Out with the OPKs, ban the body temping; here's Just Shagging thread 14!

Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share and with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly opk's or temp charting. They are Contraband

Hi Andie, don't feel guilty. Okay so you have children but ultimately you want to have a baby with the man you love and so of course you can moan if it's a struggle. Sorry also you've gone through such a rough time . Hopefully you can get some closure now.

Thanks I do realise about the fact that both parties have to be investigated. It makes sense and I may have underlying problems too that I don't know about yet. It's just the other stuff that makes me cross.

Anyway hope everyone has a good Sat. Enjoy the much-needed weekend folks!

Sorry I didn't mean the "thanks I do realise" to sound rude or sarky. Just read it back and thought oops! Blush

Haha, no, I realised I was stating the obvious, was hoping it was a comfort of sorts.lol. I'd be cross too, at the draconian arrangement of it all.

No reason to feel guilty, Andie - nobody's struggles are any worse or better than anyone else's, they're just different. We'll all get through it all, one way or another!

I am having a really lazy weekend. It is the first time in a long time that I have absolutely nothing to do. (Well, that's of course somewhat of a fib. I could be cleaning the basement, but really now...) The whole household, humans and cats, napped today and listened to the rainstorm. Relaxing!

ERTD due Monday or Tuesday. It would be a lovely surprise if it didn't show, but I don't have my hopes up...

just checking in this weekend (on mobile as usual so difficult to write lots and do fancy icons/bold).

weekend has been busy so far and am shattered after a charity fundraiser yesterday. I ate way too much and had a few pints of cider which went down way too easily!

ertd is due on Friday- fully expecting it to arrive so concentrating on assisting the housework and keeping myself busy!

Report
Redshoes56 · 12/05/2013 17:48

Hi all! Cider sounds good right about now, coffee. Have had a terrible lower backache all weekend. And I really have no time for pain so working through it - cooking and baking my MIL's favorites today (lasagna and sour cream chocolate chip cake) for Mother's Day.

Report
Redshoes56 · 12/05/2013 20:41

Ladies, warning: Pity party ahead. Having a rough day even though I've kept myself busy in the kitchen. Every time I take a break, it's what seems like five thousand new moms and moms-to-be waxing poetic on Facebook about how wonderful their lives are. Meanwhile, my body decides Mother's Day is just a good a day as any to start spotting, and PMS is making me feel like a nasty, looney bitchy. ERTD tomorrow for sure. Sigh. It is like the fertility gods are angry with me, or think I'd be an unfit mother, and are shaking their fingers in my face month after month. Sorry for the woe-is-me post. I just need to vent, and when I bring it up to DH, he gets upset because he thinks it is all his fault that he can't get me pregnant.

Ahhhh Red sometimes its good to wallow you need to get it all out of your system, hopefully tomorrow you'll wake up and you can put it all behind you Smile

I hid my OPK's in my car glove compartment and took them out today DH saw them and said 'oh are we now properly trying' Hmm WHAT HAVE I MARRIED?? an idiot

Oh I'm a regular wallower in the pool if self-pity Red. I think Cookie is right and you need to sometimes. As long as it doesn't consume you them I think it's okay. I'm definitely struggling to stay positive as the months tick by though. Sending you good vibes and a big slab if virtual cake although tbh it sounds like you've got the baking cracked already with your yum cakes for Mothers Day. Smile

I had a bit of a shitter today and glad it's over. Wishing I could do an Alex Ferguson now please!

I was just thinking too I don't know how you ever get round the FB and pregnancy thing with other mums and mums to be. I think it's impossible because people want to celebrate being pregnant and having children and that will always happen. So it's so hard when you're not in the club, so to speak. You can't ask other people to "Please have a quiet, understated pregnancy" while at the same time it feels so raw and upsetting when it isn't you. I don't think there is an answer. My coping mechanism is to avoid being around babies and pregnant women where possible. DH and I didn't go out with friends at the weekend for that very reason. We chose to hang out with the childless couple ( by choice) instead. Much easier and nicer for us. I wish there I had a wand to make us all preggers.

Thanks ladies :) feeling much better today. Have wine in one hand and about to put leftover cake in the other! Watching Kitchen Nightmares reruns. Still spotting which means luteal phase is 10 days this month, at least, not 9. I guess that is a silver lining - I will take it! Still sure ertd is coming though. I was thinking I'd feel like an ass if I ended up pregnant after my rant yesterday! We will all get there.

Hi ladies,
Fell off the planet a bit for a few days, but I'm back now! Still no effing internet at home! Apparently it will be 'on' by the end of the week.

I'm a pity pool regular too at the moment. It's hard not to be when everyone else has the thing you want. To get around the facebook thing when people announce they are preggers on the book I hide them from my newsfeed, then (if I remember) when they get close to due day I unhide them, cos obviously I want to know when baby arrives, and actually after its born most people are ok, those that aren't just get rehidden! One of my best friends actually can't have children and had 8 rounds of IVF and then gave up, everyone in that friend group is very sensitive to that so they don't tend to trumpet on facey which good. It's just everyone else!

4 days til ERTD for me, pretty sure I'm out again this cycle but trying to be positive as I did actually ov and I have sussed that I also have a 9-10 day literal phase. Next ov ought to be halfway through our week in Greece, which is ideal, so I'm aiming for that now!!

I've got a packet of jaffa cakes on my desk which is making today much more pleasant! :D Your baking sounds yum Red.

Love for all. x

Hi guys, sorry been off. Thread for a while. I just don't get much time to sit so bit of a blanket response

but I deleted my fb account as I couldn't take all of the baby stories.

I got preggers on a 10 day literal phase so hope ahead!

Ratty mcfatty seems to have gone and hole is plugged. Phew!

I have AF pain FFS. I got OV pain on thurs and we are day 6DPO. Did blood test on fri so will get the results later.

And Andie, it's the most natural thing in the world to want kids with the person you love.

Anyone else find they get bad pmt with insomnia and mood swings? Never used to.

Report
Redshoes56 · 14/05/2013 13:41

The mood swings are bad. Worse since going off the pill (or maybe just from getting older?). I said something really horrible Sunday and as soon as it came out of my mouth I was horrified. Was hoping dh didn't hear. He did. Thankfully an apology and a blame on the hormones go far!

Report
essie81 · 14/05/2013 14:13

I find my moods swing from one thing to another more since coming off the pill, but are less extreme if that makes sense? I used to get so tearful and down on the pill which has gone now. Thankfully. Been replaced by mania instead! Hmm

Glad you've got rid of Rattymus. Gross. We get them at work sometimes in the ceiling void above the loo. Yuk!

Good to know the short literal phase is not uncommon. Shame the docs don't realise?!

Totesamazeballs · 14/05/2013 15:54

Not just me with the mean moody jibes then. Sometimes I shock myself!

I just don't get why the docs don't recognise LP defect? It is v annoying because it means you have to go privately and shell out lots of money if you want it sorted. And that isn't always an option!

Report
essie81 · 14/05/2013 16:55

LP defect must be very common, there seem to be more of us on here that have it than not? What causes it?

Anyone else watching The Apprentice?

Me neither totes but then acknowledging a problem means they would have to do something about it I guess.

On Cd 30 here and just waiting for ERTD to appear. Doing my best to distract myself and not really succeeding.

Glad you feel a big better red. I'd forgotten the feed hiding trickery whoever mentioned it ( sorry can't scroll up). I must remember to do that before I go insane.

Right, more blinking work to do. Off I go. Hi ho...

So JSed last night, planning on tonight hopefully but I'm up at 4 am tomoz so hoping I won't miss my chance with an early night. Then I'll JS tomoz and day after and then every 2 days to cover all bases... Sounds like a plan?
Gawd knows what my LP is, I haven't looked into it too deeply so I'm not sure about that. I'm so lazy at this.

I have the biggest spot on my chin. It's one of those ones you can feel growing. It wasn't there earlier and now my face is raging. Ertd is clearly imminent. Did another Poas just to be absolutely sure and thought I'd tempt fate but got a Bfn. Who wants to come to my Bfn party? There's cake and vino and some twizzly things. Really selling it, aren't I? Bring your bikinis crotchless onesies for sporty occasions for a bathe in the pity pool. It's warm! Come on in!
