TTC first baby

Hello all! DH and I are TTC our first baby, I'm 31, he's 32. We've only been trying for a month so it is extremely early days but I'm so excited at the prospect.

DH may have some fertility issues (picked up on a scan) but I was pretty convinced it was going to be a BFP straight away as I had so many symptoms - but that shows how much I know! Blush

Is anyone else TTC their first baby? Please join and keep me company!!

Oh ok maybe it's not too much of a problem then, I have googled (I know worst thing to do!!) and it seems that plenty of people have got pregnant without it! My AF is due between 14th-17th so around the same time as you. I have my fingers crossed, the waiting malarky is awful, it takes over your life!! X

Pinkie29 · 03/05/2012 17:44

I know it's been the slowest 2 weeks ever! I'm getting all sorts of twinges down there uff please stay away af!!

Persuasion · 03/05/2012 20:13

Hi ladies, can I join? I come proffering Wine as we may as well enjoy it while we can.

I'm 28, DH 26 on cycle 2 since I had my mirena removed, day 21. Also feel cheated at not getting pregnant at the thought of a willy. Especially as the mirena leaflet has a big warning if you get it taken out midcycle you're 'at risk' of pregnancy - I deliberately got it out midcycle after reading that but nada.

bug and pinkie your mucous convo just made me feel nauseous. Symptom?? Grin

Pinkie29 · 03/05/2012 20:30

Hi Persuasion :) thanks for the wine I can't do that smiley so will biscuits do?
BiscuitBiscuitBiscuitBiscuit

Re looking at willies, my dad put the fear of god in me aged 14 'if you ever come home up the duff too young you'd better hope he has a nice house!' he's spent the last 6yrs complaining of no grandchildren... Tbh I still dread telling them and I've just turned 30 haha!

I wish it was as easy as they made out in school :/

Persuasion · 03/05/2012 20:39

My dad did that too. My mom took a really long time to conceive (over 10 years) so I thought she'd be all pro starting TTC and he'd be all protective, but they've gone the other way, my dad is fine and my mom is really negative about it all. Parents eh?

Pinkie29 · 03/05/2012 20:49

We haven't told the parents were ttc Grin they'll both be over the moon when it finally happens.

I just don't want added pressure as I think mum fell pregnant fairly easy from what I know, they finally have their first grandchild thanks to my brother so I'm off the hook for a while, I did whisper to my darling niece that she's going to have a cousin soon so figure I must be pg as cant lie to a new baby haha x

cwtching · 03/05/2012 23:08

Hello Persuasion :) welcome to the waiting room! Wine

We haven't told anyone we're TTC, I know my parents and PIL would be really excited (no grandchildren yet). I don't want to say anything in case it takes a long time / doesn't happen ... it would be an amazing thing to tell them if it does happen :)

Hello everyone! The meanest thing just happened.
I ordered my 50 Internet cheapy dip sticks and saw a negative result within a few seconds. The instructions said to look at 5 min but not after ten. I picked it up after about 3 or 4 min to see before my eyes a pink line appearing very boldly where the test line should be. I got really excited and showed OH who looked in shock and then the line started creeping up to the control line and disappeared! Some of the dye must have been disturbed when I picked it up and I am happy to accept that logical explanation but how cruel!! Angry

Pinkie29 · 04/05/2012 07:40

Ah bug that's mean! Stupid tests!! Tho that's happened to me years who when I'd not been trying and crapped myself!

Well day 41 crampy as hell but nothing else, I keep checking my boobs are still sensitive as when they go back to normal that's how I know shes here Sad

bugoven · 04/05/2012 09:48

Hey pinkie. I really always wanted a positive to be honest however irresponsible that was!
So CD43. BFNWFASLLABFP (BFN that for a second looked like a BFP). AF like cramps. The tiniest streak of spotting last night but nothing this morning despite wearing a JIC pad.

Pinkie29 · 04/05/2012 10:53

Ooo let's hope your spotting is implantation bleed!! My pain is more to the left now pinches nipples still sensitive! I've read a lot about ppl who got bfps when they were convinced af was coming so it ain't over till its over Smile

bugoven · 04/05/2012 10:55

Well pretty sure AF is here now. Don't feel too bad just relieved to know either way and good to get it at the same time as a cold so I can get over both afflictions at the same time ready for some healthy SWI after. Good luck for this month everyone else. Looks like I'm definitely out of the game for a 2012 baby. 2013 sounds collet anyway Smile

bugoven · 04/05/2012 10:56

*cooler

Christelle2207 · 04/05/2012 12:41

oh dear bugoven really sorry to hear that, it was looking so promising. The anticipation builds up so much doesn't it....mind you so far I have been able to bounce back quite quickly, hope you do the same.
And yes if you have a crappy cold it's a good time to get both that and AF over and done with and psyche yourself up for another BD round in a week or two.

Pinkie29 · 04/05/2012 13:01

Sorry to hear bug Sad

I'm always upset a little then relieved at having an answer so can start again, sadly it's a 4 week wait each time for ov due to my silly cycle! I need another hobbie! x

bugoven · 04/05/2012 13:53

Thanks pinkie and christelle. I actually feel really good and just excited about another month, another maybe Smile
Calculated next possible EDD based on AF as 8th Feb 2013, really close to my mum's 60th (which she keeps reminding me is plenty old enough to be a granny) so here's hoping!

32andready · 04/05/2012 14:12

Hi! Can I join?! I'm 32 and came off the pill at the end of August and had pretty regular cycles since - all between 26 and 29 days with one random 22 day one. Last month I decided to start using ov tests and got a smiley face on day 18, around the time I had given up hope and had decided I obviously wasn't even ovulating. Anyway, I was at home sick and, despite being very full of a really bad cold, we managed to DTD that night (while laughing about how completely unsexy I was). So, fast forward to now and no AF. It's CD34, I have done 3 tests all BFN. I feel fine but the side of my left boob aches (it always does after ov until af) and I have had (TMI alert) a LOT of cm - really watery, this morning when I got up it actually dripped out (sorry that's definitely TMI). So, now, just waiting and trying to tell myself I'm just late and AF will arrive soon but don't feel like I usually would before it arrives. Going slightly crazy with the waiting tbh and trying to avoid Wine just in case but making up for it with chocolate!

Pinkie29 · 04/05/2012 14:26

Hi 32andready we're growing Smile

I don't know what to advise hmm! I mean the later the better and if your already 5 days late can't be a bad thing?

I've no idea if im late until day 44 though I did go 52 days once Hmm just been loo (more tmi!) and wiped and saw the teeniest pink mark? My af always starts light brown, not sure if it was front or back tho lol!

32andready · 04/05/2012 14:31

Hi Pinkie! That's what I'm hoping although trying not to get my hopes up either... I figure I'll see what happens over the weekend and test again on Monday if no sign of af...

Pinkie29 · 04/05/2012 14:36

I'll be day 43 on Sunday if the lady on red doesn't show but ideally want to wait until Friday 11th as that'll be 5 days late based on last cycle, wishing hoping and praying!

bugoven · 05/05/2012 00:52

Hello again all.
Just got home from a family party where I have been curing my cold with a couple of JD and cokes as far as I was concerned guilt free as of course AF is here but it seems to be spotting again and hasn't come to anything. Everything felt like AF. Will test again if it doesn't pick up. So confused =/

Littlemissimpatient · 05/05/2012 06:55

Hi everyone this thread has grown since I was last on! I got my BFP yesterday!! AF was due yesterday but managed to persuade DH to let me test and result!!
Not getting too excited though as no symptoms at all and had 2 previous mc so fingers crossed this one sticks!
Am I chancing my luck typing this?!

Pinkie29 · 05/05/2012 08:45

Littlemisspatient congrats!!! first bfp on the thread Grin

Am sure your not chancing things just try think positive, I've never been pg that I know of so do worry that something's not right :/

Cd42 here still no show, yet! Have convinced myself it will be tomorrow like the last cycle.

Bug defo test again Grin

winkle2 · 05/05/2012 10:14

Congratulations littlemisspatient!

Littlemissimpatient · 05/05/2012 10:44

Thank you! I am trying not to worry. My DH just says what is meant will happen which is sweet but not very reassuring! So off shopping as a distraction! Fingers crossed for all you lovely ladies it really is a horrible waiting came xx
