CheeseandGherkins · 04/11/2011 10:30

Morning all. Ds2 is getting his cast off today, finally! It's been 7 weeks now the poor thing. He can't wait. It's my birthday on Sunday, don't know how that came around either.

green I'm not telling many people names either. I think it goes with other dcs names, mostly at least!

razz I love those names, really beautiful.

Angel glad to hear Phoebe is going well :o

spilt ((hugs)) it's just not right having to do it is it :(

blue Can you call them to see if you can still go along? I'm sure it must have have been an oversight or gone missing in the post?

lemon sorry to hear that :( ((hugs))

jane wow 2 weeks!

razzdazz · 04/11/2011 17:21

So excited.......just went for a private scan and baby is totally fine. Now know for sure that it does not have the same condition that we lost Thomas to.
Also, just to be a follower and stick with the tradition of this thread.......I appear to be team blue again Grin

janedoe25 · 04/11/2011 17:27

razz Wow, another little boy congratulations! Grin

MelMal · 04/11/2011 17:31

Great news Razz.
I got my new bed delivered today so have built that while DH was at his work. Best that way as we always argue about DIY stuff as he's rubbish at it! Anyway, am now on my new bed and don't want to get up. We're off to a concert tonight. Going to see Horse at an up close and personal gig. We used one of her songs at Ruby's funeral so probably in for an emotional night. She is amazing. For those who haven't heard of her check out you tube for the song "heaven can wait" and "stars". Beautiful songs and very apt for us ladies xx

AngelGeorgie · 04/11/2011 17:51

Excellant news Razz lovely news. Xxx bet you are relieved?
Mel oh new bed ... Lovely. Bet you can t wait to get in to it. I love my bed it's huge it's a super kingsize.I vaguely remember having nights of uninterrupted sleep!!!
Have a good time tonight.
Cheese hope your son got on ok?
Phoebe been weighed again today all good she's put on another 4 oz so defiantly going in the right direction.another day of feeding +++ so I ve just topped her up with a bottle. Hopefully, she ll pass out now.!!!

razzdazz · 04/11/2011 18:02

Sorry cheese in my own excitment I forgot about your little man Blush I too hope that all went well with him.
Thanks jane and mel....enjoy your night out, did you say the songs are by Horse??
angel yes, I am so relieved. I know there is lots that can go wrong still but at least I no longer have to worry about that tragic condition. Another 4oz, way to go Phoebe Grin

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 04/11/2011 19:14

Razz, yippee, that's so great! And another boy, too! So happy for you.

Cheese, good for DS2! 7 weeks is a long time for a little boy to be in a cast. Are you doing anything nice for your birthday?

Angel, we have a super-king too, and I love it! It is awful when we go to PIL because their spare bed is a measly double, and we spend all night kicking each other. Yay for Phoebe's feeding frenzy!

I started the day by listening to Bean's heartbeat galloping away - it was lovely! Then after work we went shopping and wandered around Mothercare until DH got nervous and started worrying that we were tempting fate and we had to leave. Bean now has her first toy - a super-soft zebra - and two little outfits bought specifically for her, not passed down from Thea. I also have some new boots and books for me Blush.

ciwi · 04/11/2011 19:45

Hi everyone,
razz great news, glad I have someone to join me in team blue!
angel well done Phoebe for putting on weight!
too sounds like you have had a lovely day, we have been looking at baby stuff too but not bought anything yet, probably will do soon though, the excitement takes over sometimes, it's nice when it does.
cheese glad your ds is finally getting out of his cast.
mel enjoy the concert, I will have a look at that singer,I haven't heard of her before
I am glad some of you are better prepared with names than we are, we just can't seem to come up with one we both like! I like aiden and eoghan, dh likes cilian and ruari. Have looked at so many names I can't imagine seeing one we haven't already considered!

Bluetinkerbell · 04/11/2011 21:53

Hi all!

I've just ordered Sterre's Twilight picture on canvas together with a beautiful pic of DD1 as Photobox is doing a 2 for 1 canvas deal until today midnight Grin so happy with it!
They're going to get a special place in our new house!

Schooltrip went ok today, was a bit boring, as we didn't have a guide to talk to the children... and they had to go round themselves!

razz yay for team blue!

Mel we've got a superking size bed as well! it's heaven! Wink I think I had DD1 in with me almost every morning since she's been born! I love cuddles with her in bed!

jane not long now! so excited for you!

Angel glad Phoebe is doing so well!

green I don't know yet whether we will go to the memorial service!

too you've got a lovely midwife there! :) super you bought bean a lovely zebra

OP posts:
greenzebra · 05/11/2011 10:25

blue thats beautiful. A lovely tribute to Sterre. Her name looks beautiful written in the sand.

Well yesterday was DH's 30th and we ended up with the birthday pie I made him plus a birthday cake his ma made him. Lucky boy or should I say man! I told him yesterday we cant call him a boy anymore. He looked grumpy! He didnt want to turn 30.
We are going out later to book his new tatoo, he wants to get a band around his arm one for each decade hes been on this earth. We shall see if he goes along with this. Hes had this idea ever since he saw the fountain (our second date movie).

We have a double bed, I kind of like it really and also DH is a person who feels the cold and Im someone whose always hot! So he is always snuggled up to me at night, it makes me feel cooler and him feel warmer! I think if we had a bigger bed he wouldnt be warm enough. We do have a kingsize duvet though.

MelMal · 05/11/2011 11:14

Concert was amazing and first night in new bed was also amazing!

AngelGeorgie · 05/11/2011 15:50

Mel how lovely xxx
Blue glad you re happy with Sterre's canvas xx
Green the bonus with a huge bed is you can be close if u want to or when they ve pissed u off u can sleep without touching them!!!WinkWink

CheeseandGherkins · 05/11/2011 22:12

razz that's wonderful news :) So odd that we're all having the same sex baby as the ones we lost so far.

Mel we have a new bed too funnily enough, getting it put up on Monday though as we had to get some bits from Ikea today and it's my birthday tomorrow so, didn't fancy spending it putting up a bed!

Angel he seems ok now, still limping a little but that's just from being in the cast fro so many weeks I think. He was out of the cast after 4 weeks for about a day but was still in pain so we took him back, they x-rayed him again and he'd healed but just couldn't walk on it so they put the cast back on for another 3 weeks. He spent a week still not weight bearing and then gradually put it down, by the end he was able to get about easily so I think he did need the extra time. He's only 4 as well but glad to be out of it now :) Great news about Phoebe again :)

Too dh is taking me out to do some shopping, probably with the children in tow so not sure how much we'll get done! :o Just a nice relaxing day planned and he's going to cook a roast, I love roasts especially with cauliflower cheese mmm.

ciwi I'm still unsure on names, I'm leaning towards Ella now but just not sure!

Blue I love photos on canvas, they come out beautifully.

AngelGeorgie · 05/11/2011 22:48

Love Ella. My friend's child is called Ella. Happy birthday for tomorrow cheese x
This bonfire night so totally & utterly different to last years. Been out all day shopping, bumped in to a friend & get family had coffee with them.home about 6 chilled with Ant, Phoebe & a glass of wine. Is lovely. Where as , what I remember about last year, was a very long day with no hope enveloped in despair & grief. Can t believe that's only a year ago.
Hope you ve all had a good night??? Xxxx

razzdazz · 06/11/2011 09:30

Happy birthday cheese, hope you have a fab day Grin
angel so lovely that you are chilled and full of hope this bonfire night. Annaversaries of such tradgedy are always going to be tough, especially the first ones, the pain is still too real.
I took dc to a fireworks display with my parents as dh is still abroad, it was actually really impressive. It was the 1st year that dd enjoyed herself, she kept saying "im brave now cus Im nearly 9".
Hope all have a good weekend.

AngelGeorgie · 06/11/2011 10:57

Arh Razz that's lovely what your daughter said xxx

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 06/11/2011 11:22

Happy Birthday, Cheese! Hope you have a lovely day shopping. Ella is an adorable name.

Angel, glad to hear you had a good time at the fireworks.

Blue, that picture is beautiful!

I am starting to worry that I have been swizzed. I bought a memory foam mattress on Groupon for £250 reduced from £1000, and the company (Clouds Memory Foam) sent me an email saying the mattress would be delivered in 4-6 weeks and they would email me delivery details. I heard nothing after that, so I chased them after a couple of weeks and eventually got an email back saying that the mattress would be delivered in 4-6 weeks. It has now been 5 and a half weeks and I have had nothing else - no delivery details or anything. I am freaking out! Do you think they took my money and ran?

MelMal · 06/11/2011 11:45

Too they've probably over sold the mattress on the groupon so have a huge order backlog. Email them every day until you get a reply x

MelMal · 06/11/2011 11:45

Sorry, Happy Birthday Cheese, hope you have a lovely day xx

janedoe25 · 06/11/2011 11:57

Happy birthday cheese! I Love the name Ella too, it was on our list until our friends used it.

too I agree with mel keep on at them.

angel I'm glad you had a good day.

blue I have the writing in sand with Zoe's name, we are going to put it onto canvas (if we ever get round to it!).

Hope you all have a good day.x

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 06/11/2011 15:13

Ok, may have a name: Sienna. DH and I both like it; it goes well with Thea; it's only number 82 in the top Scottish girl's names 2010, so it is not too popular, unlike Sophia or Emily, but it's not completely out there either. Oddly, I like brown as a colour. It is a little bit yah, but not too bad, and I think Sienna Miller will be well forgotten by the time this baby is 10. Hurray!

DiffedAgainDachs · 06/11/2011 15:45

razz Yay for being team blue and a good scan xxxx

cheese and too lovely names - Ella is sweet and Sienna was on our list if we have a girl, but i think DH has gone off it a bit!

cheese Happy birthday! xxx :)

angel Hope Phoebe has been letting you get some sleep! Yay for good feeding, although it sounds tiring! :)

blue Hope you are feeling ok - it's hard getting through those times xxx

spilt Naughty pussy cat! Glad the memorial is what you wanted. The urns we got for the twins had Felicia's name spelled wrong so it was a bit upsetting.

ciwi Good luck with the name hunting! :)

mel Hope you're enjoying the new bed - we got a new mattress recently and it's super comfy so it's v hard getting out of bed in the morning!

jane How are the wedding preps going now? I hope are managing to get excited rather than stressed :) xxx

green How did the mississippi mud birthday pie go down? DH loves them too :)

Since the trend on the thread seems to be having the same flavour as our angel babes, what do you think I'll be having? DH thinks it's a girl, but i'd kind of like a boy (although obviously I'll be happy no matter what as long as this one is healthy and we don't lose it...).

AngelGeorgie · 06/11/2011 16:09

dachshow many weeks are you now? Will you find out the sex at your 20 week scan? X
TooSiena is lovely. X
Jane whoop whoop nearly wedding day GrinGrinGrin
We re fine. Been for a walk in the lovely sunshine in the local park. Just feeding & chilling now!!! Xxx
