DiffedAgainDachs · 06/11/2011 16:12

angel 15 weeks tomorrow and am seeing my ob at 16+3 so am hoping to see if he can tell then! If not then yes, will be finding out at 20 weeks. (If we get that far...)

Yay for a nice walk in the sun... Glad all is well :) xxx

razzdazz · 06/11/2011 17:37

Hello all Smile
Nice to hear from you again dachs, just over a week to go and we will maybe find out which team you and baby are on. It has really helped me knowing the sex, am able to visualise it all a bit more now. DH does not want to know which is going to be tough......especially as he is adamant it is a girl!!
Cheese Ella is a very nice name and too so is Sienna.
angel can I ask you how you have found having a section?? I know that you have suffered with an infection and so on but how has the recovery period been? Is it dreadfully painful? I have been offered a section this time and for various reasons feel that is the way to go...........

My son really wants a baby brother and my daughter announced today that she would also like a boy baby as she is the only princess for her daddy Shock so I guess if all goes ok it will be smiles all round Wink

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 06/11/2011 17:46

Dachs, I'm going to guess yours will be a boy (based entirely on the lack of boys on this thread so far). Hope you find out at 16+3 and don't have to wait until 20 week scan! I can't believe you're 15 weeks already!

Razz, there is no way I would be able to keep something of that magnitude from DH! It is hard enough keeping it from Dad, at his request. Trying to keep it a secret from someone living in the same house as me would kill me.

Angel, we have been walking too! Nice long walk in the sun, although my hips are killing me now. Still, it is good for us.

razzdazz · 06/11/2011 17:51

too Im made of tough stuff Wink. Found out with dd and never told a sole that even I had found out!!! DH knows that I have found out this time but he is not due back in the country until I am 23 weeks so my secret is safe until at least then and effort will be made to hide anything blue that I may have purchased by then Grin

DiffedAgainDachs · 06/11/2011 18:00

I know neither DH nor I would be able to keep it a secret from each other if only one of us wanted to know. I'd kind of like a surprise but he really wants to know, and we found out with the twins so I said we could find out and now i want to know! Shopping will be easier if I know...

I'll let you know as soon as I find out, if I am able to find out! If the ob can't tell at 16 weeks I'm thinking of having a scan at the end of November as a birthday present to myself, just so we can find out. Also because I saw the cub every week from 6 weeks to 12 weeks and now I'm having scan withdrawal symptoms so I really need a shorter gap than 4 weeks - I didn't get a sneaky peek when I went in for the op at 14 weeks but the ob did, and he said it all looked fine. I'm now really struggling with not knowing what's going on. Does that sounds weird?

Good luck with keeping your secret razz Do you think DH will give in and want to know by the time he gets back?

too I hope you're right in your prediction! It would be nice to have a boy. Especially because everyone so far and all the internet prediction things say it's a girl. It kind of makes me want to be different! Alexander was the older twin, so maybe if it was a boy it would kind of be following the trend of the thread. (We have also found it far easier to agree on boy names than girl names - we have a couple of girl names but we're not as happy with them as we are with our boy names - DH and I have completely different taste when it comes to girl names).

razzdazz · 06/11/2011 18:47

dachs all the internet prediction things said girl to me along with a well known medium Grin and I have proved them all wrong!! Not sure if dh will want to know when he gets back.....maybe, I think part of it is self protection at the minute if that makes sense??? My scan this week was private as I just could not wait any longer Blush so understand exactly how you feel. Should really crack on with baths/bed now instead of sneaking onto MN!!

AngelGeorgie · 06/11/2011 19:46

Razz don t know how you can keep it a secret from DH. I, too, wouldn't be able to keep my gob shut!!!! With Georgie Ant didn t want to know until we got in for the scan then couldn t not find out!!! With Phoebe we both agreed we both neede to know do we would have time to work through it. We were so pleased when we found out we were having another girl I felt Like we were getting a bit of Georgie back, if that makes sense!!
The section was absolutely fine. I wouldn't hesitate with having a section again. The spinal was fine I had it at 10:30 am & was up walking at 6 pm that night. Catheter was out the next day. It reduced a lot of stress having a date for my section & eliminated all the stress of having to wait for labour etc.... The section itself took about an hour in total. 20 mins approx from start to delivering Phoebe then about another 30-40 mins to suture me up. I ve felt fine after , just tired but fine. Having delivered both ways I don t mind either.the main thing for me was ensuring I didn t go to 40/40

  • weeks.please don t worry about the section. Ant came in to theatre with me , the anaesthetist & get assistant were lovely & talked to us all the way through . The scrub nurse was lovely & took photos of us & Phoebe as soon as she was born.xx Hi all; hope everyone is ok? Dachs not long to find out!! Whoop whoop. Xxx will u be scanned 4 weekly? Hope so. I was & found it helped me to get past each stage.
DiffedAgainDachs · 06/11/2011 21:09

Someone posted on the pregnancy pages under the heading 'worried, worried, worried' - her waters broke at 30 weeks with twins and she has an infection but the hospital won't take her seriously and have just sent her home with antibiotics. I've posted telling her to go back to the hospital and I'm really worried on her behalf but I'm wondering whether my post was too alarmist and I'm just overreacting because of what happened with me. Do you think I'm overreacting and should ask MN to remove my post? I don't want to worry her unnecessarily but i don't want her not to seek intervention when the situation could be v serious.

greenzebra · 07/11/2011 08:40

dachs I dont think your over reacting at all, you are just giving advice from your own experience. I would be the same if I heard that a mum to be wasnt feeling her baby as much.
Mr Zebra loved his Mississippi mud pie, he eat the last bit yesterday.

I am having the worst AF, I have now been bleeding for nearly two weeks! What is this all about. I have had it before but that went on for 41 days, I guess if it hasnt stopped by friday then I need to go to the doctors and get another stop the AF pill. (theres a little bit of me though who is thinking of last time this happened, I ended up pg within two months.) But other than that I really dont need this, I want to have a normal AF!

razzdazz · 07/11/2011 09:35

angel thank you so much for sharing your experience of c-section. I am also relieved in a way that I have been offered one. My consultant is happy to do it at 37 weeks, I have never gone to 40 before anyway. Waters went at 35+3 with ds who was then born at 36 weeks after induction and dd was born at 38 weeks.......guess 37 is in between Wink

ciwi · 07/11/2011 09:36

green maybe you are just having a really good clearout? My 2nd af after my mc was really heavy as was the one after that, I got pg after the 2nd heavy af. Always worth getting checked out by the doc though. I dont know much about stop the witch pills but do they mess with your hormones?
dachs I get upset and angry by those posts by worried women who feel less movement and the mw just says 'keep and eye on it and get back to us if you are still worried' they have been keeping an eye on it and they are worried, thats why they are ringing you in the first place - grrrr. If it was me I would just ring them to tell them I was on my way, I wouldn't give them a chance to say dont come in.
angel thanks for your honest cs experience, I may need one so it's good to know that it's not that bad. If I have no problems whatsoever I will try a normal birth but any signs of pe and I am going to ask for a section.
razz well done you, being able to keep a secret, I am rubbish at it, would be bursting to tell. I saw the cutest little boy's outfit in mothercare yesterday, may be tempted to buy it if my next scan on monday is ok.
Not much news from me, had a nice chilled out weekend. Bump seems to be growing nicely and we have a list of names we are going to choose from when we see the baby as we had Patrick for Ciaran but he didn't look like one at all! At the moment Eoghan is our favorite (pronounced o-in) in case anyone isn't sure.

greenzebra · 07/11/2011 09:47

lovely name ciwi my nephew is called owen. Its so strange the way these pgs are going all the same gender, its so weird. You would have though one of us is going to be the strange one who doesnt.

Just been reading up on prolonged bleeding and its another symptom to my fibroid problem. So we shall see how it goes, if I am still bleeding by the end of the week then I think I shall demand a scan and blood tests, to be on the safe side.

greenzebra · 07/11/2011 09:50

oh should have said the stop the witch pills stop the bleeding when your on them, I think if I can remember its about 5 days of pills and then you have another bleed after and then your cycle goes back to normal. I will get it checked though just incase its perimemopause or thyroid problems, these are what I got checked for last time. Im just hoping though that it will finish today and then I can get on with swi! (im getting very frustrated! lol)

ciwi · 07/11/2011 10:00

green af is a pain anyway, it's bad enough going on for a week, nevermind 2! Our surname is irish so we think the irish spelling looks nicer next to that. It's a lovely sounding name though I think. It is funny the way the genders are going on this thread. dachs can't break the trend, maybe mel will!

Bluetinkerbell · 07/11/2011 10:07

I'm sure I will break the trend when I do get pregnant Wink DH and I were both surprised Sterre was a girl, as DD1 and my niece are the only girls on his side of the family. My BIL who had 4 children has 1 girl and 3 boys, other BIL has 3 boys! The chance of having a 3rd girl would be surprising the least Wink although I wouldn't mind.

DH bought some fertility friendly lubricants on Amazon at the weekend Grin

OP posts:
razzdazz · 07/11/2011 12:32

Yay for blues DH, thats dedication to swi Wink
ciwi I think Eoghan is a lovely name. I have also been browsing the little boys clothes and nursery decor, have told myself strictly that I must wait until the 20 week scan.
green sorry, I totally missed your post earlier. When did you find out you had fibroids?? I would imagine it is highly likely that they are the cause of the extended bleed, though my gynae days are such a long time ago. Will you be using ovulation sticks this month to try to estimate where you are at?? Do you have a completion date for the move now??

CheeseandGherkins · 07/11/2011 12:39

Thanks for the birthday wishes, it was a nice day. Had a chinese in the end. Visited Scarlett too, was 11 months since she was born yesterday.

razz I'm thinking about a section myself and it worries me, I really just want the best outcome though so I think a section might be better for us. I need to have a chat with my consultant about things yet, I'm worred she might not want to agree to one or being induced earlier, I'm guessing they'll want 38 weeks but I'd be a lot happy at 37 or ideally a couple of days before as Scarlett died at 37 weeks exactly.

Dachs they can tell at 16 weeks, as long as baby is cooperative :)

green sorry your AF is so bad :(

AugustMoon · 07/11/2011 12:48

Hi Angel, Green, Dachs, ciwi, razz - congratulations for your boy, impressed you're keeping it a secret x - Too, Blue, cheese, hope I haven't missed anyone. Ah Lemon, hope she's ok.

AF finally arrived - feels a bit odd to be on this thread and relieved to have AF but it means we can really start ttc once its over. I was starting to feel sooo bloated and had crippling cramps last night. I'm in bed now feeling yuk, (and cold, lazy and a bit grumpy) hope I don't get a 2-weaker like you green what a pain. So 1st day of cycle wld be 7th Nov... Just thinking aloud now.

Xxxxx

greenzebra · 07/11/2011 13:04

razz yeah I think its fibroid related, but I still think I should get it checked. Maybe I have more or they are growing or dying. Its not like heavy bleeding its just continued spotting. And sometimes its like its gone and then it comes back. A real pain.
I will be using ov sticks as soon as the bleeding stops. We dont have a completion date eyt but it cant be too far off now. Yayy

AugustMoon · 07/11/2011 13:04

Ah, just to say as you may know I have 2 DS and then Jacob my DS3 so if I get pg I'm not sure whether I have more chance of another boy or whether the odds are that I'd have a girl...? Before Jacob I have to admit I always wanted a daughter, don't really mind now either way, not that I minded before - hope you know what I'm trying to say here Confused

greenzebra · 07/11/2011 13:10

razz forgot to say I found out I had fibroids about two years ago, I was having really weird long and painful periods and I said to the doc, that it was like something was blocking the flow. She gave me a funny look and didnt do much, I ended up having blood tests and then they came back normal. So they sent me to have a scan and found I had multiple fibroids three large ones and loads of small. I thought I would have problems getting pg, but then we fell pg a year later. The fibroids grew with the baby, made me look huge. They also started to die during the pg, this was the worse pain ever. Ive had a scan since well it was 2 months after Ophelia was born and was told that they were still there. I was hoping they might have disaapeared as I have heard that they can after childbirth. But no luck.

cheese sorry missed it was your birthday. Happy belated birthday.

greenzebra · 08/11/2011 08:05

where is everybody?

I made a slight miss calculation I am on CD12 today (still way to long!) and still a bit of bleeding, its alot less so fx it stops today and then I can get on and ov test and swi. Was thinking that maybe its slightly stress related as it was the six month anniversery. So Im putting it down to that so far and Im sure the fibroids dont help.

I hope everyone is having a good day today.

Bluetinkerbell · 08/11/2011 08:13

I'm here will catch up when I've done the playgroup cycle ride Wink

OP posts:
DiffedAgainDachs · 08/11/2011 08:28

Am at work so can't post much today but will catch up later when i get home, and fill you in on what my evil boss has been up to this time...

AugustMoon · 08/11/2011 08:38

Morning OMG never had AF like this. Woke up soaked (sorry if tmi) and i'm in agony. Wondering whether I would need to go for this scan now... haven't had an appointment yet but the doc requested it because AF hadn't arrived. Green hope yours stops today - you're probably right about the stress. Don't really know anything about fibroids, are they common?
Dachs tell us the evil boss story!
Wil be lurking all day today I think - such miserable weather and feel horrible so going to have a lazy one - once I've taken the boys to school and walked the dog! Ooh, is that the time already - must dash.
