Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share and with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly opk's or temp charting. They are Contraband

Hi minion, my alleged ov day is the 16th too! But my cycles have varied from 46 to 24 days over the last year (although I think the 46 one was an early miscarriage as I had a BFp, but even without that they've varied from 34-24). So I am going with JSing every other day or so throughout my cycle. But am away without DH 13th-16th so may try and do some extra before and after. I mean, it's not like its a chore Smile.
X

essie81 · 09/04/2013 13:15

Minion I'm as confused as you so I'm afraid I don't know the answer. Our strategy is to try and dtd at least every other day all month where possible. My app on my phone gives me an idea but I'm not sure how accurate it is, plus I'm not sure if the cramps I feel are pre ovulation or during?

Also confused in Oxfordshire!

Minion · 09/04/2013 13:21

It's a wonderful feeling knowing I'm not alone!
Phew thanks girls.

cookielove · 09/04/2013 14:45

I have no clue Minion we try and dtd every other day like other posters have said how ever that usually doesn't happen for us as we are usually really tired and can't be arsed sleepy. I'm just hoping that one of the times we do it will be the right time Smile

MrsAVB · 09/04/2013 14:51

I think I'd rather be confused and JS lots than start using OPKs and taking my temp everyday. Obviously it's only early days, (cycle 8 for me), and I'm not knocking those who are much less lazy and more organised than me do, but I'd rather at least pretend its not a science experiment at this stage, I think I'd turn into even more of a ttc obsessive!

Minion · 09/04/2013 15:17

Me too mrsavb.
I want hubby to actually know I want to shag him instead of him feeling I'm only doing it for an end reason. Keeping myself in check will be the hard part.
Coming off the pill for me has been a big plus. I've found out I do indeed have a sex drive I was just a slave to popping that pill and didn't realise how much I'd sacrificed for it. So after 12 years together it's quite a novelty for OH to find me jumping on him 20 mins after that go...
Blush

essie81 · 09/04/2013 15:28

MrsAVB I can't be faffed with taking my temp and recording it all either. Not my bag of cats at all. Far more fun things to do like shagging! Just hope I get a BFP before I have to resort to creating an excel spreadsheet!

Minion, I was a pill slave for 17 years and was terrified about coming off it as I originally went onto it to deal with crippling period pain in my teens. I feel great now, I've lost weight, no more tearful PMT, discovered my sex drive, and no more terrible period pain either. There obviously has to be a catch?!

MrsAVB · 09/04/2013 15:44

Definitely minion, it's hard enough to keep the romance alive anyway, without making DH feel like a sperm factory. I think as I've got older I'm also more philosophical about having children; it may or may not happen, and although I really REALLY REALLY want it to, I know I will have a full life whatever happens. Maybe I'll feel different if we pass a year of trying though...

MrsAVB · 09/04/2013 15:47

Haha... Essie Don't speak of excel spreadsheets - DH has one for everything and I am not having one for boffing!

Minion · 09/04/2013 16:18

Another one with a husband with a penchant for graphs, lists and pie charts!
The pill did some mental things to me, like yourself essie I went on it for terrible PPs and thought that was the be all and end all of it.. Coming back off it however has reinforced the reason I went on it in the first place...talk about ripping my womb out. Jesus H Christ I'd totally forgotten about the pain!
I didn't have PMS, I do now. Not bad moods thankfully, but the other crap that comes with it, the massive, sore boobs, the back ache and the mid month cramping. It's nice to think that if we get PG that we won't be having that silliness every 28(ish) days...'course the thought of pushing out a watermelon through our coochies may change that, but hey we get 9 months to come to terms with it..

MrsAVB · 09/04/2013 16:25

The pill really disagreed with me (migraines, weight gain, awful skin), I haven't been on it for about 10 years now. The depo injection was worse though - I had continuous spotting for 5 months. The things we ladies have to go through...! Although as someone who's made DH wear condoms for 5 years, maybe I shouldn't complain...

Bearface · 09/04/2013 19:28

Hello

I'm working away this week and today is the first time I've been able to get onto the internet so sorry for my absence. No Jsing for me either!

Rock - I'm so so sorry for you and your DH. Sad I don't know what to say, but as others have said, we're here for you. Take care of yourself.

Sorry I don't have much to say, but I'm so tired from work that I can't really think straight. Hope everyone is well though. x

coffeewineandchocolate · 09/04/2013 20:20

Hi all. A quick question- I'm apparently in my fertile pay of my cycle but experiencing a weird stretchy/crampy pain in my womb area? Jsed on wed, Fri and Sun... Could i be coming on early or does it sound like ovulation pains?

Bearface · 09/04/2013 22:20

Hi Coffee - obvs I'm not a doctor, but I'd say it's probably ov pain. I really never noticed it at all until we started TTC and even now I sitll don't get it every month or on a particular day, so I'd say it is more than likely ov pain, but you'll find out soon I guess. Mine is just like mild swelling and crampiness just where my ovaries are. I always use banned OPKs check my CM to see if it matches up with when the pains are happening and try to make an educated guess. Sounds like you've done well with the cape activity though! Grin Fx for you.

Bearface · 09/04/2013 22:20

*still

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 09/04/2013 22:30

No news from Humpty Towers, except that we are getting a new mattress tomorrow in order to be more inclined to DTD since the old one is like porridge, so I am polishing my cape like crazy and waiting for ERTD to end.
Hope everyone's well, and rock, thinking of you.

notsoold · 09/04/2013 23:13

Minion....re dtd it is thought that if your fertile period is between 11-17 and 16 the peak day you should aim for dtd on the 11,13,15 and again on 16( being peak) and 17.....in other words every other day plus on the peak day.
However ovulations can be early or late and dtd every other day throughout the cycle will be better for your chances.
Just to share my last two pregnancies ( including this one) it was at the end of the tww when I thought my period was going to be soon and shagged dh out of boredom( lol) that we conceived LO..
Hope it helps :)

Redshoes56 · 10/04/2013 05:03

Humpty we are in the market for a new mattress as well, since we want to have more sex want to sleep better. Did you choose a pillow top? Memory foam? There are TOO many choices. And we are terrible decision makers. Some nights we can barely decide what to have for dinner, so this should be interesting.

Coffee probably ov pain. Funny, I never noticed these things about my body before!

Ladies, I have done absolute shit at my "fertility detox" this week. I think trying to give up caffeine and gluten and meat and sugar all at once, with work and school being so insane, was not wise. So I'm doing detox "lite" and trying to eat more of the cleansing vegetables, seafood, etc. But also some meat. Need energy for the bedroom, after all!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/04/2013 08:18

red we went for a continuous coil (one up from open coil), no mem foam as I don't like it. When we buy a house, and buy our perfect mattress, it will be pocket sprung. I love those. With a pillow top for added laziness comfort.
I love bed, me Grin.

MrsAVB · 10/04/2013 09:15

Morning all!
coffee I have no idea where my womb is in relation to anything else Blush, maybe I need to learn some of these things! I also have IBS so tummy area is crampy most of the time (I do know my bowel is different to my womb though! Smile), which makes it hard to identify symptoms like ov cramps, although maybe that's a good thing from a not going crazy symptom spotting point of view.
humpty we recently bought a new bed and mattress from warren Evans, I think it's continuous coil. They often have good deals on and the service is good, plus the beds are only in 4 parts and they put it together for you.
shoes, I have being doing badly with eating too, mainly down to a disastrous clothes shopping trip on Monday eve, after which I HAD to eat a Krispy Kreme. And last night I made a batch of cookies as we have visitors this week and scraped the bowl and ate about 5 Blush. I think sugar is a problem for me. But I have been doing ok with caffeine, down to 1 cup a day... apart from when my PA makes me coffee and I don't want to ask for decaf in case she thinks I'm preggers
JSing going well (need to burn off those cookies), although why is it that the wet patch is ALWAYS on my side of the bed?
rock.. Still thinking of you and sending hugs xxxx

Minion · 10/04/2013 09:26

mrsAVB haha wet patch. I hear you sista (accompanied by clicking finger and head nod), I have devised a cunning plan for that problem. After the pivotal moment, I clench and roll onto his side for 'cuddles', unclench and roll back over to mine.
Ok, so it's not that cunning but it solves the problem of waking in the middle of the night with sheet stickage.

essie81 · 10/04/2013 09:52

Morning ladies,

Failing miserably here with the jsing. I have a sore throat so have felt like crap and has made me less than appealing to DH for the last 2 days, plus he has now gone away with work til Friday. According to my app we've missed my most fertile time but we did js a fair bit up to the day before. On the plus though we did sign the contracts for our new house yesterday which I am now allowing myself to get a teensy bit excited about. Grin

MrsAVB & Minion my DH is an analyst, we have spreadsheets for flipping everything too. You should see the one for the house purchase! Confused

coffee I have some weird tuggy sort of pains but I can never tie them in with what my app tells me and CM. It all seems a bit random to me even though ERTD is usually very regular, so I'm going to try and ignore it all and js wherever at all possible. If that doesn't work after a few months then perhaps I'll have to make a spreadsheet to track it all. Naaaat!!

notsoold thats encouraging, I'll jump on DH when he comes back from his work trip as I'll be well into the 2ww by then!!

shoes my healthy eating is going badly too, though I am managing to take my vits and eat more fruit so thats a small improvement!? I am still munching my way through my easter chocs, but with DH away I suspect they won't last much longer! Blush

humpty enjoy the new mattress! I blimming love bed too. Struggled to leave mine this morning.

rock sending you love x

MrsAVB · 10/04/2013 10:03

Haha minion, I am going to try your clench and roll strategy. I seem to remember something similar in Friends, but am sure that wasn't about wet patches!
essie my DH is an analyst too. It seems very strange to me to do that all day and then choose to create spreadsheets for how much your wife spends in sainsburys each month but hey ho. The wedding spreadsheet was ridiculous, I dread to think what monster would be created if we were to buy a house. Good luck with that haha.

Minion · 10/04/2013 10:11

That was the hug'n'roll, ours is an updated version, for modern folk like us.

essie81 · 10/04/2013 10:21

Minion haha yes! I remember the hug'n'roll. Grin

MrsAVB you've just reminded me of the Honeymoon ssheet! That was a multi tabbed colour coded nightmare. I agree, when I get home from work the last thing I want to do is use the software I've spent all day staring at. My Mum's DH analyses their fuel spend against mileage so he can work out the mpg and £pg. My poor Mum has to write the current mileage onto the receipt each time she fills up the car! Fortunately we are not at that stage yet!
