TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Firstly welcome all the newbies! This tread suddenly became very busy! Nice to know there is so many of us who go crazy when it come to ttc, but try to appear same for the outsiders. Grin Grin
I'm for guru! Grin
Nicola - re you stopping pill and feeling your woman bits 'awakening' I felt the same after stopping pill! I was quite good feeling. Smile
Re ov stick - I do think they are good idea, I know they can't tell you when you exactly drop an egg, but they can pin point when you ov which should mean that soon after ov you will release an egg, so hopefully if you dtd around this time a bit more, it's give you a better chance to fall pg! Compare to not knowing when you ov or base your knowledge on online ov calculators, which in no way can be accurate, because as it was said in here already every woman is different and has ov at different time.
Newbie I think is good idea that you using ov sticks through out the cycle, I think it will give you better idea how is your body working! I'm doing the same. Testing everyday twice morning and evening to see when I'm going to ov this months.
Also other reason is that last month we dtd every other day, almost every day around my ov (my ov knowledge was based on online calculator, so basically middle of my cycle) and I didn't get pg!! Now I'm worried something wrong! Is it? Sad That's why I'm using ov stick this cycle.

Pinkie29 · 07/06/2012 07:52

Queen - I was using ov sticks so I stopped the day after my smiley face, I guess that's where they come in handy otherwise I'd have stopped when I thought I'd ovulated?

The only thing we done different this month was I took the vitex and epo and when it was swi we used conceive plus and I put an instead cup in afterwards then done some serious 'pinkling'! Grin

I tested again this morning, I wonder when the novelty will wear off?!

Kittenkatzen · 07/06/2012 07:54

Morning ladies!

I'm definitely on board with those of you having a reawakening since stopping the pill/injection....so many more twinges and niggles that weren't there before. Am also horny as hell GrinGrin

Not sure on the cravings though, I think I have to agree with queen, I've felt much healthier since coming off and have actually lost a bit of weight (I think it's water rather than fat, but weight loss is weight loss right?!).

Pinkie29 · 07/06/2012 07:55

Nicola about lady bits! It's so strange to feel ov pain the first few times! That was usually my hint to test! I done it from day ten onwards always at 2pm, need to have held your wee in for 4 hours tho!

KickingUpQuestions · 07/06/2012 08:29

i have never felt OV pain. This forum makes it sound like you varies do a very distinct morris dance when you OV or implant.

The truth is that only 28-30% of people feel OV pains and Implantation. a lot of twinges were always there but they were missed :)

I have never been on the pill for longer than a few months at a time and i am very in tune with my body. Every time i thought i was OWing i was wasn't. and when i swore i had implant
nation cramps i didn't.

NicolaHazel · 07/06/2012 08:48

Hurrah to reawakening of lady bits! :-)

My ovaries have ached for about a week on and off. Definitely need to DTD tonight! Keep topped up, ha ha.

Pinkie...when you run out of sticks to piss on!!

BryonyJ · 07/06/2012 09:18

Morning everyone!
Sorry, very very excited this morning, just done 2 tests and . . . both were POSITIVE!!!!!!!! :D

Kittenkatzen · 07/06/2012 09:20

Oh massive congratulations bryony very happy for you! :):)

Wow, this is certainly turning into a lucky thread isn't it!

NicolaHazel · 07/06/2012 09:28

Wow! Congrats Bryony.

I'd better get bloody lucky now, this thread is super productive, after all!

Newbie2 · 07/06/2012 09:56

Morning everyone,

Second day using this thread and I'm still enjoying the TTC chats. I noticed a change in my CM this morning so maybe something is happening down there! I've decided to buy 10 more OV sticks to last me until the end of my cycle and then go onto a CFM from day1. No harm in trying!!

Newbie2 · 07/06/2012 09:57

Oh and I forgot to say massive congrats to Bryony!

purplefairies · 07/06/2012 09:59

Congratulations Bryony!!! This is a lucky thread indeed!!!

I'm still feeling overwhelmingly nauseous, but resisting the temptation to test to soon. Trying to remember that I haven't had a real cycle in 8 years, so it's bound to feel strange.

Lucky you Kittenkatzen with the weight loss coming off the pill. I was really hoping that would happen to me. I've taken breaks from the pill before and always lots about 2kg almost instantly, but this time, a month after coming off, I actually feel like I'm struggling more to keep weight off - I have so much fluid retention and extreme bloating, it's horrible :( Hope this will calm down in a few months (or that I will be pregnant by then and will be sporting a nice round stomach with pride).

BryonyJ · 07/06/2012 10:08

Thank you everyone!! soooo excited!!. so what should i be doing now? should i be going to the doctors?

KickingUpQuestions · 07/06/2012 10:12

How dark was the line?

If it wasn't clearly pink or blue, then wait until it's a bit darker and ring the docs then

BryonyJ · 07/06/2012 10:17

The lines on both tests were a very clear dark pink

KickingUpQuestions · 07/06/2012 10:20

Ring your doc then :)

BryonyJ · 07/06/2012 10:21

Okie dokie, thank you :)

NicolaHazel · 07/06/2012 10:22

Best get on phone to doctor!

Popinda · 07/06/2012 10:25

Congrats bryony! This is very lucky tread indeed! Grin let's hope we get many more bfp's this month!!!Grin

BryonyJ · 07/06/2012 10:45

Thank you! still can't believe it!

Newbie2 · 07/06/2012 11:25

Purple - I feel exactly the same. I'm so bloated It's really uncomfortable and I can't even hide in a damn maxi dress because of the miserable weather! Such a sudden change as my stomach was flat as a pancake before :(

Pinkie29 · 07/06/2012 11:43

On my last cycle (the 43 days!) I got a twinge on day 28 I just thought ah af is coming, went and done an opk and got the smiley, this cycle I got the same pain and smiley again but day 16 along with ewcm think I'm in the minority but all ties in with when we conceived

Bryony huge congrats!!! Wow so many bfps and it's only the first week of June!!

Nicola good plan haha!

KickingUpQuestions · 07/06/2012 11:46

Not saying you didn't feel OV pains at all! :)

Just saying its' actually not that common :)

purplefairies · 07/06/2012 12:10

Me, too, newbie2 - always renowned for my flat stomach. My colleague drinks hot water with lemon in it every morning and says that helps - might be worth a try. I have another nosey colleague who keeps making comments about me being pregnant soon (I haven't told anyone about TTC but he's the sort of guy who thinks a woman's only duty is to have as many babies as possible!!) and I keep noticing him looking at my bloated stomach and wondering....so frustrating!!
