Evening all. We ended up back at a&e the day dd1 broke her thumb, didn't get home until about 12.45 am so we were all knackered, and then back to the fracture clinic the next day. She's got a support on her hand and her two fingers held together with a tube thing now. She's still in pain though and her hand is numb (the reason we went back) so I might have to call back Mon/Tues to make sure it's ok.

Had a lovely weekend so far; went to see In Time at the cinema on Friday and I really enjoyed it, didn't manage to last the whole film without needing a wee though hehe. Saw ds1 play football today (they won!! Yay!) and this afternoon went into town for a coffee and a browse. Had an indian this evening and watching a film.

Jane so close to your wedding now! Might even get a honeymoon baby, fingers crossed Wink

blue good luck with the fertility lubes! HOw is dd now? Hope she's feeling better.

green I'm unfit but my knee hurts a lot of the time so find it hard to do much, the cold weather makes it worse too and it really aches. I try and walk as much as I can, which isn't much at the moment. I've been the same for years, was so fit when I was a teen but not anymore! Never really had a problem giving birth though so I'm hoping I'll be ok.

august tell me about it, hoping our luck has turned now. They said a hairline fracture so it should heal pretty quickly. Hope the x-ray goes ok on Monday, no idea how it could affect fertility but I'd imagine it wouldn't. I know you shouldn't go in the room when pregnant though.

razz it's great that you have a section date, are you relieved? I hope I can get mine to agree to either section or induce as early, although I'm terrified of getting to 37 weeks now.

Angel we should have one I think! Our own room would be nice now Wink Phoebe sounds like she's doing really well :o

Too wow 20 weeks! I'm 22 weeks today :o How did the flu jab go? I've had to use the doppler a few times lately just to reassure myself, even though I feel lots of movements. I'm not going to rely on it if I feel less movements though, I know that could be a false reassurance but at least it's something.

dachs sorry you're not getting anywhere with your boss, last thing you need :( I wish I could help but I'm not really sure what you could do. I hope you speak to HR on Monday though, stress isn't going to be good for you.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 13/11/2011 00:55

Flu jab was fine - didn't hurt at all! Think it was a really fine needle. Over in seconds.

Waah, the ceiling is leaking in the living room! Why do these things always happen on a Saturday night? Have got bucket under it and first my sister and then a slightly tipsy DH went up and poked about in the loft, but no obvious cause. Think it might be coming from the water tank as it's not raining. Nothing we can do until tomorrow at earliest and possibly Monday, though. Oh well.

razzdazz · 13/11/2011 09:12

Morning Grin
too oh no about your leaky roof.....I did wonder why you were up so late Wink. I am having my flu jab this week. Hope you get the leak sorted.
cheese your poor little girl, it it on the hand that she uses most?? Have to say your weekend sounds nice. I had to cover the sports shift at work yesterday so missed ds playing rugby Sad. I am relieved about the section date, it gives me something to aim for. Totally understand about your fear of the 37 week mark, has your consultant told you anything about what their plans will be for you??
angel your little girl is beefing up nicely Smile
green did you get a positive on ovulation sticks?

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. I am off to church soon as the priest that said Thomas's blessing at the grave is saying a mass for him today. I will light a candle for all of our angel babies.

MelMal · 13/11/2011 11:24

Cheese have you taken out shares in a & e? Hope you have a very uneventful week and that it's good news about the fracture x
too Nightmare about your leak. I am the queen of water property disasters! Flooded by neighbours before Christmas, flooded by neighbours again with kitchen ceiling coming down, burst water mains pipe.....
Good luck is all I can say x
Razz that sounds like it will be a nice service. Anyone going to the UK Sands services around the country? The Scotland one is in Stirling but there are another 5 across the UK.
I think I might have sold my flat!!! Don't want to get too excited yet but it looks like it's just the formality bits. Everybody keep everything crossed (it's been on the market for 18 months).
I had my flu jag a week past Friday and it was fine but got the side effect that was like someone had punched me in the arm. It's ok now though.
Big waves to everyone and hugs and prayers for an uneventful week (apart from those swi-ing and those about to get married Wink) xxx

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 13/11/2011 12:49

Oh goody, plumber has just arrived! Not sure whether he picked up the voicemail I left him, or whether Lord Dalmeny got someone jumping! I called the estate office this morning and a v upper class voice answered and I am sure it was him. After all, it is his house and I don't suppose he wants the ceiling caving in. Plumber says it is a faulty valve under the water tank. Poor you, Mel, with your water woes!

FX for your house sale! I know heaps of people who are struggling to sell, so it is lovely to hear of someone who might be on the brink.

I have a tiny bruise where the needle went in for the flu jab and it is a little sore, but nothing like you, Mel!

Cheese, have you spoken to your consultant about early delivery? Mine suggested moving the section date to 37 weeks because 38 weeks will be Thea's birthday, so yours might be very amenable to booking you in early. Have you decided if you are going for induction or ELCS?

Razz, how nice of your priest! Thank you for lighting candles.

I have started counting kicks today and writing them down - have little list of times and movements ranging from kick to wriggle to twitch. The Count the Kicks website suggested starting from 20 weeks and trying to build up a pattern. It also suggested doing it overnight - how am I meant to do that, hold a kick-counting vigil?

janedoe25 · 13/11/2011 13:25

too glad the plumber has been called!

cheese hope dd is ok?

razz The service sounds lovely.

mel I haven't heard anything about the sands service, Stirling is only 20 mins away from me so we will probably go.

OMG girls, I get married this week!

janedoe25 · 13/11/2011 13:30

mel where dd you see the info for the sands service? I can't find anything, can you post a link please?

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 13/11/2011 13:41

Grin Grin at Jane. Here comes the bride...

CheeseandGherkins · 13/11/2011 17:04

razz yes, it's her right hand which she writes with. My consultant hasn't mentioned anything about the delivery yet at all, I've wanted to ask for ages but also not wanted to in case it meant more for me to worry about! Trying to pluck up the courage to speak for next appointment. Service sounds lovely, I hope it was peaceful for you xx

Mel I'm hoping the same! Do you know where the other Sands services are? I looked a while ago and couldn't find any info so maybe it hadn't been arranged then. I would love to go to one though. I'm in Cambridge though which is a way from Scotland. Great news about your flat, fingers crossed that it goes through!

Too Did the plumber fix your leak? I haven't spoken to her about it at all yet, I'm just really worried that she'll want me to go to 38 weeks when in my mind I can't even think about 37. I know 37 is the cut off for prematurity and I know the risks, dd1 was born at 36+4 and stayed in scbu for a week but at least she was alive. That's the only way I can think of it. I'd love to go in around then to either be induced or have a section. I think, weighing everything up, that I'd prefer to have a section but the fear of surgery is making that a difficult choice for me. I get very anxious and am prone to panic attacks and the thought of being numb and cut open really panics me. Not as much as losing another baby though and the labour scares me with that. Even though Scarlett died before labour I worry about the baby getting distressed and it ending up with an emergency section. I labour quickly usually which is another reason they may be reluctant to section but I've also had ds1 and ds2 become distressed near the end and been seconds away from being cut and them pulled out.

I didn't know you were supposed to start from 20 weeks. I'll go look at that now and start myself. I've noticed a pattern already though and already been in once for lack of movement; this is going to be a long few months I think!

jane really excited for you! xx

ciwi · 13/11/2011 19:31

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on much, my sister turned 30 this weekend so we have been celebrating with her. I have got another scan tomorrow, a blood flow one so am getting nervous for that. I got really upset the other day because this is the time last time where it all started to go wrong. I am just so frightened of the same thing happening again.
cheese my friend from sands lost her little one between 36 and 37 weeks and they are inducing her at 36 weeks this time so she doesn't have to go past the date that she lost her first baby, maybe they will do that for you too x
Jane yay for the wedding, so exciting!
too hope the leak gets sorted very soon!
razz hope the mass was nice today, I am sure it was x
Hi mel fx your flat sale goes through quickly
green how is your flat coming along?
Hi blue august angel and dachs hope you are all well x

AugustMoon · 13/11/2011 19:33

Too of course, 17 to go not 20 so over half way - how could i forget that circumstances are different for us now?! Will you be induced?

cheese yr poor dd, let's hope it does heal quickly, still glad you've had a nice w/e - really want to see that movie In Time, esp now you said it's good.

razz how was the mass? Hope you're ok.

Hi to everyone else!

AugustMoon · 13/11/2011 19:40

Hi ciwi x posts with you. Hang in there, everything will *probably be fine - it would be nicer to say "I'm sure" but having been through what we have I don't think I'll ever be sure about anything again - what I want to say is something along the lines of lightning never strikes twice. Blurgh, how inarticulate - just ((hugs)) you can do it xx

AugustMoon · 13/11/2011 19:45

same to you cheese, and Mel my f are x for your flat sale :)

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 13/11/2011 20:14

You aren't inarticulate - I know just what you mean about never being certain again! I am going to have an ELCS, because the consultant said that they could induce me but it might take up to 48 hours for the contractions to start, and I couldn't be monitored for all that time and I think I would just freak out. Everything I have read about C sections say that it is very quick, which is just what I want. I know the recovery will be harder, but I can cope with that. I hope Bean doesn't have to go to the SCBU, though, because I don't know if I can deal with her being away from me. I am going to ask for skin to skin immediately and I hope there'll be no reason for me not to get it.

Cheese, hope your DD gets better soon! If I were you I would ask the consultant and that way at least I would know - they might be absolutely fine with the idea of delivering you a bit early, depending on the LO's growth, and that would be a huge weight off your mind.

Razz, hope the service went well.

Ciwi, good luck for the blood flow scan! How many weeks are you now? Like August, I want to say I'm sure it will be fine, but I can't. I am sure you are being looked after very well and I hope everything will be great and you'll come back in raging spirits, high as a kite. I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow lunchtime - am a lot less nervous than I was for the 12 week one because I can feel Bean moving around. Just FX they don't find anything wrong...

The leak is fixed, at least temporarily. The plumber couldn't get the right part and is coming back tomorrow evening, but he did something to stop the water in the meantime. I think the ceiling is starting to dry out a bit. Will have to call the estate tomorrow and ask what they plan to do about repainting/wallpapering it.

DH hooked the doppler up to the big speakers this afternoon and we found Bean's heartbeat loud and clear after a bit of rummaging! The dog was totally fascinated, listening with his head on one side and then sniffing at the speakers to see where the noise was coming from. It was so cute!

AngelGeorgie · 13/11/2011 20:54

Good luck for tomorrow Ciwi & Too
Cheese please don t fret about the section it really was easy & nothing to worry about & 10 minutes after they'd started we had Phoebe. ( no dragging on in early labour or contractions for an age). Speak to your consultant as obviously I wasn t prepared to go to 40 weeks( with Georgie dying at 41 weeks) & she was more than happy to perform the surgery at an earlier date.my recovery was fine not half as bad as I thought would be & even though I had a wound infection that wasn t painful , just a little tender.
Jane wow ... Bet you can t believe this week is here now??? Have a fab time xx
Hi all xxx
Suffering here think I ve got mastitis again feel flu like & red hot spots on my boobs!!! Going to express now to see if that helps. Off to my mums on Wed fir 5 days which will be great as she ll give me a hand & enable me to rest for a bit.
Ant nor helped this weekend he went out last night ( which was fine) however, I asked him not to get pissed & to be home at a decent time so he could do 1 of the night feeds. In he rolled at 2 pissed!! Passed out on the bed , dead to the world, forgot to lock our front door?!! So, to say I m not impressed & not really talking to him at the moment us an under statement. HmmHmm

ciwi · 13/11/2011 21:02

Thanks girls, I am 22+2 today. Not sure if I will feel better once I get past 24 weeks or if I will carry on being prone to freak outs every now and then. Just hope the scan is clear tomorrow because if it is I won't need another one till 30 weeks which must mean that the consultant is not expecting any problems before then. Good luck for your 20 week scan too

CheeseandGherkins · 13/11/2011 21:37

ciwi I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping all goes well. I have my doppler scan on Tuesday myself. I can totally understand you being worried, I've been freaking out the past few days about things. That's interesting about your friend, I assume they wouldn't want to induce before 37 weeks at all. I'll have to bring it up next time, I think my appointment is in two Friday's time. Have you addressed delivery at all yet? You're a day ahead of me, I'm 22+1 today :)

August I was surprised at how good it was, really impressed me.

Too Glad your leak is fixed for now, hopefully more permanent by tomorrow. Good luck for tomorrow, hope all goes well at your scan. It's great being able to hear the heartbeat even though you can feel it. Feeling movements is helping me but not as much as I'd thought now, I've had to listen in a few times today already and am really getting anxious. I think I'd call in tomorrow if it weren't for my scan on Tuesday. I really wish it were over and this baby were here with us alive and healthy already.

Angel 10 minutes, wow that's fast! I think I will speak to her at my next appointment, at least we'll have a starting point then. I'm just so, so worried about everything. It's so good to be able to speak to others that understand though, although I wish you all didn't have to :( Mastitis is painful, I've had that before, sounds like you do have it to me. I had anti biotics with mine which helped to clear it up, I remember feeling like crap! Have a nice rest at your mum's, sounds like it'll be lovely :) Tut, at dh, I hope he's making things up to you!

Mel thanks for the link :)

greenzebra · 14/11/2011 08:37

I am still spotting, sometimes alot and sometimes a little. I discussed it with DH and he wasnt happy TTC this month, because Im still spotting. Its understandable. I would have thought if it was ovulation bleeding that it would have ended by now. So we are having a forced break this month, see what the doc says next week (still cant beleive I have to wait that long).

Im hoping that this is a run up to a BFP like last time, as this happened two months before we fell pregnant last time. FX.
We havnt heard anymore about the flat, so im ringing the coordinator this morning so she can chase up her solicitors.

jane you must be bursting with excitment!

greenzebra · 14/11/2011 14:16

just had some bad news from a work colleague there DIL had her 20 week scan and found out the baby had a chromosonal problem that has resulted in a large hole in the babies diapharam which mean the baby will probably not go to full term, but if its does the baby has a 50% chance of survival. They now have to make the decision to terminate or carry on with the pregnancy. What a decision to have to make my heart really goes out to them and I hope what ever decision they make they do not beat themselves up about it.

Bluetinkerbell · 14/11/2011 14:27

oh green so sad :( it's horrible when you have to make such decisions! when I look back on it, I am very happy we didn't have to decide to terminate but that nature had taken its course already with Sterre.

had a physio assessment this morning and will have to attend back classes for 6 weeks... been told of for working Mumsnetting on the sofa all day Wink

jane not long now! so exciting! Grin come on show us piccie of you in your dress already!

I think I am about to ov :) I have egg-whity cervical mucus... so will have to pin DH to the bed again tonight Wink
I've been able to dtd every day since Friday Blush Sunday morning was a bit of a tricky one though... as we were busy (ahem) DD woke up and started shouting for me. DH was distracted and I said she'll wait... of course he couldn't continue :( so I got DD out of bed, took her downstairs and put the tellie on... and went back upstairs to DH Blush
at least DD will be thankful when we get her a sibling and not blame us for not spending time with her Wink

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 14/11/2011 19:06

Hello people!

So, 20 week scan was this afternoon. Bean has something wrong with her right kidney - it's enlarged and has 3 cysts in it. Sad It might vanish on its own by the next scan in 4 weeks, though. If not, there isn't anything they can do about it until she's born, and I'm still not massively clear on what the worst case scenario is. I think if she has grown the right amount, and if nothing else is picked up, then they will be fairly sanguine. She is peeing properly, apparently, and everything else was all fine, so there's an excellent chance it won't be anything much. She's still moving heaps - she turned right over during the scan and I can feel her hopping about frequently. Aaaaargh, I just wanted to have no more scares!

Angel, hope your mastitis is better - it sounds sore!

Ciwi, how did you get on? FX for good news.

Green, hope the spotting stops soon and that the doctor can help. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's DIL Sad. I'm also glad I didn't have to make that choice.

Blue, Grin good effort!

AngelGeorgie · 14/11/2011 20:15

Too xxx will you see anyone in between now & your next scan? Can anyone give you any more info? Xxx
Mastitis slightly better , boobs less red !!! However, today seems to be a feeding frenzy after a crap night last night of no sleep in our house for anyone to 03:30!! Poor Ant I tried to persuade him to ring in sick but , unlike me, he's dedicated and in he went!!!
We met a friend in town for a couple of hours which was nice . Then since we came home at 3 we ve virtually fed all the time!!!
Sometimes do feel that having her on my boobs for an hour is a waste of time when 10 minutes later ( like now) Ant is having to top her up with a bottle!!Hmm
Hope everyone's ok?
Hope Ciwi is ok?
Xxxx
