'TTC after a miscarriage - new thread'

Well tried to add my bit to old thread and we have reached 1000 posts again!!
Chocolatepeanut, am so sorry for what you are going through, although you sound as if you are handling it well so far. Hope things aren't too bad for you in the coming days.
Rubles, sorry if AF does arrive, bloody bitch! My blood tests will be next week. DP sperm test threw up 'abnormal sperm' and he needs to go and discuss with the GP later this week although she did say it wasn't too much to worry about. Been meaning to start a new thread on this but haven't got around to it.
I'm looking for a yoga class to try and help me relax! Do think this whole TTC is stressing me out so much, I'm so conscious of age gaps, both our ages working against us, even worrying about if we do conceive in next couple of months as worked out it would be a July or August baby (my oldest is July born and is struggling bit with school etc). Part of me thinks it may do us all some good if I just stop ttc for a couple of months, then the other half panics about an even bigger gap, etc!!
How on earth do you all manage to relax about all this stuff??

Right I am day 27 after mc so I I should really expect it soon.

Although we went to look a very epensive house yesterday so maybe this is not the best time to be thinking about new babies. But I am - I want both. I want to escape my horrid neighbour (or really nice neighbour if you want to move to where I am and pay me lots of money for my house thus meaning expensive house can be bought) and have a new baby!

Is anyone else really scared of getting pregnant again? I am worrying that my 1st 2 are my lot and I will never have any more...

cazzybabs · 21/01/2007 20:54

ejt1764 - what inspection do you have? OFSTED?

I teach too - but in prep school and we are having ours in April.

duchesse · 21/01/2007 21:04

fettle- a positive is a positive in any light (even craning your neck and angling the test strip into the best possible source of it...). What it won't tell you is whether a very early pregnancy will progress or not. A faint line just means low levels of Hcg, which does not equate with a faint or failing pregnancy. A friend and his wife have four children, none of whom ever showed up positive on a pregnancy test. So good luck with staying pregnant for a good nine months.

lissielou · 22/01/2007 08:34

got a bfp yesterday ladies. but bfn this morning. wtf is going on. my boobs look like maps and my nipps are practically black. rewassure me please

Mumpbump · 22/01/2007 10:13

Lissie - why not go to the doctor and get a blood test done? I would think their tests are more reliable than off the shelf tests and if you have two conflicting results, I would have thought they'd be happy to help...

Caz - took ds to the doctor today and mentioned that we were going to try for no. 2 and was there anything we should do given the two successive m/c, like book in extra early so the pg can be monitored. She said no and when I said I was pretty scared about the prospect of being pg and having another m/c, she said to remember that even being able to get pg was a big advantage. (A bit like being told that there are always people worse off than you out there.) But it did make me think...

That said, after saying we weren't going to ttc this last month, I felt nauseous at the weekend and so, even though I have NO idea when my af is next due and both ds and dh had a stomach bug involving throwing up, thought I'd test in case it was m/s - which I never had in any of my pgs at all!! Needless to say, it was a bfn... Do you ever feel like you're clutching at straws???

duchesse · 22/01/2007 10:48

All the time, Mumpbump, all the time.

Lissy, I hope you find out soon whether or not.

gillian1973 · 22/01/2007 11:13

Cazzy, the one thing we all have in common on this thread is that we all want to get pregnant again after our MCs but will be really scared when it happens (and that is a 'when' not an 'if'!).

You are not alone.

Catbabymummy · 22/01/2007 11:18

Lissy, def think you should go to the doctors.

Mumpbump - that's a cr@p attitude for doc to have... just goes to show that GPs are useless when it comes to pg matters...
I think that when I get pg again, I'm going to ask for an early scan, quite a few people had them on the antenatal thread i was on. Some of them were private. I think that I would consider going private if I couldn't get an early scan on the NHS. I think they are between £100 - £150. And I've only suffered the one m/c. I feel a bit inadequate at times when I hear about people suffering from multiple m/cs. How you cope through that I don't know. And what courage it must take to keep trying. But then I guess the prospect of holding your lo in your arms will make all the pain and heartache worthwhile.
God, getting maudlin again. Sorry ladies!

am frantically mning and trying not to over analyse eg my wrist hurts and i was convinced this morning that it was a sign that af was here. im a muppet

rubles · 22/01/2007 13:05

Fettle, I guess you didn't see my post I put on about being down for IUI and getting a positive...well that was me..so I am currently pg too. I didn't want to come straight on here and post as lots of women here wouldn't know me and might think 'so what?' so I started a separate one.
I got the positive on Friday and we are living on an hour by hour basis rather than day by day at the moment - it is petrifying.

Lissielou - were they the same brand tests and done with first morning urine? Have you been taking your temps - I find that a very good indication of whether AF is coming. Other than that you may need to wait as long as possible and then do another one. It's a nightmare, isn't it. Good luck at the doctors.

Hello to everyone else.

Rahrah - I love your 'hut of doom' I wish that had been around when I was feeling so completely down about it all, it probably would have been my online home.

congratulations, Rubles - I've just posted on your other thread.

I'm hanging in there - still no spotting and temp still up this am 15DPO, but still have really bad AF pains from time to time, so I do so hope that is a good sign, not a bad one!

take care

I'm back to work today, and regretting. Nearly started crying on the phone to this lass who rang up from an recruitment agency about me getting a temp in. Felt okay in the morning, but now feel really exhausted, headachey and sick. Think I'll go home a wee bit early...

fettle · 22/01/2007 19:55

Oh catbaby - I hope you are feeling better now. It is so hard these first few weeks. you think you are coping until someone says something to you and then it just all comes crashing down.

Look after yourself-we are all here for you.

Big {{{HUGS}}}

Take care
x

ejt1764 · 22/01/2007 20:38

Catbaby - well done for going back to work ... going back is horrible! Hope you're feeling better now.

lissielou - hope you got on ok at the docs!

rubles - congratulations on bfp - i hope you have a completely uneventful 8 months ahead of you - it's terrifying, but worth it!

can't remember who asked, but it's the Welsh equivalent of Ofsted - called Estyn ... I work in an comp ... and have spent an awful lot of time today with the MFL inspector - I have another 2 hours observations tomorrow, and an interview - I've been sorting out my thoughts tonight - hope I don't mess it up! Our department is one of 6 having an in-depth inspection, whereas the other departments are having general inspections ....

think I'll wait til I get home tomorrow to test - if af hasn't turned up by then, obviously!!

hope everyone keeps well ...

ejt

Feel a bit better now, though very tired. Huge pile of wor to get to, which would have only gotten bigger the longer I stayed off.
Sad news when I got to work though, my boss's mum died quite suddenly on Friday. So felt pretty bad for him too.
I was feeling quite unmotivated in the afternoon but I think was because I was feeling so rubbish. Hopefully will be better tomorrow.
Anyway, nighty night ladies, and good luck to all you planning on BD tonight

Uki · 22/01/2007 23:15

WOW Congrat's on the BFP Fettle and Rubles, excellent news.

I know what you mean Rubles about the hour by hour, I stil feel like that and now 10+5 weeks. I have nuchal scan monday week but that seems forever away and now thinking of having a dr. appointment before that for reasurrance.

My mum keeps praying for me and said quietly the other day she couldn't cope if I had another m/c. It's hard on everyone.

rahrah1 · 23/01/2007 12:42

OMG there are loads of BFP going on this month...

Congratulations everyone who has BFP in Jan...Wishing you all the very best pregnancies!

rubles · 23/01/2007 18:37

Lissielou - what did the doctor say?

Catbaby - m/c are truly, utterly sh&t, there's no two ways about it. In my case I found that the effects of mine went on for much longer too than I would have previously thought. I kept thinking I was 'over it' but I wasn't because something would happen to bring back the sense of crushing disappointment. It's a rocky road.

Fettle - how's you? Did you do another test??? How are you feeling?

Hello to everyone.

zimbojules · 23/01/2007 20:25

congrats to all the BFPs out there!

great news about yr scan edie

rahrah - didn't you have an appt today? how did it go?
