No Symptoms, No Google, No sticks

Due to overwhelming monthly disappointments, a few of us have decided to go the traditional route.

Coupled with that, we know that one CAN'T have pregnancy symptoms unless one is ACTUALLY pregnant and that only actually happens after implantation. Which is normally about 10DPO then it takes a couple days to show up in the urine etc etc so pregnancy symptoms can only really be felt at about 13DPO.

The purpose of this thread is three fold:

  • Support in TTC (mostly for first-timers)
  • No symptom spotting allowed AT ALL
  • Trying to exclude sticks (but we know that sometimes they're necessary)

So this will be practical application of theories and science.

We pledge to be honest and open and practical.
We pledge to give utmost support to each other in our struggle TTC
And we pledge to not give false hope or support symptom spotting until well after 13DPO

There is a difference between overweight and morbidly obese. I doubt there are many morbidly obese people.

And as much as smoking or alcohol or drugs is bad for a baby, so is being heavily overweight. They are all personal life style choices.

So yes, considering I stopped smoking and drinking and took up exercise to lose the extra weight, it does punch me if someone smokes, drinks and is roughly the size and weight of a killer whale (line taken from J.K Rowling's Harry Potter so you can go yell at her if you don't like it) and they fall pregnant at the drop of a hat.

I won't respond to any of your posts after this one.

Thanks for your input though. I do appreciate your feedback and hope you have a fun rest of your life.

"There is a difference between overweight and morbidly obese"... um, not in regard to whether or not people have feelings and the capacity to be hurt by other people's meanspirited, sophomoric comments about how often they probably 'get laid'.

Which was the point. Hope you have a nice life too, and that when you do have children you find some way to instill a sense of kindness and decency in them, rather than teaching them that it's funny and cool to degrade other people for cheap laughs.

KickingUpQuestions · 25/05/2012 16:40

It's quite sad. I was just in a store where there were some larger ladies looking at bags and bags of sweets. They were discussing the one larger lady's daughter who was obviously not there.

They were joking about how they were going to buy the daughter sweets and hide them in her bag when she goes off to "fat camp" because "that will make her popular"

So I guess if they respect themselves, others will too.

OP posts:
KickingUpQuestions · 25/05/2012 16:44

And to add to that, when that severely obese person has a child and that child does land up having to go to "fat camp" (their words), is that not child abuse?

KFFOREVER · 25/05/2012 21:15

wow what the hell has happened to this thread. I don't think its fair to diss anyone on here. Lets all look at our own individual situations and lets all focus on ttc our own babies. No one is perfect. x

Pinkie29 · 26/05/2012 10:12

Wow that's a healthy attitude for their kids :/ and how big are they that they need a fat camp? Sad I agree it's nothing short of child abuse if you starve your child something's done and the school/social services are involved it should be the same where a child is very overweight.

It's a shame it's always a taboo subject and I'll admit my original comment was childish (did say that when I said it) but think its time we got back on track!

Shall I kick it off by heading to the toilet with google and 30 pregnancy tests at 4dpo?!

I'm also very Envy of women that snap back into shape 3 weeks after giving birth! Seriously my sil is skinner than me hiss!

KickingUpQuestions · 26/05/2012 18:08

Will hopefully manage it again later tonight though as back in work early tomorrow morning and I'm always knackered in the evenings when I'm on earlies! So reckon it will be back to eod from tomorrow.

Wow I'm very impressed with all the exercise that's been going on - I've spend the majority of the weekend say on my butt in the garden! You've guilted me into a spin class at the gym today!

Happy 6 month anniversary kicking, hope you had a lovely day :)

Pinkie29 · 28/05/2012 07:50

Oooh I love spin Grin I think the weather defo helped as it was just so nice out

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 08:27

Ah it did pink. We bible along for a few hours but didnt go very far. Time in the saddle!!

Had an awesome big bowl of fruit salad and just enjoyed the sun. Swam and read outside. Was grand!!

Worked out that last month, we could really have not missed OV so counted that as our the first month dtd and not poas.

So seven months before that of try to catch OV and on our second month of HLR (humping like rabbits) now.

I feel like i am training for a massive race. And that every cycle we aren't pregnant is one cycle closer to when we are.

I feel like we are nearly there aren't

Pinkie29 · 28/05/2012 10:53

I'm praying we've got it this month but who knows at least I'll now hopefully have the chance at conceiving every month like most people and not every 6 weeks or more!

KickingUpQuestions · 28/05/2012 11:08

I have no idea how people do the 6 week or longer cycle. I am lucky that mine is 4 weeks exactly.

Are you feeling a bit more settled and regular? I really hope that stuff is working for you!!!

I did the OV test thing online and it reckons my fertile time is from 1 June - 6 June so am setting it from tonight for the next 12 days. That takes me to CD 25 or CD26 so should be enough. I hope
