'TTC after a miscarriage - new thread'

Well tried to add my bit to old thread and we have reached 1000 posts again!!
Chocolatepeanut, am so sorry for what you are going through, although you sound as if you are handling it well so far. Hope things aren't too bad for you in the coming days.
Rubles, sorry if AF does arrive, bloody bitch! My blood tests will be next week. DP sperm test threw up 'abnormal sperm' and he needs to go and discuss with the GP later this week although she did say it wasn't too much to worry about. Been meaning to start a new thread on this but haven't got around to it.
I'm looking for a yoga class to try and help me relax! Do think this whole TTC is stressing me out so much, I'm so conscious of age gaps, both our ages working against us, even worrying about if we do conceive in next couple of months as worked out it would be a July or August baby (my oldest is July born and is struggling bit with school etc). Part of me thinks it may do us all some good if I just stop ttc for a couple of months, then the other half panics about an even bigger gap, etc!!
How on earth do you all manage to relax about all this stuff??

I don't think any of us can think of you as wacky D4phne - we've all support you. That's what this thread is for. You have so much going on in your life right now, it must be so so hard. There is nothing I can do other than offer support and virtual hugs {{{HUGS}}}! I am sure that things will sort themselves out in the new year after the move. I just moved last week and my ovulation was delayed until after the move, stress can make that happen. So hopefully that is all that is the problem with you at the moment. Living apart from DH can't help either at a time like this. Take care of yourself and rant and rave anytime on here you want - goodness knows we've all done it enough times ourselves!

Hope everyone else is ok - don't worry Plummy - I can never remember everyone on here, always worry I'm forgetting someone, but I really don't mean to!

Anybody near testing on here by the way - we haven't had a BFP for a wee while now.

I think I'm in my 2ww, but not holding out much hope at this cycle has been up the wall.

How's everyone else?

take care and {{{HUGS}}} all round -

festivefettle · 05/12/2006 22:42

Yeah - firststar - how you doing?

Happy, healthy and relaxed?

take care

Oh firstar -- big hugs!!! I think there is nothing you or we can do right now but hope for the best and be there for you. That might sound silly but I have a strong feeling this one will work out for you!

oinker · 06/12/2006 13:46

I agree..........

It will work out
We need good news on this thread...

Just focus on a positive crimbo gift...

oinker · 06/12/2006 13:52

I am all excited about my trip. Not long now.

I am also a bit anxiuos. Me and DH bd'd twice without protection just as A/F was coming to an end.... I thought it was safe... It is isn't it? A/F is now late. I am on day 30.... I am normally a day 26 to 28 girl... Not even getting any kind of sign....
I need some positive vibes to bring on A/F... The worst thing for me right now would be pregnancy.. I never ever thought I would say that...

I really hope it is..............
I can't face doing a test.. I really don't want to think that way..
I am going to search web to see if it is possible to get p/g at end of af..

EdieMcredie · 06/12/2006 16:50

Oinker-I think it is possible to get pg at any time of the month although not likely at end of AF.

Im CD1 today!!!! AF has arrived on day 34 of cycle.

d4phne · 06/12/2006 16:52

Hi Oinker. I am pretty sure it is possible (but not very likely) to become pg even during (!!!) AF.
But I agree with Firststar that most likely there are other reasons that have delayed your AF. Maybe you should test to have clarity? I don't know if it works for you, for me knowing what's going on helps a lot!

oinker · 06/12/2006 16:53

I have my appointment........

4th Jan at 1300hrs.

Another worry....
I realise I am being a bit of a pain today but....

Should I tell someone that I would have just done a longhaul flight before they knock me out? I am due to arrive UK at 2000hrs on the 3rd.
I have only just thought about it.
I'm going to call GP and ask...
I am being so effin negative today..

festivefettle · 06/12/2006 18:15

HI all

Oinker I would tell someone, just because of the risk of DVT associated with long-haul flights and surgery - they should probably treat you just in case anyway, I think guidelines suggest that anyway. When I went in for my ERCP, I was trussed up like a chicken with DVT stockings for the day - very attractive -NOT!!!! But it really is safer than sorry, I would say.

Sorry, I have to agree with the others that bd-ing in late AF isn't safe as far as fertility is concerned. Depends on your cycle length. If you bd on say CD4 or CD5 and you ov on CD10, then there is the chance that the sperm are still around as they can survive for 5 (even 7 days I've heard) in the right conditions. However, if your cycle is longer and you ov on CD14+ (which I would think you do) I would think that you would be ok! I think more likely that it is the stress of everything delaying things - travel tends to delay everything. You'll probably find AF arrives in the middle of your longhaul flight out there!

Edie so sorry to hear AF has come - wishing you lots of luck and babydust for this cycle!

Take care all

big hugs to all
x

EdieMcredie · 06/12/2006 19:34

Hi FF-great name BTW-do you like mine? I take it you do all know that im Edie123.

Im not at all disappointed about AF-like I said-I knew I wasn't pg so it's nice for AF to finally be here and so now we can concentrate on making a real effort this time around...

Jossiejump · 06/12/2006 22:02

Hi Edie-I should be a week behind you-af is due on 13th, and have decided to TTC this month. DH know's I'll be keeping him occupied over Christmas!!!

oinker · 07/12/2006 07:34

Thanks for the advice.

I will speak to GP could not get to speak with him yesterday.

I did a test too. I panicked for about 10 mins cos a line appeared. I checked the instructions and it stated two blue lines were positive.. PHEW.. I had a right go at DH I know its my fault too. You would never think we were adults. I have been doing stupid things like that for years.... What a thicko !!!!!!!

oinker · 07/12/2006 08:38

I have called NHS direct. They are hopefully going to call me back with an answer.

oinker · 07/12/2006 12:17

Op is definately going ahead on 4th. NHS direct said as long as hospital are aware all should be OK.

Evening all. Have never really been on a ttc thread before so forgive my ignorance in these matters, but was wondering if any of you know whether there is anything that optimises chances of successful pregnancy (apart from taking folic acid). I guess bding is pretty crucial also! I've occasionally seen people mention pre-seed and clomid - what do they do? Also is a pregnancy more likely to be successful if I bd on a peak fertile day (as opposed to toward the end of the fertile period)? I think the last two pgs were conceived toward the end and that's why I wondered.

Uki · 07/12/2006 22:40

Hi All

CD 31 today AF is due and I'm really anxious now but not expecting much, will test tomorrow if nothing happens though.

Plummy I have no real advice about all that pre seed and stuff, I just try and bd lots in fertile time which could be anywhere between day 9-18 Cycle is a tad wacky lately, dh and I both take multi vitamins. I take preg ones. It is good for males to have zinc for healthy sperm.

the mothly conception thread, has lots of info about pre seed , charting, grapefruit juice- good for making EWCM, etc.

Maybee i should try all that next month, but normally my prob is not conception but hanging on to them.

Oinker when do you leave, glad everything is happening as it should now and will continue to.

Edie-sorry about AF but good luck this month,.,,....,.;,.;,.;,.;,,.;,.;;;;,,.;,.;,.;,.,;..;,;..().,.,.,

Mumpbump · 08/12/2006 13:11

Hello all... Just popping my head in to see what this thread is like as I might be joining you, but I'm not sure about ttc this month...

Saw Oinkers' post and wanted to say that I believe you are only fertile for about 5 days a month approximately 2 weeks after your af so I would have thought there to be little risk of you being pg. Do a google search for "fertility calender" or "ovulation calender" and you'll be able to work out whether there is a chance you might be pg.

oinker · 08/12/2006 17:04

A/F arrived today.....PHEW..........

I'm happy again...
