Couldn't stand a Fred with only a couple of posts left so I filled it up!

Here is the 13th installation of the Just Shagging saga. If you're a bit lazy relaxed in your approach to getting upduffed, come over here for a natter!

Fred rules;

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share Brew and Wine with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce Envy in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly opk's or temp charting. They are Contraband Shock Wink

That should be my predicted af days!

Bearface · 09/01/2013 16:29

Blimey Quark - technology - gah! Get peeing! Grin Thank goodness for boredom at work otherwise you might not have found out!

Bearface · 09/01/2013 16:32

Hello to Chocoloulou (recognise you from the Bus fred) and GeckoMum.

Gecko - I'm the one out of my friends who is struggling and they all managed it really easily. It's shit if it happens to you, but everyone here is very supportive. Try not to stress she repeats to herself. I'm sure you'll be okay. Get shagging though - it's the only way to find out.

MotherOfCleo · 09/01/2013 16:33

Hi Gecko snap, I can only talk to my OH and he's deffo not obsessive like me. My best mate knows too but I'm sure she doesn't want to listen to me constantly. That leaves me typing on MN Smile

I worked it out the other day and mostly my friends have needed 6/7 months to get a bun in the oven, I am on month 4, but the first 2 months were JSing where as I'm more specific with my timing now does not use the forbidden words TTC Wink

Also don't listen to your friends, most mums kind of forget about childbirth once they have the bubba in their arms, apart form my evil ex friend who was scared to tell people as she said it it was so awful....turns out she had to be cut and had 5 stitches..I was expecting far worse from all her fuss! she is an immense drama queen though Plus she is now upduffed with bubba number 2 and her DS is only 13 months. Us women are made of stern stuff I really want a family and I am currently not at all worried about childbirth, it will be worth it when I have someone please make it a baby girl to call me mummy.

I don't know about healthcare, I don't have private cover so will be NHSing it all the way.

MotherOfCleo · 09/01/2013 16:36

Geez quark scary shit! That's why I have 2 apps, I enter my info in each but they seem to have slightly different algorithms and give slightly different fertile days.....bloody tech, in trying to make it simpler I just stress myself out lol

Geckomum2 · 09/01/2013 17:01

Thanks, feeling much better now! And breathe!!! Grin

Rockchick1984 · 09/01/2013 17:25

Gecko as far as I'm aware none of the UK healthcare providers offer maternity cover apart from for complications, generally it's only if you're covered by an international policy and even those have a clause where you must have the policy in place for a specific time (a year or 2) before fallin pregnant. My own experience with the NHS when I had DS was outstanding, couldn't fault them. Depending on your reasons for preferring private maternity care you may have to either pay (I've not used but have heard figures quoted around £12k excluding things like caesarean) or you could hire an independent midwife which would be closer to £2k.

Thanks all for the sympathy, am going to test again tomorrow if there's still no sign of AF - cant believe I'm the resident JS pensioner :)

notsoold · 09/01/2013 17:34

Bear...altogether would be 4 dc for us. Dh in the past suffered with anxiety but as he gets older he is getting more confident in handling bad situations. I used my charmnagging and being demented but from agreeing to have 2 babies to actually js when needed instead of messing with music is a completely different history.....:)
I know it is silly and I many want their first but I am trying to be positive again and I will grab and hold any bit of good news....including bfps for everyone here!!! So stop reading , get your capes and jsing ladies:)

Hooya scan tomorrow!!! Wow!!! Come and tell us straight away!!!

Gecko welcome!!!

Andy sorry for the whole thing....

If we have a unicorn can I please get a nice fairy granting wishes????

Bearface · 09/01/2013 18:18

Oh no - I wasn't taking away from what you were saying about wanting another notso - every baby is special to their parents. It doesn't matter that others are on their first and you're on 3 - it affects us all in the same way, doesn't it? Smile

notsoold · 09/01/2013 18:18

Gecko...I also do not discuss ttc in rl as most of my friends would call us crazy as our youngest is 13...telling parents was difficult because they get upset when things do not go well...
You are among listeners!!!

cookielove · 09/01/2013 18:43

Andie i hope you get your BFP this month and everything sorts it self out Smile

Helloo Gecko

I seem to be getting into a twist with how long my cycle is i have always counted from beginning to beginning, and my friend tells me i should be counting end to beginning, who's right?

Kittenkatzen · 09/01/2013 18:50

You are right cookie - day 1 is the first day of proper red bleeding (spotting doesn't count). So that makes the last day of your cycle the day before your next AF (which obviously you won't know till it's happened. So if AF arrives on CD28, then that day becomes CD1 and you have just had a 27 day cycle.

HTH Smile

cookielove · 09/01/2013 19:28

Oh good that helps lots Kitten

MotherOfCleo · 09/01/2013 19:33

well i went to the docs today for my blood test results done after I thought i missed a period everything is within normal ranges and my doc was lovely, he said he saw no reason I should conceive easily but said he would be happy to refer me if i ever felt the need Smile feel good to know in some way im normal lol

Rockchick1984 · 09/01/2013 19:37

twirls how does it look??? Grin

MelodyHarmony · 09/01/2013 20:11

Congratulations on all the BFPs I've missed. How many are we up to? Does anyone know?

Andie and Rockchick let's get you both a BFP this month. I've ordered two from Amazon for you.

Hi if I've not met you I'm Melody, 37 (quite old with dusty eggs), JS-ing for baby #4 (yes, I know), cycle 1, donned the JS cape quite a bit last week, now in the 2ww and desperately trying not to symptom spot.

I need a of massive proportions. This is worse than symptom spotting, this is worse than when I was looking at double buggies the other week. A good friend had her first baby today and I feel really angry about the news. Really really annoyed about the whole thing. What kind if a cow does that make me? I've already got three DCs for goodness sake. I'm horrified with my reaction but I can't shake it off. It's not even like I didn't know she was pregnant, I've seen her growing belly every week over the past nine months.

Ho hum.

MotherOfCleo · 09/01/2013 20:54

meant ro say 'shouldnt conceive easily' doh

notsoold · 09/01/2013 22:31

Bear...I totally got you!!! Don't worry:)

Rock your cape is looking glam hun!!!

Melody...not a hooya but a cuppa and a coconut cake so you feel better because your ( and mine) day will come...:)

Motherofcleo...to be told you are normal is a very good thing isn't??? :)

Bearface · 09/01/2013 23:17

Thanks Notso Smile

Melody - can you order me one too? I totally understand your reaction and yes, it is quite mean, BUT it's a really human reaction too. It's understandable to be jealous. I try really hard not to be, but I can't help it sometimes. Although at the same time it doesn't stop me from being happy for people. I just wish I could join in the happiness too. My friend's dad has just been diagnosed with what looks like terminal cancer and I keep feeling guilty for thinking about myself and TTC. I feel really selfish, but it doesn't stop me from doing it. I guess I just need to separate them in my head. One doesn't affect the other and I suppose it could be the same for you Melody if that helps, then maybe you won't feel so jealous and I won't feel so guilty. Hope this makes sense.

I've got another blood test tomorrow on my burfday really hoping that this one shows that I've ovulated. Glad your blood tests worked out Cleo - what a relief!

chocoloulou33 · 09/01/2013 23:39

Wow just read all todays messages & wayyy too many for me to comment on lol. But hope your all ok & best be seeing some bfp's on here by the weekend :) ps I think I've been counting my cycle wrong then Confused say last month I thought I had a 28 day cycle. I got my af on 4th of jan which was cd 28. So I thought that meant I had a 28 day cycle that month or was it a 27 day cycle goes & flushes head down toilet for being so dim

Cortana · 09/01/2013 23:54

Bearface and LotsaTuddles - if you're still scratching try a few handfuls of porridge tied up in the foot of your tights. Whack it in your bath. It's bliss. When my eczema is bad I use it two days in a row and wooooooow it's so much better.

I believe you thethreeblondies, thousands wouldn't Wink

Do it Frog, I would. 10dpo involved me peeing on anything that doesn't move!

CONGRATS LadyFlumpalot! Lovely news Thanks

My PMS is worse now Rockchick1984, it's the stress of it. Sorry about BFN.

Loving your optimism notsoold, let's hope it's infectious.

I have my fingers crossed that all works out well for you Andie

OMG Quark and MotherofCleo, I use FF. Will maybe use another to be safe.

Redshoes56 · 10/01/2013 02:43

I am way behind on the thread in just a day! Sorry, rock - I think I'm right behind you on the disappointment train. Spotting and feeling ERTD right around the corner. Double Wine for us. thethreeblondies -- the heat is on you to get a BFP on Friday now!

melody, don't be so hard on yourself. It really is natural to feel jealousy, even for people we love dearly and know that we are also happy for. I have a few friends who seem to get pregnant just by being in the same room as their husbands and I want to scream, "Save some for the rest of us!"

I am a little emotional about going to my good girlfriend's baby shower on Saturday, but I feel mostly very positive. She had a very hard time getting pregnant more than two years trying before getting help from a specialist so I really am thrilled for her.

Strangely, the day after the baby shower, I have a memorial service to go to. It's going to be very sad (accompanist for our choir took his life). Puts my "problems" in perspective. Another visit from AF is no big deal. Shag cape on for next round.

MrsBri · 10/01/2013 06:35

Hello...quickie here!

If your AF starts in the morning, that day is CD1. If it's the afternoon, the next day is CD1 :-)

Now, get shagging!

frogchops · 10/01/2013 08:53

I caved didnt I Blush
Bfn. It's 10dpo I think but cortana made me do it Confused
Did I do it too early? Should I just stop moaning and look forward to next month back in the shag wagon?
