 weeks. Someone advised me to take a week off sick to avoid anything that might put me at risk. I am SORELY tempted.
Where are you going on holiday Oinker. Sorry to make you repeat yourself but I've read back and I can't find the reason for the operation. January seems a very long time away. Try and enjoy your holiday. I m/c the day before I went away. Tried to put a happy face on for DP DD and DSD. Didn't want to ruin their holiday but it did play on my mind. A LOT

babyfettle · 18/11/2006 11:09

Typhoonsmum - I think a line is a line, but I think I'd be the same as you, not quite sure until I'd had everything confirmed - well done !

Oinker - enjoy your holiday, you so deserve it after everything you've put up with recently. The 4th of Jan is so close now! Take care, and enjoy the cabbage - can you alternate it with pak choi or swiss chard just to vary the cabbage taste?

I'm a bit low at the moment - CD29 and still no sign of ov. I get so fed up with these long cycles, particuarly as while DH was away, they were around 35 days - why have they started to get longer again now he's home. So frustrated...
Also went out last night and yet another one of my friends is pg (22 weeks), while I'm so happy for her, it just rubbed it in even more that I can't get pg easily. Sorry for the rant - you guys listen and understand better than my dear DH, who is at present rushing me out the door, so I must go.

Have a great weekend.
take care all
x

I am off to MAURITIUS

I can't wait......

No news with final dates yet....

Uki · 20/11/2006 09:11

Hi Oinker
sorry to hear about the operation dramas. Apologies also in advancehere- but what is the operation you are having? i can't find when you said what it was for.
Mauritius sounds fantastic, also wanted to go there, should be in for some fabulous food and snorkelling.

Firstar- your dh sounds brillant. my dh says i'm not doing anything especially conferences if i get pg. Yes I have been a little stressed so I am glad I didn't concieve last cycle. At least i can relax soon, bring on December.
also love the term knicker watch, so sad but true.
try my sumkata mantra instead though.

Babyf- i understand the ov frustration, and also about the pg friends, did she hold off telling you? re:22 weeks. there are two babies due in dec i know so that will be strange it all goes so quick for others, but long for us.
