Couldn't stand a Fred with only a couple of posts left so I filled it up!

Here is the 13th installation of the Just Shagging saga. If you're a bit lazy relaxed in your approach to getting upduffed, come over here for a natter!

Fred rules;

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share Brew and Wine with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce Envy in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly opk's or temp charting. They are Contraband Shock Wink

Happy shagging shaggers Grin

Melody...I am keeping the unicorn until it grants all of us not only bfps but stickys beans. As I am a sucker for weird creatures I am feeding it ( and myself) chocolate and coconut cake xxxx

Pentagon · 25/01/2013 23:53

Cookie and Bear and everyone else waiting for BFPs - our time will come!

Whenever I get upset seeing someone pregnant, I try to think that I don't know what they've been through to get there...and it usually helps (OK with some people you know that it is all plain sailing and can't help getting upset)

What's the unicorn story!?!? (I love unicorns!) I could try to go back and find it but it's probably easier if you tell me :-)

cookielove · 26/01/2013 11:56

Bear that was a lot of cookies makes me feel very loved Smile

Pentagon i will definitely think of strangers that way, unfortunately i know that both my current work colleagues got pregnant after 1 month of trying, i also work in a baby room which i adore but makes me uber broody.

2013 will be are year and i've already had all my bad luck for this year

Rockchick1984 · 26/01/2013 12:28

distracted by the thought of lots of cookies...

Well, my first month of cheating and using OPK's and conceive plus, and it appears I ovulate later than I thought so at least I've learnt something! Am now 2ww-ing so keeping my fingers and toes tightly crossed, think I've got 9 days until either ERTD or BFP. Am full of a cold so making DH look after our toddler so I can laze in bed today, have spent most of the morning looking at prams and debating if I'll need a double or not!

Bear so glad your tests came back ok, I reckon me and you will graduate the same month this month! as we've been here far too long now!

Redshoes56 · 26/01/2013 16:49

bear so glad to hear about your tests. I hope the peace of mind from getting those results is all your body needs to do what it has to do Grin. I am cautiously optimistic that relaxing will help me get pregnant before April, my deadline before we go see a specialist. The OPKs were really useful and informative (I learned the same, rockchick) but were also driving me a little crazy. Stress is our worst enemy. I've heard more than one story now of women who go for IVF and conceive a fraternal twin naturally the same month - I think because the IVF takes the pressure off and then, whammo, egg drop. (Picturing eggs with little parachutes!)

fish88 · 26/01/2013 18:51

Hello, I have been lurking for a while now and decided it was time to indtroduce myself. Firstly, congratulations to those who have just got there BFPs. Hopefully we will all be joining you soon.

We have been TTC for only a month now. My OH is blisfully ignorant and believes we can easily get pregnant at any time of the month. I am leaving it this way as it stops me from stressing about ovulation and fertile days. Instead we are JSing all month long which I think will help to take the pressure off and keep things lively. After cycle 1 didn't work, AF has just finished so tonight it is back to shagging. I have even shaved my legs for the occassion! Grin

We have decided not to tell anyone that we are TTC and it is driving me crazy, I am not good at keeping secrets. Instead I will be coming on here to let it all out!

Pentagon · 26/01/2013 22:22

Welcome fish88! Enjoy the shag fest (can I say this here? I guess I can) and good luck!!

Red, April is also my deadline but hoping to get lucky before then, just like you! Fingers crossed for both of us - well, everyone here waiting for BFPs!

Getting drunk today/tonight after being really good during the 2WW and having my hopes crushed on Wednesday night when ERTD got me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

MotherOfCleo · 26/01/2013 22:50

Hi fish

just dropped in to say, geez, my fella turns 27 tomorrow and after being asleep on the sofa for 2 and a half hours he's gone to bed.....what a crazy cat I bagged myself lol

Bearface · 26/01/2013 23:30

Maybe you've worn him out Cleo? Wink

Hi Fish - welcome!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes about the tests.

Rock - I do hope so - it would be good to grad together, wouldn't it?

Pentagon - sorry ERTD got you.

I am just about to get my cape back on - by tomorrow I hope! Had a little Wine this evening just because I could. Grin

Bearface · 26/01/2013 23:32

Oooo Rock - I forgot to say it would be nice to have Red with us too as she's been here as long as I have I'm sure. FX for you Red - hang in there and do all you can to destress.

AQuarkTooFar · 27/01/2013 09:09

Hi pentagon nice to meet you! Hopefully month four is our month!

bear I really enjoyed my burns night. The haggis was good as was the JSIng. The crossed out bit isa burns poem called "to a mouse". Roughly translated it means "Small, crafty, cowering, timorous beast". It's the first line of the poem.

Welcome to the thread fish. I do recommend keeping it quiet as I told one friend we were going to be ttc soon and she won't shut up about it!

frogchops · 27/01/2013 10:01

Just popping in for a nosey....good news on the tests bear Grin I hope my crown is being put to good use!!
I'm missing the jsing at the mo... I just don't feel like it Confused I'm sure DP is too, altho he did just say he 'needed' a very close look to see if my nipples had changed Hmm (they havnt, lol) so.... I suppose nipple watch will continue.
Keep shaggjng girls! Xx

fish88 · 27/01/2013 10:39

Cleo - My partner is the same age as yours and I am younger and we have spent every Saturday night since New Years at home watcing DVDs and being tucked up in bed by 10pm in a bid to save money (moving house next month). Can't say we have missed the partying at all, especially with the awful weather, but I do feel that 24 is too young to have given up on going out!

Quark - My mum is already eager to be a grandma and keeps asking me if I'm pregnant yet even though she doesn't know we are TTC. Envy Couldn't bear the disappointment every month if other people knew we were TTC.

MelodyHarmony · 27/01/2013 16:13

Hi Ladies. Just checking in. Hope everyone is fine and dandy.

My new season cape looked good last night Wink. I'm not sure if I am technically TTC now though. Mr Melody is finding our three current DCs, combined with a high pressure job, all rather tiring and stressful. Last month he said he didn't think he wanted any more children and I understand his view and accept it. (At the end of the day, we have three already and our marriage and current family need to come first). When we got to DTD last night (first time this cycle), I thought Mr Melody would use a condom but he didn't... We've talked it through. In his head he thinks another baby is a mad idea but in his heart he is sort of happy to see what happens. I find that approach tricky as I am an all or nothing sort of person. But actually it will probably do me good and make it real JS- ing rather than me pretending I'm just JS-ing but actually fervently TTC!

Quark I agree about not telling people about TTC. I ended up telling loads of people when we were TTC for DC 3. It was nice to be able to talk about it but it just seemed to add to the pressure.

Bearface · 27/01/2013 16:43

Oh Quark - I know the poem well. John Steinbeck used it as inspiration for the title to 'Of Mice and Men' which is how I've come across it. I'd just never seen it written in dialect before. 'The best laid schemes of mice and men. Go often awry' - how appropriate for TTC!

Frog - crown is looking good but not had much opportunity to be dramatic yet. I'll have to think of something . . .

Sorry to hear that Melody if it's not what you want, but glad for you if it is?! Confused

I agree that it gets really annoying if you tell people. Poeple are so nosey and want to know all the time anyway and IMO it fuels the fire even more! I've only told a couple of close friends mainly because I was going through the tests and wanted to talk to someone. They're really good though and will only ever mention it if I bring it up first. They're good mates. Smile

Bearface · 27/01/2013 16:49

Oh yes - forgot to say I'm just waiting for ERTD to do one. It's been another long ERTD so I'm concerned it means another anovulatory cycle. Hmph. DH says I can't possibly know and he's right. Also, I do know that I can ovulate on my own now, which is good, but I'm not sure it happens every month. So I feel that maybe I'm out of the game this month before I've even got started.

I do have a question though. If I have a longer period as I'm having now, does that mean the anovulatory cycle could have been the previous one or the current one I'm on? I'm a bit Confused but thinking that surely it would have been the last one as the bleed comes from that one? Sorry - I've been overthinking this and now can't process it! Help please.

Bearface · 27/01/2013 16:50

Oh yes and to confuse matters further I know for sure that I ov'd last cycle because the blood tests confirmed it. Confused? I am!

fish88 · 27/01/2013 17:24

Sorry I can't give any advice Bear but just wanted to say that I hope you work out your cycles soon. There is always still hope until ERTD starts.

I am also confused about my cycles as they haven't settled down since I came off BCP 3 months ago. Would just like to know whether I am ovulating or not so I know whether I have a chance at the minute rather than getting too excited about something that isn't going to happen yet.

MrsBri · 27/01/2013 17:38

Hi all...just a little de-lurk!

Fish, my cycles hadn't settled after coming off the pill before I got pregnant! They were 28, 26, 32, 30 then pregnant. But I think I was on a 29 day cycle going by OV! Just shag regularly and you'll give yourself the best chance :-)

fish88 · 27/01/2013 18:06

Thanks MrsBri, that's given me some hope. Smile In December I had a 39 day cycle then 31 this month so seems to be getting back to normal. Been on BCP for 10 years so really not sure what my cycle should look like. We are trying to DTD every other day so hopefully that will give us the best chance. FX for everyone this month

MrsBri · 27/01/2013 18:11

I'd been on some form of birth control for 17.5 years, with 11.5 of that on the injection. Fx your cycles are getting there, but as long as you're DTD regularly you're giving yourself the best chance :-)

fish88 · 27/01/2013 18:17

Very reassuring, thanks for the support. Everyone on this Fred is so lovely Thanks

Rockchick1984 · 27/01/2013 18:28

Bear, I know it's against all that is holy and legal on JSing, but why not get some OPK's just to put your mind at rest? Logically the anovulatory cycle would have just finished if a long bleed was the symptom - is it possible that you have a longer bleed when you've ovulated, and a shorter bleed when you haven't as there's not as much to get rid of? That's pure conjecture though, I have no actual clue!!

cookielove · 27/01/2013 19:18

Evening all, fish i agree this is a lovely thread, makes everything i am going through so much better when i have all this great support.

My period was 2 days long whats up with that?

MelodyHarmony · 27/01/2013 23:11

Ooh Bear that's all a puzzle to me. I would assume the bleed is related to the previous cycle but we call it the start of the next cycle as it is the easiest marker to pinpoint. I've confused myself now Confused
Try the contraband Sorry, did I say that out loud?

Sorry, but I can't offer any post-birth control and new cycles advice. I used to get terrible migraines from the pill back in the day so we've used condoms for the last 14 years.

Cookie your two day ERTD is another mystery. Your body is a bit hay-wire at the moment, isn't it?

Spent half the evening sobbing after watching Call The Midwife. Might have to give that programme a wide berth for a while.

Night all. I trust some of you are just donning your capes Wink
Sweet dreams my fellow JSers.
