Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

Velvetcu · 26/09/2011 17:57

LivinInTheMoment · 26/09/2011 18:18

Hooray Digi great news!!

ShellRe DTD, we took a break from about 7wks for a couple wks, but I didn't want to break for too long as missed it... So we have only been going at it missionary as it was gentle. But recently missionary style is getting uncomfortable for me, so will have to try new positions.

Lime consitipation is awful! And the gas is lethal, and embarrassing...! I am drinking prune juice to try get things going. My longest without going is 4 days.....

My sacroiliac joint pain seems to have gone away for now, hope it stays away!
Also I have been feeling little flutters and some kick like movements, the movements feel like a bit of popcorn popping! Can't wait to start feeling kicks :)

Biscuitsandtea · 26/09/2011 18:27

Nope, give up - spill the beans Digi Smile

digitalgirl · 26/09/2011 18:51

Back home now. biscuits it's [ thanks ]

Got to the clinic early and went straight into see the consultant, no waiting. Mentioned the spotting at which point he said 'well let's have a look straightaway'. Soon as he got an image he said 'baby's happy' - and I could see the heartbeat pumping away. Much bigger now, could almost see the different chambers. Listened to the heartbeat which was nice and steady - still quite fast at 171bpm which I've been told by some mn'ers means it could be a girl! Anyway, couldn't find any areas of bleeding so it must have been from DTD on Saturday.

I can't tell you how relieved I am to be posting a 'good news' post. Have told dh we may have to resort to 'teenage fumblings' for the next few weeks till I get my confidence back up again.

Biscuitsandtea · 26/09/2011 18:55

Ah well in that case Thanks Digi Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 26/09/2011 18:57

I think DH might only be getting teenage fumblings for a while. Might have to re-introduce the first / second etc base system Wink

LimeFlower · 26/09/2011 19:04

Brilliant news digi so pleased all is well Grin

LAF77 · 27/09/2011 08:50

Hmm, I think that we are going to have to have a new thread today. I will take the liberty of starting it up! Thinking of all of the lurkers, hoping that you are all OK in your early stages....

LAF77 · 27/09/2011 08:53

Ok, the deed is done, we can carry on over here

notnowImreading · 27/09/2011 19:33

Well, you know that I was all pleased (in a bleak sort of way) about the way I was dealt with by everyone at the EPAC?

All change!

They told me I would be given a phonecall on Friday night or Saturday morning to give me the result of my blood tests and tell me whether it was ectopic or not. No phonecalls Fri or Sat so rang 3 times yesterday but no one was available to speak to me and god forbid the receptionist should find out the information or pass on a message. Obviously, as time went on with no reassurance I started mentalling a bit and as I had quite a bit of pain yesterday evening I ended up ringing a and e, who said that someone would have rung if there was a problem and no news was good news, so I calmed down a bit.

Today, I had a phonecall at work to say my hormone levels were still doubling and I was still pregnant and that I needed to come in to have another blood test. I told them that there was no gestational sac so it must be an ectopic, which came as a complete surprise to the doc on the phone, who seemed to think she was ringing with nice news - ta dah! Miracle pregnancy! So I ran around at work arranging cover for my classes etc ready for hospital dash, only to get another phonecall ten minutes later to say that she'd read the bloody numbers the wrong way round and it was a normal miscarriage after all. Silly cow. All those A stars and years at pissing medical school and CAN'T BLOODY READ! It was a nasty few minutes - never thought I'd be pleased to be told I was miscarrying. All's well, though.

Biscuitsandtea · 27/09/2011 20:26

Oh Notnow - how awful! I guess it is good that they eventually sorted themselves out but they really shouldn't have to go through all that, no, actually, what I mean is YOU shouldn't have to go through all that for them to finally get it right.

Were they even apologetic about making such a mess of it?

Hoe you can have a nice quiet evening and an early night to recover a bit from a horrible day. Do take care xxx

digitalgirl · 27/09/2011 23:51

notnow what a horrible phonecall that must have been. As biscuits said, hope you're taking it easy and treating yourself to something nice after being put through the mill.

Mookymoo · 08/10/2011 20:03

congrats everyone...I think I might be but too scared to even do a test yet! Can't let myself in for the excitement and let down again, going to try and hang til 8 weeks if I don't drive myself insane by then

Mookymoo · 08/10/2011 20:05

Also Notnow, what a shitty way to be dealt with. But speaking to friends, I don't know if a good/competent EPAC exists

Biscuitsandtea · 08/10/2011 20:15

Hi Mookymoo - we have a new thread going as this one is nearly full up. But would be lovely to see you there.

I would post a link but am on my phone. Similar title but posted on more recently if that helps.

Either way we'll be there to help you with the mentalling! xx
