TooImmature2BDumbledore · 14/11/2011 20:19

I'm seeing the community MW on Fri, so hopefully she will know a bit more about it. The MW in the EPU rather rudely said not to ask her any questions because she didn't know anything, though, so it may not be covered by MW training.

Poor you with the feeding frenzy! I suppose all breast milk is increasing her immunities etc, so worth it for that?

ciwi · 14/11/2011 20:29

Hi everyone,
green how awful for that woman, I used to work in paediatric intensive care and looked after quite a few babies with that condition. Most of them did ok though it's a tough road for them in the first few months and of course that depends on how severe the defect is in the first place. I would not like to have to make that decision. Sorry you are having to put ttc on hold this month, I had spotting on and off for ages after my mmc, I think in hindsight I was still in the wtf cycle and didn't ov until my cycle settled down. Hope the doc is helpful next week x
too sorry you have had another worry today, like you said though her kidneys seem to be working ok. I am sure she will be fine, lots of people are fine with just one kidney and there is still a good chance that it will right itself anyway. Are they going to scan you more often?
blue good luck with the swi, fx it's your month x
cheese hang in there and good luck for tomorrow. I haven't discussed delivery so far as of yet as I am still worried the baby will be early. The consultant did say today though that we will play it by ear and see how I am feeling anxiety wise once I get to term, I think if I get to 37 weeks I will be begging him to induce me!
My scan was fine today, the blood flow, placenta and growth are all normal and his estimated weight is 1lb 3oz already! Back in another month for another scan and I have a feeling I will be having them monthly until the baby is born.

ciwi · 14/11/2011 20:34

That last post seemed to take me a week to post so x posts with too and angel!
too shocked that they haven't arranged for anyone to answer your questions, can you ring your consultants secretary?
angel feeding must be frustrating at times, hang in there x

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 14/11/2011 20:44

Ciwi, so pleased to hear everything was fine and LO is 1lb 3oz already - what a whopper! Bean was 340g, which is about 12 oz, so she's got a way to go to catch up. At the moment I'm still on scans every 4 weeks, but I suppose that depends on how the kidney thing goes. If it is still there at my next scan then I might be referred to the Fetal Medicine Unit in Edinburgh (again - that's where I was sent for my amnio).

Cheese, good luck tomorrow!

CheeseandGherkins · 14/11/2011 21:25

Had to go back to hospital today as dd1's school called about her hand again, so sick of that place now! She's ok but needed looking at as her hand was numb and changing colour. The dr said that it's the tissue swelling causing the numbness and that it can take a couple of weeks to get better.

Scan tomorrow, doppler one, quite nervous about that.

green that's awful news, that poor woman :(

Too I hope that your next scan brings better news, 4 weeks is such a time to wait :( I really hope all will be well for her. xx

Angel glad you're feeling a little better x

ciwi So glad your scan went well :) One thing at a time. I think my next scan (all being well) after my one tomorrow is 28 weeks and then it'll be fortnightly from then on I believe.

greenzebra · 15/11/2011 08:12

too thinking of you after I read your post, its never easy is it? A friend of mine her baby was picked up a the 20 week scan as having a kidney that was bigger than the other, they were worried through out the prgnancy that something was wrong and well hes a great little kid now hes 3. So try not to worry, as the others have said. I guess you will just have to hold out till the next scan, fx that its all well.

cheese I hope that digit of your DD sorts its self out and gets better, its not fun being in a bandage at that age!

ciwi what a whopper your little man is.

Im fed up with this spotting its not fair and its annoying having to wear a pad all the time! Might invest in a mooncup! (god I really am a Mumsnetter now!)

razzdazz · 15/11/2011 10:22

Morning all, have been working night shift again so just catching up!!
too, I am sure she will be fine but I am so sorry for your extra worry yet again, bet she will be a right princess when she finally arrives!! My friends baby also had cysts on her kidney at scan and they did vanish before delivery.
cheese hope all goes well today.
ciwi he is a big boy, growing really well Smile
angel hope your little madame lets you have an easier day today......have a fab time at your mums tomorrow, rest up.
green what a pain that you are still spotting and even worse that you had to wait so long for doc appointment.

The service on sunday was lovely, I lit candles for us all. Im getting quite frustrated with not being able to feel baby very much. From 15 weeks I felt him quite clearly, not all of the time but often enough. Now at 17+5 hardly ever. Have an anterior placenta this time (typical) so maybe thats the issue?? Found heartbeat straight away and very load placenta so all seems well. Thank god for the doppler!!!

greenzebra · 15/11/2011 11:07

razz thank you for lighting a candle. My friend had anterior placenta with her last and didnt feel alot of the baby, and with my fibriods I dont either its frustrating isnt it.

janedoe25 · 15/11/2011 11:46

razz Thanks for the candle. I'm glad your scan went well.

too I wouldn't worry too much about bean, I hope you get some more info to set you at ease.x

mel thank you for the link, Df and I will be going along to the service in Stirling.

cheese I hope dd feels better soon, hugs to her.x

Sorry blue no sneak preview, there will prob be pictures on fb on Sunday.

AngelGeorgie · 15/11/2011 12:22

Razz I hardly felt any movement with either Georgie or Phoebe.I only felt her kick very occasionally my consultant said that was fine as long as that was normal for us. Like u I depended upon my Doppler. Xxx
How excited are you Jane??? xxx
Hi all xxx

CheeseandGherkins · 15/11/2011 14:54

My scan went well today, phew! No problems and baby's size looked ok :) Definitely a girl too :o Really relieved. We talked briefly about the birth as it was my consultant that did the scan and she seems quite happy to go with whatever I want, preferably an induction given my history but will see what happens. I think I'll have a clearer idea of my needs closer to the time and depending on what happens. She said 37 weeks but because Scarlett died then they could go earlier, again depends on what happens between now and then (they may want to do it earlier because of my sugar levels she said) but the concern would be if an induction would work. Very relieved about that too, put my mind at rest :o Thank you all for your help and advice :)

razz the service sounds lovely, thanks for lighting a candle :) They do say that you feel less movement with an anterior placenta especially earlier on but trust what you feel and go in for a check if you need to.

jane only a few more days to go!

xx

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 15/11/2011 19:02

Yay Cheese, yay! Glad that baby is growing fine and that you are a bit clearer about the birth. She sounds very nice and concerned about you.

Jane, what's your real name? I want to find you on FB and see the photos! PM me if that's ok with you.

Razz, I had an anterior placenta with Thea and I feel so much more this time around. I think with Thea it was around the 20 week mark that I started to feel movement, so don't worry just yet. There was also a lady on another thread recently, second pg, who was worrying about not feeling anything by 20 weeks, and sure enough she had an anterior placenta too. I hope I never have another one! At least you have the doppler to keep you calm.

Green, hope things start to calm down soon. Did you say you have a doctor's appt this week? I hope they can give you some help.

Thank you for the reassuring kidney-related stories! I bet Bean will be a princess - I was telling DH yesterday that this is her way of ensuring she is an only child! I have to say, it is going to take a real act of courage to consider a third pregnancy after these two. Still, that's not something to worry about for another 2 or 3 years at least.

AngelGeorgie · 15/11/2011 20:38

Yeh cheese xxxGrin

greenzebra · 16/11/2011 08:02

thats great news cheese Im glad it went well.

jane could you pm me as well would love to see you in that dress, our first wedding on this thread! Or maybe you could post a pic in your mn profile.

too my appointment is next friday, such a pain in the arse that I have to wait so long, Im feel like crap today, I dont feel good and Im hoping its nothing to do with the spotting, I hope I dont have an infection! Why couldnt they give me an appointment this friday? Maybe its because I asked to see a female doctor, not because I dont want to tell a male one, but last time this happened they reffered me to a female one so I thought I would skip all that and arrange it myself.

razzdazz · 16/11/2011 09:29

Hi all,
cheese great news about your scan and that your consultants is going to take your emotional well being into consideration re the birth.
green I thought it was this friday, cant believe you have got to wait until next....that is so rubbish Angry

Thank you all for your reassurance with the anterior placenta.....baby seemed to favour being at the sides yesterday so got lots of tickles Grin

greenzebra · 16/11/2011 11:10

I remember with Ophelia that that was all I could ever feel was when she tickled me with her feet on the right side and also when she used to rise up and stick her bum out.

It is rubbish razz it still hasnt stopped either, its really getting me down.

razzdazz · 16/11/2011 13:08

green I am not surprised that it is getting you down Sad. Is it worth phoning the surgery to see if there are any cancellations or explaining that you think you should be seen way before next Friday???? Sometimes she who shouts the loadest can get listened to x

greenzebra · 16/11/2011 13:54

Maybe worth a try razz I might do that tomorrow.

fanjodisfuction · 16/11/2011 14:51

Hey Girls I have changed my name thought this one was more apart of the times. So I am no longer greenzebra (well maybe untill I get a BFP I think)

fanjodisfunction · 16/11/2011 15:27

ok I spelt it wrong! much to the joy of DH, hes still laughing now.

spilttheteaagain · 16/11/2011 15:55

oh but green... now we will have to call you fanjo Grin! Seems somehow rude Grin

janedoe25 · 16/11/2011 16:05

Loving the name chane fanjo ha ha ha Grin. I have pm'd you.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 16/11/2011 18:34

Hee hee, fanjo! Is highly amusing, even if rather rude. Why is it that only female doctors are capable of dealing with 'women's troubles'? Roll on next Friday, then. Do you feel better by now, or are you still feeling dodgy?

ciwi · 16/11/2011 20:53

Hi everyone,
fanjo loving the name change and funny spelling mistake too, you should have left it like that and pretended it was on purpose - ha ha. I agree with razz it might be worth seeing if you can get a cancellation, you can always keep your appointment with the female doc in case you are not happy with the one you get, I hope you get sone answers soon x
razz glad you are feeling more movement, I had an anterior placenta last time so most of the movements I felt were like Irish dancing on my bladder! This time it's posterior and feel movements all over my tummy and can even see my stomach move, that didn't happen at all last time.
Jane you must be getting really excited now!
cheese yay for a good scan, the Doppler ones are nerve wracking aren't they? I have another in 4 weeks.
Well ladies, have found a stretch Mark! Didn't get them last time, think it was because Ciaran was so small. In a way I am glad I have one as it means bump is growing well but I am surprised to get one this early.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 16/11/2011 20:58

I think I started getting stretch marks at about 32 weeks last time, Ciwi - LO must be growing really well! I have hundreds of stretch marks from last time around, sadly, and I expect I'll add to them this time, having started off a stone heavier. Oh well, too bad. They have already faded a lot, and when I got a tan this summer it helped hide them. They prove Thea existed!
