'TTC after a miscarriage - new thread'

Well tried to add my bit to old thread and we have reached 1000 posts again!!
Chocolatepeanut, am so sorry for what you are going through, although you sound as if you are handling it well so far. Hope things aren't too bad for you in the coming days.
Rubles, sorry if AF does arrive, bloody bitch! My blood tests will be next week. DP sperm test threw up 'abnormal sperm' and he needs to go and discuss with the GP later this week although she did say it wasn't too much to worry about. Been meaning to start a new thread on this but haven't got around to it.
I'm looking for a yoga class to try and help me relax! Do think this whole TTC is stressing me out so much, I'm so conscious of age gaps, both our ages working against us, even worrying about if we do conceive in next couple of months as worked out it would be a July or August baby (my oldest is July born and is struggling bit with school etc). Part of me thinks it may do us all some good if I just stop ttc for a couple of months, then the other half panics about an even bigger gap, etc!!
How on earth do you all manage to relax about all this stuff??

Thanks for the advice RahRah! Unfortunately I'm a bit late for most of it, I'm on CD15 already, but I'm pretty sure I haven't ov'd. I've been using the sticks and have had only negatives so far. I used to OV on CD15 or 16 so there could still be time but I've had none of the classic signs yet. I guess it's just hormones messed up because of the m/c. I'm getting so impatient though!

rahrah1 · 29/12/2006 19:57

No problem, maybe its just knocked out your ovulation. From threads I have read on this sites and others have been told that AF cycle can be all different days since MC or birth, maybe it will happen on a later date than normal.

Wishing you all the best... XX

Thanks MomOnTheRun - I don't live in Stevenage, but know it well, as my parents are from there and all my grandparents live there.

PS - Love the email address... will mail you thanks x

Hi everyone, I'm a bit overwhelmed by the notion of doing ovulation sticks and timing when dh and I do the business. So far I have got pregnant very easily, so is this technique for conceiving only or does it also increase the chances of the pregnancy lasting?

MomOnTheRun · 31/12/2006 04:31

FirstStar I think I'm one of the few ones that can have my fingers and legs crossed for you. Most ladies here are ttc so crossing their legs are out of the question.

Best of luck!

plummymummy · 31/12/2006 16:22

mom on the run! Happy New Year to everyone (in advance).

rahrah1 · 31/12/2006 17:53

Hi plummymummy - Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone good health and 2007 Babies - Happy New Year all!!!

Uki · 01/01/2007 09:07

HI Everyone,
Wishing you all A Very,
Very Happy & Lucky 2007

Wavedancer-keep bding, i think i got my BFP from bd on day 18 previously I used to ov around day 14 but cycle changed after m/c.

Personally I wouldn't bother with ov sticks as they can stress you out and are not always correct SIL just told me she got pg on a month it said she didn't ov at all.

Duchesse and rahrah was so sad to read your comments on the downhearted thread, I so understand where you are comming from I feel conception and pregnancy has been totally ruined for me, I can't be positive, which sucks.

Anyway I guess if we get there in the end none of this will matter.

I often think of a work friend who tried for over 10 years to have dc's IVF and all. Finally by 42 she gave up- Not fair, she would of been a great mum .

Another friend's flatmate tried for 10 years and ended up using her sisters egg, and got dd last year at 43, i'm sure all the heartache was worth it

I think I'm telling you that to say there is still plenty of hope for you all, so try and embrace it

rahrah1 · 01/01/2007 13:21

Thanks for your words of encouragement Uki. I think for me it was a case that I finally got pregnant and then had a really bad pregnancy which lasted only 24 weeks and then lost my son. I am on an emotional rollercoaster... I need to remain optimistic, but at the same has so many doubts and anger. I really feel that by getting pregnant again as early as possible will help, but have serious doubts that will happen...I don't seem to be ovulating this month, I have used ovulation sticks and keep having a faint line appear and yesterday a darker line, (but still not dark enough to show surge)... So it is good to know your cycles can be pushed out a bit - normally between 28-31 days for me (prior to pregnancy). I don't think I know that much about ovulation etc...

PinkElephant · 01/01/2007 19:05

Has anyone had an ectopic pregnancy? I've just come home from hospital having had an ectopic confirmed and am being induced to miscarry. I've so many questions to ask...has anyone experienced this?

Uki · 01/01/2007 22:13

hi pink elephant, i had a suspected eptopic, but operation revealed it was just m/c. what do you want to know? Why don't you start a thread

Uki · 02/01/2007 10:42

Hi All
Pinkelephant, how you going????

Rarah, I thought it was funny how you said others in RL expected you to be positive. Not that i know you that well but i reakon you have been amazingly strong and you and others should give you credit for that. I don't expect you to be positive though, because as you say it is a rollercoaster.... but I do hope your high will be much higher when it happens .
The darker line sounds good to me, does it have to go darker?
BTY with dp and LSC would it not help to try and bd more than once a day at peak fertile time?

EdieMcredie · 02/01/2007 11:36

Hi everyone, back from my break on this thread but I think it did me good as I got a BFP this morning!! Well two actually...

Uki - I have started a thread but no-one has responded as yet. I wanted to know more about the methotrexate they've given me to miscarry and potential effects of the drug. I have so many other questions also.... Sorry to hear about your miscarrige, you must have been devastated.

PinkElephant · 02/01/2007 14:46

Thanks Firststar - I'm reading away on internet sites and the nurses have answered a lot of the questions for me, but just wanted to talk to someone who had experienced this...

Thanks Uki, what does BTY and LSC mean?

I was told to not have sex to often, as the sperm would not be so potent...god I'm getting confused...

rahrah1 · 02/01/2007 15:52

Congratulations EdieMcredie....1st BFP of the year!!
