Hello ladies, on the van today so will post more in the evening, hope your all ok.

Coathanger · 07/03/2006 08:26

Morning!

WWW - good to see you here, although the circumstances that have brought you here aren't the best :( but you will get mega support from the ladies on here. I wish you all the best xxx

Its a rather emotional morning for me. I did some deep thinking last night and , although I have done this on many, many occasions but always returned, I will be leaving this thread for good. I am not going to have anymore children, and I am enjoying college enough I think to direct my energy towards that. My TTC days are over for good now so there really isn't any point me being here.
I wish you all so much luck and happinass, and of course a good helping of

ps. If you do want me for anything I will be on the chat thread :)

rubles · 07/03/2006 08:37

All the best Coathanger. I hope you feel contentment in what you choose to do - if you do you are a lucky woman. Maybe once you get working with all those pregnant/labouring women you might consider it again, or maybe not, maybe it'll put you off forever!

FirstNikki · 07/03/2006 10:03

Morning ladies,

CH sorry to see you go from here you will be missed, but I will still be chatting to you on the other thread. Best of luck with your course and being a MW.

G4P - yes we were having a takeover at work but that fell through so now its a waiting game could be made redundant will know more in a week or 2 hopefully. Been looking for a job, but wanting to hold out for redundancy if thats the case cos I have been there 10 years.

Rubles - likes already been said try focusing on something like getting fit or go for a walk. Or meet up with friends. I am currently focusing on getting slim as I have a few pounds to lose! Also started walking too which is great, DH comes with me.

www how are you today?

Everyone else, Oinker, Debbsy, Piffle, Nicola, Smole, Mygirl, HK, Diddle and anyone else I have missed ?? xx

mrsmaddyd · 07/03/2006 10:08

Coathanger, good luck babes in all that you do, i have always rooted for you and im sorry you havnt fallen pg but you sound posotive and if college is going well then go for it girl. Be Happy and Take Care xxxxxxxx

mygirllolipop · 07/03/2006 10:39

Morning everyone,
sorry it's late, DD1 had a 'little accident' at 5am and been awake since so when DD3 went back to sleep so did I!
CH - I can understand how hard this decision must have been for you. I hope you feel strong and at peace now you have made this decision. We'll be glad to have you back if yoou change your mind or want to post support to someone. Good luck with the interview but you don't need it, you are brill and will be a great midwife. But we'll still speak thru other boards/means.

OP posts:
muppet3 · 07/03/2006 11:09

CH - thank you for all the sound advice and support you've given me, and so many others on here Smile You are a wise lady, and a great midwive-to-be. Your patients will be lucky to have you.

Hey rubles - dancing is working for dh and me. Loads of beginners classes in London. We've enrolled in a ballroom dancing class once a week after work, and we're practising lots in between. It's so nice to spend some time each week together, learning something, getting some exercise, and not thinking about ttc or dwelling on m/c. Plus dancing often leads to a more horizontal form ... Wink

FirstNikki · 07/03/2006 11:11

lol muppet so glad you have found a passtime for you and dh to enjoy and take your mind off things. How is life treating you now??

FirstNikki · 07/03/2006 11:11

sorry muppet I was lol at the leading to horizontal position Blush

rubles · 07/03/2006 11:33

Thank you all for your ideas. Basically I need to just buck my ideas up and get a life!! I know it was obvious but you have all made me think straight...I've got a book on the go again so that when the 2ww comes around that will hopefully absorb my thoughts, and I shall start planning what to do with the garden as I have let that go too much since having dd and I used to love doing that before. (I can do research on that when I am at work too.) And I'll take up dancing again which I was doing last year with a male (gay) friend, (dh would have to babysit) plus the odd swim/gym to get me toned. Fab. Decisions made. Feel re-invigorated now I have a plan.

Thanks all, you are loves. xxx

muppet3 · 07/03/2006 11:55

That sounds like a great plan, rubles. V jealous you have a garden - that would be my dream full-time occupation. A world away from the civil service ...

Hiya Nikki - thanks for the laughter Smile I'm ok - feel like I'm slowly recovering from depression, definitely more good days than bad now. DH is struggling a bit though - unsurprising as I've been such a moody cow of late. But we're moving on, and sticking with the ttc lark, albeit a bit more hesitantly. How're you doing?

rubles · 07/03/2006 12:11

Well....'garden' might be stretching it a bit, it is teeny tiny.

Your poor DH Muppet. You have to both give each other helping hands I suppose - when you are feeling good you support him and vice versa when you are down. Hopefully soon you'll be on an even keel and you'll be a better and stronger couple for it.

FirstNikki · 07/03/2006 12:55

Great you have a plan rubles don't be too hard on yourself though. Before you know you will be in a whirl wind with your garden, dancing, book etc. things will happen naturally. I think the ttc lark can get rather obsessive at times because we so desparately want our dreams.

Muppet please you are getting better and having more good days than bad. Men are sometimes difficult to understand because although they are hurting too they don't show us or tell us and we have to get our mystic meg balls out again. My dh tends to close up and won't talk about things and it frustrates the hell out of me, but slowly he is getting better like grief it takes time to get them to talk about their feelings so that in turn you can talk about yours without being seen as moody etc.

I am doing something positive with my life too, losing weight, also noticed there is a jobs fair in Leicester in a couple of weeks so I am going to go there and see if there are any exciting jobs. RBS will be there and I quite like the idea of getting on one of their graduate programmes. I know I am ttc, or at least will be once job sorted but I was never intending to have loads of time off so I can't see a problem in getting a good job and after 6 months begin trying for bubba....I am a loyal and hardworking person so fingers crossed.

rubles · 07/03/2006 13:07

Sounds like a good idea FirstNikki to get something lined up just in case then potentially you could be moving on to a better job and getting a lump sum. What would your redundancy package be like? Ours is rubbish, we get the government minimum of a week for every year we have worked with them - so I get 11 weeks pay if I get made redundant (and there's a realistic chance of that sometime soon).

Piffle · 07/03/2006 13:54

Afternoon, hope everyone is doing ok.
I'm still enjoying my month off ttc. Am still lacking energy to do much tbh after the miscarriage. Have got appt with assisted conception clinic in July, seems like so long to wait but then we've been trying for no 3 for 3 years o not that long I guess.
Dp working away 2 nights a week is not helping either....

FirstNikki · 07/03/2006 14:45

oh rubles thats a shame that you maybe in the same boat re job, same here a government handout nothing more so 10wks pay i started as a temp so I miss out on 6months...typical. It is a worry with the ttc too though it just doesn't fit into my baby plans how dare they Smile. trying to remain positive and thinking if it takes me 6-12months to find and settle into a job then thats the way its got to be before we get our bundle of joy. For me I will be a working mum as we have no choice and my mum will help with childcare so its still important for me to get a good job.

Piffle glad you enjoying the break and I hope you get some answers from the clinic, you never know you might have some news before then Smile Whats your dp doing for a job? Can you make those nights into pamper nights for you where you relax and you things for you to try and make things a little easier. Although I appreciate you will want him home with you.

going4potty · 07/03/2006 16:38

Hello ladies hope your all ok, nikki and rubles i think the uncertainty of job stability etc is awful, dh actually relaxed once he was told than got a job in three weeks plus his redundancy so keep your chins up it may be the best thing to happen to you if it does. Piffle hope your feeling ok and good luck for the appt. Ch good luck in all you do.
Smole, niccola, diddle, my girl and www and everone ive missed hi and hope your having a good day. Of to the drs now then may go out later so may post later or tomorrow.

Coathanger · 07/03/2006 18:15

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement :)

Good luck to you all xxxxxx

oinker · 07/03/2006 19:54

Is anyone going to the r/c mc meeting with Prof Reagan and Richard Warren on Thursday ?....
www.rcog.org.uk/meeting.

Piffle · 07/03/2006 20:02

Thanks for the thoughts girls - I do like this ttc board a lot :)
Nikki Dp works as a software/project manager/ business plan implementer in a very vigorous aviation market - he needs to "be where it's at " 3 days a week" and thats 250 miles away.
We did know that when we moved though.
Hopefully it will not be too detrimental on the ttc front though...

oinker · 07/03/2006 20:33

Smole.... I have just realised we are the same age and TTC.
Has anyone at hospital or docs said anything negative to you about your age?
Have you been referred to a r/c m/c clinic for tests?

diddle · 08/03/2006 07:37

COATHANGER!!!! - Good luck for your interview Grin

weewilliewinkie · 08/03/2006 08:23

Morning ladies...

Hope you're all well today...

I like this board too! Smile

Awkward moment yesterday...was at a play afternoon with ds and loads of other mums and tots...one lady looked at me and said...'ooh, how are you? I keep forgetting there's another baby on the way - you don't look pregnant!'....me: ' emm...actually I'm not any more....Sad'. I felt just awful, this poor girl had no idea and I could see how embarrassed she felt. I then spent 10 minutes reassuring her and telling her not to feel bad, she wasn't to know, etc etc...

And everyone else who came to me with sympathy and cuddles just made me well up. This whole business really is a nightmare, isn't it?

On a more positive note, I feel quite ok today! Hope you all do too....

going4potty · 08/03/2006 08:29

Good morning ladies, hope you all ok???
Well ive been holding out on you ladies, but just wanted everything confirmed by doc.
