'TTC after a miscarriage - new thread'

Well tried to add my bit to old thread and we have reached 1000 posts again!!
Chocolatepeanut, am so sorry for what you are going through, although you sound as if you are handling it well so far. Hope things aren't too bad for you in the coming days.
Rubles, sorry if AF does arrive, bloody bitch! My blood tests will be next week. DP sperm test threw up 'abnormal sperm' and he needs to go and discuss with the GP later this week although she did say it wasn't too much to worry about. Been meaning to start a new thread on this but haven't got around to it.
I'm looking for a yoga class to try and help me relax! Do think this whole TTC is stressing me out so much, I'm so conscious of age gaps, both our ages working against us, even worrying about if we do conceive in next couple of months as worked out it would be a July or August baby (my oldest is July born and is struggling bit with school etc). Part of me thinks it may do us all some good if I just stop ttc for a couple of months, then the other half panics about an even bigger gap, etc!!
How on earth do you all manage to relax about all this stuff??

That is really good to hear plummymummy... have fun practising and hope Xmas goes well...

zimbojules · 21/12/2006 17:00

hello all. at work today, wishing away the hours...

for those of you're who interested in a central london reflexologist, do a google search for Shilloo Varma - she works near Oxford Circus and has an advanced qual in Maternity reflexology. she has helped me get over the erpcs, and the partial molar pregnancy and is helping get me in shape TTC!

Rahrah, my heart breaks every time i read about Bertie. One of my best friends had a stillbirth in March. She had tablets to dry up her milk and she is now expecting a baby at the end of February! She has found that counselling has also been really helpful...

and to everyone here, I hope that the the year ahead is full of peace and happiness!

rahrah1 · 21/12/2006 17:36

Thanks zimbojules - Good to hear about your friend... positive stories are such an encouragement that everything will be ok in the end.

Same back to you, hope 2007 is a very happy year for you XX

duchesse · 22/12/2006 19:49

Well, that was my shortest cycle ever.

Period just started.

3 days early. Which makes it a 25 day cycle. That has NEVER happened before.

duchesse · 22/12/2006 20:01

after checking dates Apart from the one in August that I had whilst already pregnant. That was two days early.

Please let it not happen again.

plummymummy · 22/12/2006 23:05

My cycle used to be 21 days - and I would bleed for a week. Horrific. Strangely, halfway through this year it changed to approx 25-28 days.

rahrah1 · 24/12/2006 11:11

Hi all,,, Got my AF too... , but least I know my body and cycle is still working and it is better to have a AF before trying again... so although upset can see the positives in it.

Just means DH's better be aware for lots of s** in the new year!

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow..Take care, have fun - XX

duchesse · 24/12/2006 13:56

Hi Rahrah, I suppose in many respects that's good- it means you're back to firing on all cylinders so to speak.

Happy Christmas to all. I'm off until Tuesday.

duchesse · 27/12/2006 15:03

Hello all! Do you think we should create a new m/c thread for the new year? This one's getting a bit long... Hope Christmasses were OK all round...

Mumpbump · 27/12/2006 15:29

Hello!!! I'm back firing on all cylinders too - af arrived on Xmas day which was a bummer! Roll on a drunken NYE!

plummymummy · 27/12/2006 16:22

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a nice xmas despite afs!

fettle · 27/12/2006 19:38

Hi All

I hope you all had a good Christmas? We are back from our holidays and just thought I'd pop in and say that I've lost this baby too. Really in shock, as I felt totally different about this pg than I did about the one in Jan of this year that I lost at 9 weeks, so to lose this one at 6 weeks is horrible.

Anyway, I'm off to the doctor's tomorrow morning to discuss things through with him. But I've been bleeding for a week and had a negative test this afternoon, so think it is all over. Hopefully I won't need an ERCP this time around and we can get on with trying sooner than the 12 weeks it took to sort things out last time. I'm really concerned that it is due to my 2 ERCPs I had in March that this little one didn't embed properly, so hopefully they'll send me for a scan or something to check it all out.

At least I can have a drink at my brother's wedding on Saturday and for New Year!!

Take care all

x

duchesse · 27/12/2006 19:44

Oh goodness, poor Fettle. What a horrid shock for you! I hope you are recovering, and that Christmas was not too awful.

zimbojules · 27/12/2006 23:05

Hello all

I'm so sorry to hear your news fettle . I really hope that you don't have to have an erpc...let us know how you get on.

my news is that AF didn't come and that I took the test and had a BFP on Christmas eve! (thanks all for the crash course in acronyms)

i'm pleased, but not excited. it feels really odd. I'm not having many pregnancy symptoms and I think i'm just trying to prepare myself in case something goes wrong. how do other people cope with this?

Uki · 28/12/2006 01:24

Hi All
Fettle -So sad to log on and see your news, i'm really sorry. Hope you are ok?
I don't think the EPCP would have stoped implanatation, but I'm sure if you keep having m/c's then there must be some reason. So I hope you get plenty of care and tests. {{{hugs to you and dh}}}

Duchesse and rahrah good luck this cycle.

Uki · 28/12/2006 01:27

Zimbojules- CONGRAT'S on your bfp, sending you sticky dust_;-;;-,;.-,;.,;,'.;,-.;',.;.;,.'.,;-.;.'.;.'.;.'.;.'.;'.;.'.;;,[..-;.

I am still been worried sick, but only have a week and a bit till scan now.

MomOnTheRun · 28/12/2006 04:37

I am not trying ttc but I would like to share my experience with you.

I bled and spotted for 3 months whilst pg with dd1(had to stay in lying position). I then had a mc followed by an etopic pg with a ruptured fallopian tube. I was recommended a chinese doctor whom told me that the reason why I had implantation problems was due to the womb being "too cold". The body rejects the foetus because of the less than perfect environment.

He gave me herbal remedies to get my body back on track. I was not allowed to try and get pg until after the treatment. But I got pg first time after being given the go ahead. During pg no spotting occurred. After ds2, I got pg accidentally with dd3 and again no spotting.

I think the herbal remedies have helped my body get back to normal hence the successful pg. The herbal medicine was foul but well worth it when I see ds2 and dd3.

Wishing you all get bfp and smooth pregnancies in the New Year.

Mumpbump · 28/12/2006 09:53

Sorry to hear your news, Fettle. I hope that it is all okay and you don't need any further treatment.

Congratulations Zimbo - I think being pg after a m/c is quite scary and nerve-wracking. I will keep my fingers crossed for you...

rahrah1 · 28/12/2006 12:10

Hi all, hope Xmas was ok for everyone...

fettle - so sorry to hear what has happened. Hope you find out why this has happened...I take faith in the fact that they tell me each pregnancy is different and I will have a baby in the end. Some of us just have more heartache getting there... Much love XX

zimbojules - Congratulations...Just rest up..that's my plan when I catch!!

Uki - It must be scary having your scan, but you have come far already..well done!!

MomOnTheRun - where did you find this Chinese guy? I have heard quite a few success stories about alternative treatments.. Always worth a try, as sometimes I really wonder about conventional medicine, they don't always seem to know what's going on in pregnancy.

duchesse & me - wishing us both luck for Jan..and anyone else that is ttc!!

plummymummy · 28/12/2006 21:37

So sorry to hear your news fettle. You certainly deserve to have a few drinks on NYE. I've been drinking for Britain following mine . Congrats zimbo and hope all goes well.

duchesse · 28/12/2006 22:49

evenin' all.

MomOnTheRun · 29/12/2006 05:20

RahRah1

The specific chinese doctor I went to see is in Stevenage. If you want to know his details, send me an email. ([email protected])

Wavedancer · 29/12/2006 11:41

Hi everyone - can I join in too please?

I had a missed m/c in early November and got my first period 6 weeks afterwards. I have a question though which I hope you might be able to help with. I'm now 2 weeks into the new cycle and should be fertile, but I don't think I am yet. Did you find that your first cycle after m/c was longer than usual?

I'm trying not to obsess but really do want to get pg asap again as my hubby is going to be overseas with work in Feb and March and I don't want to waste any chances!

Thanks girls and lots of babydust all-round.

rahrah1 · 29/12/2006 16:36

Wavedancer - hi there, nice to meet you.

I am not overly experienced, but gratually gaining in knowledge. The other girls will correct me if I am wrong about anything.

As far as I know you ovulate after a MC and defo after a period. You are meant to be more highly fertile after a pregnancy due to the hormones (unless a person as other fertility issues or had a difficult MC)

Therefore I have been told about the following plan. We are doing it this month and hopefully it will help:

Day 8 - Start having BD every other day. (you can also take cough medicine to increase your muscus for ovulation).

Day 10 - Start using ovulation sticks, everyday. When it is positive - BD that night and for 2 furher nights in a row. Then skip a night and BD again.

Then Wait>>>> Hopefully BFP or try again the next month... But it should work.

Hope this helps>>> Good luck!!
