Couldn't stand a Fred with only a couple of posts left so I filled it up!

Here is the 13th installation of the Just Shagging saga. If you're a bit lazy relaxed in your approach to getting upduffed, come over here for a natter!

Fred rules;

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share Brew and Wine with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce Envy in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly opk's or temp charting. They are Contraband Shock Wink

Happy shagging shaggers Grin

Bye all ....:)
Really like this thread!!!

Bearface · 11/01/2013 23:50

Hello

In my quest for obsession with information on TTC, I came across this article from The Daily Mail. I just thought some of you ladies might find it of interest. As I am inclined to ignore the crap science only take the positives from it, it has given me a little bit of hope which I need to carry me through this 2ww. Thought it might help someone else too.

Happy weekend shagging, shaggers!

Bearface · 11/01/2013 23:50

Oh - forgot to post the link. Here you are:

www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2095906/Struggling-year-pregnant-You-try-says-study.html

AndieDisestablishment · 12/01/2013 00:38

Bear I think they say 7months - 2 years is about right to conceive anyway so we should all stop stressing [haha, listen to me!] I try not to read Daily Mail articles anymore as the commenters raise my blood pressure.lol

Everyone seems a bit more upbeat now the weekend is here.

Cookie That's a shame about your car. Sad DP has his van written off in the summer so I feel your pain. At least you weren't hurt though.

Been applying for jobs like a mad thing. Decided if I start thinking about something else then I might get a nice surprise. ERTD due in a week so I'm sticking around til then, if it arrives I'll be taking a break from MN to avoid thinking about TTC everyday too much.

Bearface · 12/01/2013 00:57

Too right Andie - I didn't scroll down as far as the comments as I knew I'd get too Angry Yes, 2 years - flip me that's a long time. Feel sorry now for those people who've been at it that long and longer. Good luck with the job hunting.

What am I still doing on here? I need my bed my head read Night night.

frogchops · 12/01/2013 07:19

Fmu test at 12dpo. BFN. Sad

Hooya · 12/01/2013 08:18

Toby is it your wedding? If so, hope you have a brilliant brilliant day!

frog sorry if it's not this month, fx for next

Andie good luck with the job apps! I also like to duck in and out of MN to avoid the obsession!

Elektra sorry about job stuff, just think how wonderfully distracting it will be when you get pg!

I have a symptom! My nipples are so sore, even putting a bra on is painful! Shock

Happy Saturday to everyone!

TobyLerone · 12/01/2013 08:22

It is :) I will join back in with the shagging thread with a vengeance after!

MelodyHarmony · 12/01/2013 09:24

COO EEE, MORNING ALL!

Happy wedding day Toby . What? We're not invited? Wink

Sorry about BFN Frog Sad. You may still be testing too early.

Bear the article is interesting surprisingly so, for the Daily Mail. It took 14 months to conceive my DC3. I didn't seek any treatment, despite being over the hill 35 at the time. We just thought maybe it wasn't meant to be and we'd forget about it. I got my head back to being content with the lovely 2 DCs I already had. Then, BAM, pregnant!

Off to tackle Tescos (grrrr!)

MotherOfCleo · 12/01/2013 09:31

have a fab day toby Grin

cookielove · 12/01/2013 10:48

Have a great day Toby!!

Bearface · 12/01/2013 10:50

These are the stories I like Melody!

Happy wedding day Toby - hope it goes splendidly!

Bearface · 12/01/2013 10:50

Frog - sorry about the BFN - but agree with Melody that it still might be too early.

MelodyHarmony · 12/01/2013 11:03

Glad to be of service Bear. At the time it was very tricky. I'd conceived my others quickly - 4 months (MMC), 2 months (DC1), 1 month (DC2) - so I couldn't help comparing with them and then coming to the conclusion that I was now infertile and blaming myself for not VBACing with DC2 and obsessing over how the extra CS scar tissue must have affected my uterus... But now DC3 is crawling around eating everything in sight and being just the most delightful little addition to our family that it's easy to forget all the disappointment and tears that occured along the way to getting him here!

We'll all get there in the end x

Cortana · 12/01/2013 11:54

Melody, I'm with you this month. No more testing here, no more negatives in this house. Love your positive story though, really gives hope.

Happy belated birthday Bear. I still cannot thank you enough for helping me find this thread. I feel like I have somewhere to come hide.

Sorry about BFN Rockchick. DS took one go, literally one shag to conceive. I felt very down around month 5-7 of TTC. For my age I should have been able to conceive within 6 months and I felt like "I should have done this by now!". I know it's cliche but you have to keep telling yourself, everyone is different and most people manage it without any problems albeit sometimes a bit later than they had hoped. I am sending many hugs your way.

Lovely news on your BFP collection Hooya, and your scan. I hope the two weeks flies by in a very uneventful way for you. Remember, time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana.

Good advice on the EPO Kitten, will get DP to holland and barrett.

Sorry about your car Cookie, glad you're okay though.

Congrats on your wedding Toby, will your cape be white to match the dress Wink

ERTD has finally fucked off to the far side of fuck! I am donning my cape for the whole of January, a lovely MNer sent me a book on fertility. A positive start to month 15, DP and I read a bit of the book together last night and felt more positive about going for the tests etc. We're still at the beginning of our TTC journey and there is so much more to come.

frogchops · 12/01/2013 12:14

Advice please! Have just told DP that I tested this am (he was asleep when I did it!) and showed him the bfn. I did it in the dark as not to wake him and with the light from my phone it was bfn. Now I've showed him, there is a faint (almost invisible to the naked obsessive eye line. Question is....how often do people get evap lines on cheapies?? Don't wana build my hopes up. It's not even dark enough to see if the line is the same colour as the control. But def there. ConfusedConfused

Cortana · 12/01/2013 12:29

I had lots of evap lines after ten mins with ic Frog. I see lines when there's not even an evap there. If it is a line it will still be there tomorrow. Try not to torture yourself, test with FMU when you can see the results.

frogchops · 12/01/2013 13:15

'twas an evap line Hmm. My hopes were up, now they're not Hmmwill maybe test tomorrow. Happy wedding day Toby!!

AndieDisestablishment · 12/01/2013 14:12

Don't be disheartened Frog, maybe wait until ERTD is properly late?

Toby Hope you have a wonderful day.

BelleEtLaBete · 12/01/2013 15:19

Frog my lovely, I didn't get a clear bfn on an ic until 10 days after my bfp on a FRER. Break out the special occasion first response go on you know you want to and I want you on the grads Fred Grin

13dpo is still pretty early and I was days and days late before I got lines on ic's, and even then so so faint. Fx for you xx

BelleEtLaBete · 12/01/2013 15:20

clear bfp that should say, sorry!

Redshoes56 · 12/01/2013 15:23

Thanks for the article, Bear, it really made me feel good today as I get ready for my friend?s baby shower ? and happy birthday to you! And happy wedding day Toby! (So much going on!)

Cookie, car accidents really are emotionally draining; I hope you are doing OK. You too, Elektra, sorry to hear about your job situation. Frog and thethreeblondes, keep testing. Maybe it is just too soon?fingers crossed!

ERTD is worse than usual. I went to bed at 9 p.m. last night with horrible cramps, a headache and a general bout of bitchiness. Kitten, I might go buy some EPO today. The vit B6 did absolutely nothing to lengthen my luteal phase, it seemed to just delay ovulation. No thank you, off that now.

Hope you are all off having a lovely weekend!

MelodyHarmony · 12/01/2013 16:25

Chin up for the baby shower Red. I'm here to hold your hand if you need it.

I've still not seen the two, yes TWO, new babies that were born to (separate) friends of mine this week. But I am all ready with little parcels and cheery smiles for when I do see them. I've got over my bout of jealousy now.

Cortana are you due soon? (Sorry, I've totally lost track if when everyone is due to POAS, don the JS-ing cape or be hiding out on the symptom spotting cave).

I've always said on here that I'd rather have ERTD show up than see a BFN and I've been thinking that through and wondering WHY I think like that. Am I the exception to the rule?

If you don't mind saying...
Who else prefers (prefers, not enjoys) to see ERTD than a BFN? Or who would rather (rather, not enjoy) have a BFN than the witch?
Just thought it would be interesting to know.

Also, what's happened to that unicorn?

Cortana · 12/01/2013 16:44

Ditto Red. Chin up. I may bump into you as I am also getting some EPO today Grin. If I think I've spotted you I'll wear my coat like a cape

ERTD has just left Melody, glad to see the back of it. I would rather see BFN that ERTD, I can gear myself up for the BFN. But, I am sick off pissing away money, even IC add up. I promised this month I would not shart, symptom spot or worry about it, and fertility friend goes and gives me 5 days free trial.

Bearface · 12/01/2013 16:46

Glad to be of service Cortana and thanks for the birthday wishes. Also I'm pleased that some of you found the article hope-inducing even if it does come from the Daily Mail

I am sticking my head out of the symptom spotting cave door but am generally lurking there at the moment.

Melody - I think I might be the exception to the rule as I would rather see a BFN than ERTD as I figure you can get false negatives, but once ERTD has turned up, it's game over until the next cycle, so I'd rather squeeze every last ounce of hope out of each month for me personally.

I think Gary ran off with the unicorn tucked under her arm.
