'TTC after a miscarriage - new thread'

Well tried to add my bit to old thread and we have reached 1000 posts again!!
Chocolatepeanut, am so sorry for what you are going through, although you sound as if you are handling it well so far. Hope things aren't too bad for you in the coming days.
Rubles, sorry if AF does arrive, bloody bitch! My blood tests will be next week. DP sperm test threw up 'abnormal sperm' and he needs to go and discuss with the GP later this week although she did say it wasn't too much to worry about. Been meaning to start a new thread on this but haven't got around to it.
I'm looking for a yoga class to try and help me relax! Do think this whole TTC is stressing me out so much, I'm so conscious of age gaps, both our ages working against us, even worrying about if we do conceive in next couple of months as worked out it would be a July or August baby (my oldest is July born and is struggling bit with school etc). Part of me thinks it may do us all some good if I just stop ttc for a couple of months, then the other half panics about an even bigger gap, etc!!
How on earth do you all manage to relax about all this stuff??

HI All
Hi Gillian, lovely to hear you had a good holiday. wishing you lots of luck with your fresh start for 07
Thankyou, yes I have only started to feel happy since the scan, but I am now paranoid that because I feel good something may happen, it's weird but it's just so scary.

Oinker, wishing you all the best at your appointment. I really hope that she has some solutions for you. Some good news would be even better.

Typoonsmum -hi there, are you due in july?

fettle · 12/01/2007 10:01

Edie - hope the scan goes ok today

Hello everyone else - hope you are keeping positive.

back soon - when more time
take care
x

d4phne · 12/01/2007 10:33

Fettle - think of you a lot. How are you?
Edie - Good luck today!
Uki - I am not sure I ever congratulated you on the phantastic news and the scan: Great news and all the best!!
As to me I finally talked a specialist yesterday who thinks he knows what's going on.
He sais quite freqently women start not to ovulate after pregnancy but go back to normal cycles if only one ovulation is induced. But he thinks that Ashermans and hormone imbalance need to be excluded first. I hope this is not necessary because: I HAVE PMS and am almost absolutely certain that AF is arriving. Yippieyyyyy!! Never thought I would be so happy about AF ever... Just for the record: I have started accupuncture last week and this is happening after the first treatment! Wish me I'm not wrong....

Just back from scan.

They were quite surprised that I was there as they shouldn't take referrals until you are 6 weeks and im 5 today. They warned me that they may not be able to see anything at all and most certainly would not see a heartbeat which I already knew.

The nurses that did it were so lovely-the abdominal one didn't see much and the transvaginal saw two sacs but no yolk which they said was probably just because it was too early. They said it could well be twins.

Had some bloods too which I will get the results for this afternoon.

Hi all,

Can I join you? I've had 2mc - the first on 10th Jan last year at 8 weeks, and the 2nd which was a mmc which wasn't spotted until my dating scan at 13+1 on 31st May. 2 weeks later ended up having d&C (long story), and bled out in theatre. Had discovery of bizarre antibodies in bloodwork, but have now been given the all clear, and am now trying again.

Currently on the 2ww (oh joy!)

Also have ds who's 4 ...

looking forward to sharing the trauma with you!

ejt

EdieMcredie · 12/01/2007 17:57

Yes FS I have another scan in a week's time to see if we can spot the yolk. Oh god I hope we do...can't go through another mc xxxx

fettle · 12/01/2007 18:46

Great news Edie - twins!! Hope you see a little beating heart next week. It is good that they scanned you that early - but frustrating for you that still don't really know.

Good luck!

Hope everyone else is doing ok - not much to report from me. This 2nd mc was definitely less traumatic than the first, but now just feeling numb about the whole TTC area. Hopefully it will pass soon.

D4phne - glad to hear you sounding more positive, I do so hope that it is AF around the corner. Really not often that I would wish that to anyone on these boards, but I think you know what I mean. Have you made any decisions about the move/job? So muchgoing on in your life at the moment!

Oinker, I hope your appointment goes well with Lesley Reagan next week. I'm due to see the gynacology department in my local hospital at some point before March (!). Initally it was to discuss infertility issues, but now with the 2nd mc, the GP said to keep the appointment and discuss the whole area as I obviously have trouble conceiving and now have trouble holding on to them too!

Take care all
x

fettle · 12/01/2007 18:47

Sorry Edie - obviously meant hope you see 2 little beating hearts next week!

EdieMcredie · 12/01/2007 19:02

Just had the results from the bloods back which indicate a healthy pg-high hormone.

rahrah1 · 12/01/2007 20:30

Edie.... Wow... Excellent news...

I'm REALLY happy for you....

Twins and good hormones and the scan look good for this stage... many congratulations...

Uki · 12/01/2007 21:28

Hi All

Just woken up, and wanted to see how Edie got on.

Edie GREAT NEWS and how very exciting with two. I think you need to put your feet up and relax a bit now, all we can do is wait and see and hope.

Fettle-Hi again, Glad you are feeling strong, My 2nd m/c was far worse than the first, although I did end up in emergency with suspected eptopic and had to go through surgery, It's good you have an appointment with specialist though, I hope they can rule somethings out.

Ejt- welcome and hope you have the shortest stay here on record, good luck with the 2ww.

cazzybabs · 12/01/2007 21:36

Edie - that is brilliant! Twins OMG - shall keep fingers crossed they are both behaving as they should and growing and cells dividing nicely!

ejt1764 · 12/01/2007 22:00

Edie - great news about the bloods - hope all goes well.

Uki - I've been lurking for a bit before posting - and although I hope that my stay is short (iyswim!), I'm not tertibly optimistic that I'll catch first time ...

ejt

cazzybabs · 14/01/2007 20:06

huh - still no sign of AF following mc. Have bought some heft pre-conception tablets with everything in (well not quite but there is a long list of vitamins and minerals!). Am still only drinking 1 cup of tea a day (in terms of caffene intake) and only a little chocolate and am trying ot drink more water. My excema is on the mend (horrah for steriods) and at considerable expensise have had my imgrowing toenail sorted out! (my poor baby didn't stand a chacne with all those things wrong!) So am feeling postive - except my nose has turned in niagra falls ...

I am sorry if TMI but who else do I have to share all this with!
My MIL came round yesterdya - 1st time we have seen her since we lost the baby - I cried in front of her and she gave me a cuddle which was very strange as neither of us are particually cuddley people!

But at work my friend is due in May and everytime I see her she seems t be rubbing her belly (as you would!) - .

hey ho....hopefully shall get pregnanat soon!

plummymummy · 14/01/2007 22:06

Hello all. I just finished af (first one since m/c in December) so this question is for those of you who are expert conception calculators. Af started on 6th Jan (two days later than usual though I'm not splitting hairs under the circumstances)and therefore lasted 7 days. My cycle is usually 28 days. When do you think my fertile period will be? It's my birthday on wednesday. Could I be fertile then?

lissielou · 14/01/2007 22:24

hi plummy, was hoping to see you around this ones good and this youre most fertile the day before ov

zimbojules · 14/01/2007 22:29

hello all

sorry I've been away for a while..been to Norway and built a snowman...

plummy - I think that it'll probably be around Friday (if you ovulate around midway in yr cycle), so having a bit of BD on your bday certainly might help

pinkelephant - sorry to hear about yr ectopic. i hope that you're taking time to grieve and heal...

edie - i had a scan at 5wk+4, and they also just saw the sac but said that it's the right size. have they given you a due date? we must be pretty close to each other.

i felt so ill and nervous having the scan as both my previous m/c were only picked up at scan time (although I'd been having really weird dreams that sort of warned me...). I think that I will probably remain that way until we pass about 13 weeks!

hope you all have a good week

plummymummy · 14/01/2007 22:58

Thank you both of you. Good chance for wednesday then. Must try not to drink too much alcohol then. Cheers for the links lissie. How are you?

lissielou · 14/01/2007 23:08

not too bad, just a bit.... low.

how are you?

Uki · 15/01/2007 09:33

HI All
Lissie -how are you today?

Plummymummy- sorry to see you on here, but good to hear you are on the 2ww already, I hope your stay is short here, good luck.

zimbojules-how many weeks are u?

all ok with me, another scan this friday so a bit anxious. My day was filled up with plans for new guttering for the house, wow exciting stuff eh?

lissielou · 15/01/2007 09:53

not too bad, well, pretty pants actually tested today and got a bfn, i know that af isnt due til sun but im so impatient. i want it now.

zimbojules · 15/01/2007 10:17

hey lissie - still nearly 7 days. even the really good tests can only pick up from about 3-4 days beforehand... i know it's difficult being patient. i'm certainly not!

uki - i'm now 7wks+2. I think. Due Date is 1 Sept. I just want to get through the first 13-14wks... v v impatient...

EdieMcredie · 15/01/2007 10:51

Zimbo

Im only 5.3 weeks and am due 14th Sep so am behind you. Yes I would have liked them to see the yolk as well b ut understand that at 5 odd weels this is a bit early. Have you had another scan since?
