Good luck far hope you get to DTD this evening! Fx for jaye on the dreaded wait, hope AF stats away.

Sorry to hear you're down SBC Fx AF stays away.

Have looked back at charts and seen that my LP is usually 11 or 12 days so will expect AF on Wednesday otherwise i'll be POAS with a passion.... Blush

MiniH · 13/05/2011 07:52

SBC - am joining you in feeling glum as pretty sure af is on it's way. Sigh.

At least I've got a blood test scheduled for next week so fx af stays away long enough so that test is still within day 5. On that, does anyone know if day five is still ok for blood test? - gp said needs to be day 2-5 but have read elsewhere that needs to be no later than day 3. My surgery only seems to do blood tests on one day though (which is ridiculous as the chances of that being the right time is pretty slim!)

ElmMum · 13/05/2011 08:02

MiniH I don't know if it has to be day 3 but I have a similar question because my day 21 test falls on a Saturday when the surgery isn't open, so the receptionist has booked me in on the Friday morning i.e. day 20. Not sure that's any good? Any thoughts, anyone?

hubbylove · 13/05/2011 08:06

Have a peak at last!!! Only problem is I'm on a work conference in Marrakech... Not back until Sunday.... Grrrrrr

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 13/05/2011 12:04

Hi all, feeling a little better today - CBFM is flashing m today and AF not arrived (prob due monday) so back to being hopeful - may fold and test tomorrow morning!

Re the test dates - one day either side won't really make much difference, especially if it is just the gp looking at them, if anything it may help you get a referral to gynae! All my bloods came back 'fine' except my prolactin every time, despite the fact I was mostly ovulating on day 20/21 so they are not the be all and end all of diagnosis.

If you get to see a gynae and they look through the results, be sure to tell them what days you get your peaks/lh surge and what cycle day you had the tests done. The day 21 should be 7 days after ov/lh surge, which all gps seem to think will happen on day 14 hence the day 21 test, so the results would be misleading anyway. My advice is keep a diary so you can tell the gynae everything at the start - mine wasn't particularly interested in much I said, but became concerned when I told him I ov'd around 18-21. (I now ov around day 14 and am now normal - this has only come about by the gynae sorting my hormones in conjunction with an endocrinologist - I simply would never stand a chance of getting pg otherwise -damn those slightly polycystic ovaries and stressful job/constitution!!!)

HTH

Loup23 · 13/05/2011 12:41

is day 18-21 too late then SBC sorry if being stupid..? I usually O on days 22-24 but this month was 17.

Keziahhopes · 13/05/2011 18:49

MiniH - I have had those tests three times and each time it had to be day 3 ... and day 20 sounds too early, so why not see where else you can have blood done and take the test form with you. We can't go to the hospital for blood but there are 2 gp surgeries that have open sessions for blood each am and one other place that does 3 times a week, your gp centre should tell you where else to go. Getting the dates right is important otherwise tests no use - the gynaecologist said it had to be day 3, the day 21 is never day 21 but 7 days after ovulation so if you ovulate day 13 then day 20 is ok for you otherwise is no use. Or get gp to do bloods next month as well so you can compare - that is what I did.

Yay to SBC - can't wait to see nice positive post on Monday from you. Have you tested yet?

ElmMum · 14/05/2011 11:47

Kezia thanks for the info. If this month's cycle is anything like last month, then day 20 and day 21 will be too early for me.

I know I've asked this before but based on the CBFM readings, when do you calculate ov happens? I don't get any noticeable symptoms (ov pain etc), so I can't really judge using my own body.

If I get a peak reading on, say, days 16 and 17, would I count 7 days from the first peak or the second, or sometime later, to calculate when my day '21' bloods should be taken?

Agh, why don't GPs tell you this stuff????

Ilovekittyelise · 14/05/2011 12:58

elm, im pretty sure i ovulate the day of the second peak, when i had a very early scan with this pregnancy (which is far more accurate on dates that the 12 week scan as growth more uniform at that stage) it confirmed the date of conception as the second peak day. i would probably assume 7 days from peak day 2 for 7 DPO. good luck xxx

ElmMum · 14/05/2011 13:03

Thanks Ilovekittyelise. I'll work it out and change the date of the day 21 test with the GP.

Oh, to just get a BFP this month and skip all this palaver!

Keziahhopes · 14/05/2011 18:25

Elm - I get no symptoms either and both Gp and my Gynaecologist (well all the junior dr's doing their 6mth placements!!) .. either way day 20 will be no use to you nor day 5!! Hope you get blood taken at right time.

hotcrossSES · 14/05/2011 20:58

Hello all - sorry for going AWOL but gave up a bit on CBFM as my cycle was pretty regular. Anyway, I have news as I got a BFP!!! I'm (cautiously) 5+4 but pretty worried as I had 2mmc before DS.

Anyway, after nearly a year of ttc, I hope this brings you all hope and I look forward to hearing your (positive!) news.

weimy · 15/05/2011 19:36

Hello all,

I am nearly on cycle 7 and am considering using the monitor do you have to start on cd1 and what does it actually entail?

many thanks

Weimy :)

Clockspotter · 15/05/2011 19:48

SBC am so surprised as your syptoms all sound spot on. Glad youre feeling OK about it, I know I sometimes have had a strange feeling of relief when AF arrives as its a new month and a new start.

Still having 'high' readings, every day since I started POAS this month. MC was back at the beginning of April and feel fully recovered. Its strange that hormones could still be affecting my system and am trying to work out how this all works. Am wondering what to do next month- reset the machine or just carry on???

jazzy283 · 15/05/2011 20:07

Weimy - the machine requests you to start on CD1 its really really easy CBFM tells you when to test you pop the test stick in and wait for the reading simples :o i was unsure about using one as i felt i was turning into a pee on stick mad woman but i say go for it !! every little helps right fx

weimy · 15/05/2011 20:11

Thanks jazzy, hopefully af will stay away till tue and I will have time to pic one up :)

farfallarocks · 15/05/2011 20:25

hello gals, hope you all had nice weekends.
We were away this weekend and managed to DTD on Thurs night (peak) and Saturday morning (high). Soooo we shall see.
We were at a wedding and about 20 people were pregnant, very much hoping to join them some time soon!
How - what to do. Have a glass of wine tonight or not???

Ilovekittyelise · 15/05/2011 20:26

congrats ses thats wonderful news im keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out as you deserve.

SBC don't want to give you false hope but test could still be negative now. when i had first BFP i was in such a foul mood - i felt so pre-menstrual, crampy, moody, etc and thought 'great, know im not pregnant even before my period is late'. don't give up hope til the fat lady sings.

hotcrossSES · 15/05/2011 20:28

Thanks all for your congrats :) I really hope you will all be joining the upduffed club soon.

weimy - hello!! Don't worry if AF arrives a few days before you get your CBFM. IIRC, you have the first 5 days of each cycle to let it know when CD1 was. Instruction leaflet is all pretty clear but failing that, the girls on here are very knowledgeable!
