Another new thread for some more serious metalling - we really are a chatty lot!

Here's to making it through the WTF cycle(s), metalling* like a teenager from the early '90s in the 2WW, BFP colds and other classic symptom spotting and hiding in the (nice and comfy) padded cell post BFP Grin

If you have miscarried and are ready to TTC again, come and join us!

  • For those currently wondering what our mosh pit antics have to do with ttc post MC, a fabulous typo in an earlier thread resulted in "mentalling" becoming known as "Metalling" - a far more fitting expression I am sure you will agree!

Welcome!

I think we're going to need some new stats for the new thread - 977 posts here. Time for a new mosh pit!

Welcome frozen I'm so sorry to hear about your losses but gentle congratulations for this one. I totally understand where you are right now, I've lost two, made one, and I'm 8 weeks and some with another one, HB seen at 7 weeks, but high risk all the way to the end - whenever that may come. Currently metalling about early MC which will likely change to metalling about late MC and then I get to worry about prem labour - oh and all the way through I have an increased risk of placental abruption Hmm

Tiago we went sledging too, it was excellent. I'm sure it's probably on some list somewhere of things not to do when pregnant, but if my 5yo can manage it I'm sure I can.

Sorry you're feeling down maja I always try to get something on the horizon to look forward to when I feel like that. Anything coming up for you?

Glad you enjoyed the spa pebs swimming is an essential part for me, need to feel knackered to get the benefit!

Keep safe and let us know what the doctor says, feet up!

Fingers crossed for a BFP marbles

And still thinking of you Jaffa

NoMoreMarbles · 05/02/2012 23:23

i agree missC we will need a new room shortly...im a bit new here though so i doubt i will get it right...anyone want to do the honours?? i will make a celebratory sticky apple and cinnamon upsidedown cake and a cherry pie with whipped double cream for the new table and i have pre-emptively knitted a new tea cozy for the tea pot and a mat for the cake trays to rest on...mulit-coloured stripey with bobbley edgesSmile il bring them when i know where the new room isGrin

MissCoffeeNWine · 05/02/2012 23:30

We'll be needing a change of decor.

I've decided to ban AF red and decorate the mosh pit in some fetching shades of baby pink and blue with extra muslins. Scattering some baby toys and changing mats about the place and some nice high tables for all our cake not theirs There. It's a lucky baby-friendly mosh pit. From now on we shall only be playing the fetching tunes of Rockabye Baby Metal and we shall all have bundles of joy well and truly on the way by the time the thread is out. Just need to tempt the little buggers into existence I reckon

NoMoreMarbles · 05/02/2012 23:43

i think that is a good plan missC i will knit some teeny tiny cardis and booties to strategically place around tooGrin cant you tell im learning to knitGrin

pebspop · 06/02/2012 09:47

starting to get in the mosh pit vibe! i am on day 23 and have had ewcm from day 12 to day 17. i usually only start having ewcm on day 18.

i have been taking the clearblue opk tests since cd 13 and still haven't seen the smiley face yet. i did my temp this morning and it was 36.1 so not a post ov temp.

my cycles since last mc have ranged between 31 and 25 days (25 days was when af arrived just after i got back from oz - not sure if the jet lag/long flight affected things).

wft is going on - any ideas?

it's getting a bit stressful doing the opks as it's not working like i expected. i feel like i need to carry on the temping now to see whats going on there. just feel like i am getting too obsessed but i need to know whats happening so i can't just stop doing it all now arrrggghhh!

also, i have got cystitis or something so i am feeling yucky. :( having a day off today and hopefully will feel better tomorrow.

MandaHugNKiss · 06/02/2012 10:09

Uh. pebs See when you 'got af' coming back from Oz on CD25? How long and heavy was the bleeding? I know it's a long shot, but is there any chance it could have been implanatation bleeding? If it was pretty light and only for a few days I'd be suggesting you to poas especially as I've always had quite a bit of EWCM in early pregnancy and your lack of positive opk too (although lots of women miss their LH surge if it's a short one - seen many a story of woemn getting a positive pregnancy test and exclaiming 'but I didn't get a positive opk so I didn't ovulate! Clearly, they did! Smile)

How you doing, missC after your metalling the other day? Also, nice dodge on the age question Grin Perfect for breakfast! Perhaps I'm french somewhere in my ancestry?

pebspop · 06/02/2012 10:36

just been to poas and it was bfn. so wtf is going on?!!

i remember last year when i got pg for the second time, i wasn't supposed to be trying but i was expecting af so i thought it would be ok to have a sneaky one! i got pg so maybe i am ov'ing extra late like that time. i would normally expect af this coming weekend so i will see what happens. i suppose i should carry one with my opks, probably won't bother with the temping - maybe just take the odd one if i remember.

NoMoreMarbles · 06/02/2012 11:09

I'm spotting again Confused I will join you in the WTF is going on camp pebs I'm on around day 22/23 and I NEVER have mid cycle spotting... I'm now worrying as I have also had some painful shoulder issues... That plus the next to nothing, thin, oddly coloured spotting for what was the CP, the achey boobs, etc sounds very suspicious to me!!

BlueCrane · 06/02/2012 11:14

Morning all Smile Hope everyone is wrapped up and toasty and not stuck in the cold

Right?I?ve been keeping up with the thread but just realised I haven?t actually said hello for ages, so here goes with a mammoth name check attempt!!

manda thinking of you?hope you enjoy your treat dinner on Wednesday ? sounds yummy! Hope DF did the honourable thing and ventured out into the snow for milk, whipped cream and marshmallows for your hot chocolate!??! If not, here?s another virtual one for the moment

marthas how are you doing? Sorry I've been lacking on my breakfast and coffee provision lately

maja hormones and stress post-MC catch up with us all at different rates and at different times, though the prospect of actual TTC can definitely be a kickstart to it all?take good care and keep talking to your DH about how you?re feeling!

Newton and mad I?ve always fancied staying at CP?only ever managed day trips to use the spa and such like ? enjoy!! Sorry you are both in that hideous early wait for scans and reaching 12wks?not an easy time!!

tiago glad you enjoyed the sledging!! I?m not a big fan of snow?bit like manda ! Hope trip to the IVF clinic tomorrow is useful.

missc hang in there!! And go-girl with the sledging!! You ever thought of a career in Interior mosh pit design?

pebs sorry about the lack of Smile on your opk?s?I tried them one cycle and got fed up with them as also never got one and decided they were just too expensive to persevere with!! Grrr for the bfn though!

IQ hope all is well with you and mini-IQ?

Anyone heard from baby recently? Hope all?s ok?

Welcome to frozen make yourself comfortable ? why not try the sofa rather than in the corner behind your yucca tree? Much more comfortable!

Right?sure I?ve missed people Blush sorry about that! Please help yourself to toasted muffins etc

In the land of blue all is well, PIL to visit this weekend which was ok (MIL hadn?t bought too much crazy stuff for mini-blue which was good) but I am exhausted after looking after/trying to entertain them all weekend. Work is utterly evading me at the moment and I have so far checked emails and MN this morning so really ought to actually try and do some work!! One super exciting thing is that DH has just been given a new role at work which means he won?t be doing shifts anymore for the next 3-6months (duration TBC) which means we actually get evenings and weekends together Grin Grin nearly 5 years of marriage and meticulous planning of all evenings and weekends has been a bit of a chore so this will make a nice change and good timing for mini-blue arrival too!

Ok, that?s a whopper post so I?ll go and do some work now stop for the moment and catch up again a bit later Smile

kalidasa · 06/02/2012 11:42

Hello all. I'm now CD19 of my first cycle post v. early miscarriage (4w5d - had only just had a positive test a couple of days earlier). My temps stayed higher than normal for ages - presumably left-over progesterone - but finally dropped on day 12 and I'm pretty sure I ovulated on CD15, exactly around my normal time. If so, I'm now 4DPO. Bit surprised that my body seemed to get itself sorted so fast, but I suppose that's good.

Anyway, although I realise it's stressful for you after a loss, it's also really encouraging that there are so many women here who are pregnant again.

NoMoreMarbles · 06/02/2012 12:45

i have just spoken to the GP on a phone consultation and he wants me to go in at 3:50 as he thinks it could be an ectopicShock i was expecting the brush off TBH...im a bit worried now!

MarthasHarbour · 06/02/2012 13:35

marbles stay calm as the GP is being extra cautious, panicky for you yes but he is doing a good job by checking you out

I have not posted since Thursday Shock sorry about that. Thank you to jaffa and IQ for your beautiful messages

BlueCrane · 06/02/2012 13:45

marbles x-post with you earlier...sorry to hear about spotting and strange WTF symptoms...hope doc appointment makes things a little clearer...so glad doc being responsive though!! There's so many stories of them being useless!

marthas damn FB!!! Great for keeping in touch spying on people but in a lot of ways it can be a real nightmare! Glad the choc pudding helped but the grieving process (at whichever point it happens) is so important so be gentle on yourself as you work this through.

Speaking of cake, puddings and the like, our canteen does a fab homemade apple and cinnamon cake...any takers?!? It's yummy with a Brew Smile

madaboutmadmen · 06/02/2012 20:48

Marbles, hope it all goes ok, must be such a worry, thinking of you. You know where we are anyway....

NoMoreMarbles · 06/02/2012 21:01

hi ladiesSmile

i went to the GP and it looks like i am either still MC retained products etc or MC again(not likely as you have to have sex to get preg last time i checkedHmm) the Dr examined me and my cervix is open suggesting a continued MCSad im suspecting that the spotting was the 'baby' part and this is everything else maybe? either way my 'cycle' has been the epitome of a WTF cycle in every way and i am starting from today. i am heading to holland and barratt for B100 tomorrow morning any other suggestions for vitamins etc that may help me make more of an effort to avoid this in the future?

hope everyone is doing wellSmile

BlueCrane · 06/02/2012 21:28

Oh marbles so sorry to hear that but at least not ectopic. Are they going to scan you to check for any further retained products?

Looks as though we need a new thread pronto...any suggestions ladies?

MissCoffeeNWine · 06/02/2012 22:03

We are all looking forward at the possibilities, not back at the what ifs so come on down to the shiny new baby-friendly MOSH PIT. There's cake for scoffing, backs for patting, and screeching death metal for all your METALLING moments. All welcome!"

what does everyone think?

we need a new start us lot...

MarthasHarbour · 07/02/2012 09:21

Yer not wrong marbles

jaffa how are you today? Thanks

brr its a bit nippy today. at least DS didnt have a strop this morning, sheesh you should have seen the mood he was in yesterday, i guess he 'dont like mondays' Wink

where's the Brew blue eh eh? your standards are slipping lady Grin

loving either of the new shiney new thread titles, can i ask one thing tho please? can we not have baby blue and baby pink in the mosh pit - its vairy uncool and not METAL (sorry MissC) I have an aversion to the baby colours and insisted that DS had primary colours or greens and browns when he was a tot Wink

MarthasHarbour · 07/02/2012 09:32

just read that back and i am being a tad high maintenance this morning! Hmm

btw - i phoned the GP yest, my bloods came back normal and the GP didnt need to see me. TBH i said to DH that i am not going to make an appointment as i am feeling loads better about it, (thanks to this thread - we are making loads of plans - looking at schools for DS, looking at rightmove, thinking about holidays Smile)

BlueCrane · 07/02/2012 10:20

Morning... > Like the new thread titles...thinking we need to go soooon!!

marthas so glad you're feeling more positive and starting to look at future things!!

I seem to be having a bit of a MS resurgence at the moment which is a bit odd?! Just feel so queasy in the morning again (hence lateness with breakfast recently, sorry all!) and totally exhausted!! But...whilst I'm a bit Hmm about it all I'm SO pleased to have reached 24wks today that I'll happily put up with a few inconveniences and so will work have to just deal with my being late every day!!

pebspop · 07/02/2012 10:29

another wtf day for me. i had cystitis yesterday so went to the doc with a sample as i started getting a bit of blood but couldn't work out where it was coming from. they said i didn't have infection but gave me antibiotics anyway?? the nurse asked if my period was due but i was only on cd 23 so i said no.

i have since been to toilet and had blood on two occasions from fanj. but not full af. if af is coming i will be gutted as it's only cd 24. maybe it's implantation? if it's not implantation (and unlikey as i haven't had the smiley face) what can i do to sort my cycles out? will the b vits help?
