The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Tori I can definitely see a faint line.. whispers congratulations with lots of fingers crossed for a sticky bean!
I was using FF but it kept crashing on my phone and then not saving data I had entered so I deleted it and have been using Ovia which so far has worked really well and is really simple to use but holds a lot of info :) I haven't done temping yet, have just been using OPK's but maybe once my cycles are back to normal (STILL waiting on period 2 weeks after miscarriage) i'll try it if nothing else is working! My clearblue this morning said i've got high fertility so who knows... maybe i won't get another period! :)

I downloaded FF the other day but it didn't seem to be working so I removed it from my phone. As you're all raving about it maybe I'll give it another go though. I have period tracker and you can record your ewcm etc on there and it predicts your fertile days based on the average length of your last three cycles.

I like FF because it confirms ovulation with my temps.
Confusing at the moment but only because my temps are erratic. I'd be more confused without it!

Report
thesmallbear · 22/09/2014 16:53

I've never done the temping thing. Is it hard to get your head around? What are the benefits of temping it if you already use OPKs? And how/where do I take my temperature Blush

Report
Treaclepie19 · 22/09/2014 16:58

Oh, congrats Tori!

Temping doesn't tell you when you will ovulate but is the only way to confirm it has happened. You need to take it the same time everyday - straight when you wake up.
You can temp orally or vaginally. I do orally but vaginally is more reliable.

Congrats Tori!

I use FF- easy to use, stores lots of data, presents it well. I do find all the 'only available for VIP users' stuff irritating, and when my wifi was a bit flaky a couple of weeks ago my data wasn't saving; but it told me when it wasn't saving so I could enter it later when my connection was working again. Oh this sounds negative but I love it really, would def recommend!

Congrats tori!

My cycle has gone weird. ERPC in August, normal AF on CD30, now am on CD12 of next cycle and AF seems to be back. I'm really annoyed, I was getting ready to jump the DH! Anyone else had this? I've gone back to normal after both MCs so it's so strange to then have bleeding in what should be mid-cycle.

Hi, I had medical management for a blighted Ovum on the 13th September, after finding out at a private scan on the 8th September.... I was supposed to be 8 weeks :-(. I did a HPT last night and got the strongest positive I have ever had...... i thought after an early mc that your hormones were supposed to bounce back quickly! At least I feel 'less pregnant' now than I did. I don't know whether to wait for just start DTD and see what happens??? Do I keep POAS until I get a BFN? I am scared of having another MC...... Any advice? It was my first pregnancy so I feel a bit lost!

Sorry not kept up with the thread again but congrats Tori. I had my cons appt yest and have been put on 5mg folic acid and 75g aspirin. Cons explained that it was procedure for recurrent miscarriage and they can't explain why but for some reason it seems to work. She said it can't harm either as folic acid is just a vitamin and your body gets rid of any not needed anyway, and the aspirin is low dose, and can help reduce bp as well as improving blood flow and reducing risk of clotting so worth a trySmile

Congrats Tori Smile. Try to take each day at a time! Today you are pregnant!!

I'm also an FF fan! I've paid for the VIP (because i'm a geek) and love the extra bits.

Regarding folic acid, i've been taking two of my tesco tablets a day since the last mc as someone on here had seen a study by one of the top RM consultants in the UK into double dosing for women who've had repeat mc's. Overweight people are recommended to take more any way so i figured it can't do any harm.

Happygo - sorry for your loss. My negative test was 3 weeks after my erpc. It can take a while for hormones to come down. I also had blighted ovum, discovered at 8 weeks, with confirmation scans I finally had the erpc at 11 weeks.

Tori! SO happy for you, what brilliant news Grin! Everything's crossed for you.

MrsC - loved your story, first time I've laughed out loud in weeks! What a legend.

Happy - so sorry for your loss. I'm waiting for my BFN too. I had a MMC at 12 weeks (baby only measured 7 wks), with an ERPC 9 days ago. I'm still testing pretty positive, and plan to test every 3 days or so until I get a BFN, then use the OPKs to see if/when ovulation happens. I think the time it takes to get a BFN varies for everyone, depending on how pregnant you were, and how the mc was managed. I believe Tori waited 20 days to get a BFN after medical management... And now look where she's at! Hope for us all.

Had my first day back at work after the mc. It was ok, most people v curious where I'd disappeared to for 10 days, but no really nosy people thankfully. In some ways I hate how closed off talking about mc is, part of me wants to be open about it so people aren't afraid to talk about it more.

Anyway, just waiting for that BFN... (Never thought I'd say that!)

When I went to the doctor and told her I was pregnant I was given bottle of free NHS vitamins with vits C, D and folic acid. Not sure if everyone gets these or if it's because I told her I was vegetarian. I sacked them off and bought some of the Pregnacare ones anyway.

Think you might need a new gp! Funny you mentioned being overweight as cons actually said they prescribe it to 3 types of people; overweight, diabetic and those who have had recurrent miscarriage.

charlie I had mid cycle spotting/bleeding during my second cycle after mc, also had post and pre AF spotting. No idea why and it only happened on that cycle. Put DH off dtd and not surprisingly didn't get bfp. Didn't temp or use opk so no idea if it effected ovulation or not.

Sorry I can't say why but you are not alone x

Thanks EnglishGirls and Clara. I will just wait patiently

I found my doctors surgery pretty lame during my short pregnancy, no advice nothing! my booking in appt was supposed to be tomorrow. My local EPU and gynae ward were great when I had my medical management, but when I was discharged I just got given some antibiotics, told I would bleed for 1-2 weeks, best to wait 1-3 cycles to TTC for dating purposes, and told to call them if I had pain and/or big clots....... and that was it..... sent on my way. I have a Gynae consultant appointment randomly on the 3rd October due to pain during sex..... I am 90% sure it is a gastro and not a gynae problem.... but what do I know..... I am just the patient! but it will be good to see a gynae.

They said something to me about a blood filled cyst on my left ovary....nothing to worry about but I did have niggling pain on my left side for the last few weeks but it has eased now... I thought it was trapped wind but maybe a cyst?
