Hi All

I have struggled with OPK's as never got a positive have seen dr had bloods and all levels are normal so it just a waiting game and i hate waiting its going to be good to share experiences with others im hoping it keeps me sane lol lol :o

Keziahhopes · 10/05/2011 21:03

Jaye - this is your month!!

Hi Jazz - CBFM is very easy to use, so hope by end of month it has all your stats and by end of 2nd month giving you peak's (if not in month 1) - reassuring blood tests.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 10/05/2011 21:08

fr00tbat · 10/05/2011 22:25

Thankyou so much - v scared, have no idea what is going on, keeping everything crossed
BFP was 8/5/11 - I can't believe we did it!

farfallarocks · 11/05/2011 09:23

Hello jazzy and welcome.
Congrats again fr00tbat you must be so excited!

Well I got a high at last, day 12!
Not sure if its because I dipped the stick in FMU instead of holding it in the stream.
Bad news is that DH got stage fright last night and now thinks that we should not count days, just DTD when we feel like it.
He definitely wants kids just said he found the build up and focus on sex not for fun a real turn off.
The other issue is that he has a high stress job and rarely feels like 'it ' anyway other than at the weekend or on holiday.

I don't want to put any pressure on him, I can see how it must feel weird to perform on schedule. I thought it would be a fun little project for us but he says sex should not be a project and we should just chill out and 'see what happens'. But at that rate it will take us forever even if everything IS in working order.

Any one experience this and have any tips??

ElmMum · 11/05/2011 09:43

Hi far, we had this problem a couple of months ago. I think we were talking about it too much just before dtd, as it were. So I just decided I should instigate things and not tell him what or why. Men are simple creatures. Even one night when he'd expressed the fact that he was too tired and wasn't in the mood, it didn't take much to actually get going once we'd started dtd and stopped discussing cycles etc. It felt a bit artificial for me at the start because I knew we weren't really in the mood, but I don't think men worry about that. Sorry, not explaining very well because it all sounds a bit rude! Good luck!

farfallarocks · 11/05/2011 09:52

You are right and thanks for that perspective.
I shall be a bit more mysterious and not bang on about it so much!
I do worry that he is really only keen at the weekend. Hmmmm

Clockspotter · 11/05/2011 10:45

Hi, so pleased to see two positive bits of news fr00t and SBC!

AF arrived last week, 4 weeks after MC. POAS this morning and got an immediate high reading. Whats that all about? Only on day 6! Can anyone shed any light please? Last time it read low all the way until about day 12...

farfallarocks · 11/05/2011 11:01

I am no expert but could it be that your MC is having some effect on the reading, your system might still be out of whack despite your AF returning?

I think it did say something about that in the leaflet.

Loup23 · 11/05/2011 11:24

Hello and welcome jazzy good luck for this month and good luck to jaye you must be early stages of 2ww now....? Good luck far, glad you got your high.

How are you doing SBC? Any more symptoms? How many dpo are you?

clockspotter I'm not sure why it went straight to high but hope your peak comes along soon, I have had a few months where highs start at day 9. Good luck.

I am currently 4 or 5 dpo and am trying not to symptom spot. For some reason (unusual) I feel positive this month, I just think I am pg but can't explain why... Really hoping that my intuition is right but am going to have to wait another week before testing. At the moment no symptoms apart from bigger boobs (usually get this after O) and lots of cm...Is that a good sign?

Waves to all those lurking and hope that this month brings more graduates x

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 11/05/2011 11:48

Hi all - am 10 dpo and still fighting the POAS urge! Am being extremely air headed today (is that a symptom?) eg - drove out stable yard, stopped to get out and close gate, but turned engine off and went to walk off! Boobs still painful, but slightly less - have had to go to bed with bra on and haven't been able to run since friday as any amount of bounce is painful! I also feel a bit sick at various times through the day - mostly late at night, but have not actually been sick - I am one of those people that'll do anything not to be sick! (I think that guarantees me severe morning sickness when I finally get pg!!)

Farfall I found not talking to DP about the TTC issue and just venting on here helps a lot with the pressure the men types feel in this situation. I had a similar issue with my dp again smack bang on OV day (not impressed) I dd finally manage to coax him around! And they have the nerve to make jokes about women not wanting it further into a relationship!

Clock FX for you, they do say that you are most fertile in the months after MC, so I hope this is the case for you x

Loup23 · 11/05/2011 12:48

Fx for you SBC and well done for resisting the urge to POAS. Hope AF stays away.

Clockspotter · 11/05/2011 14:31

That sound hopeful Loup. Wow there are lots of pregnancy vibes flying around at the minute! Hope its catching, everyone!

SBC, sounds like you dont need to POAS. I could totally tell something was different even before getting that BFP. And although they call it morning sickness, I found it was worst when I was tired. Lots of luck.

chocciechip · 11/05/2011 15:12

farfall After two years of scheduled sex DH and I embraced the 'syringe from the pet shop' method. There is a whole thread on MN on turkey basting, apparently, but we found breaking up the SWI'ing by using this every now and then when we were both tired and bored really helped. There you go - had to lower the tone Blush. We couldn't leave it to weekends only because I am ANCIENT and every single chance had to be hit no matter how. I couldn't ever manage to not tell my DH which days were right because its just not in my nature, but I do think there is wisdom in that as well.

sbc Do try resist early testing - it creates uncertainty and sometimes heartbreak as I have discovered first-hand. Stand strong if you possibly can and wait until the day AF is due. Fingers crossed for you.

loup Glad to hear you sounding so upbeat and positive.

Really hoping for more BFPs on this thread. You all deserve it so much. x

farfallarocks · 11/05/2011 15:25

Off to find that thread. Love it!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 11/05/2011 20:48

I am well aware of the turkey basting thread - have been a contributor to the latest one! We haven't succumbed to it yet, but it is likely!!

Keziahhopes · 12/05/2011 10:53

Like Choccie we have succumbed to the syringe usage!! Well, my theory was I can't actually cope with physical sex right now due to stroke symptoms but just had ivf in March (and after drugs meant to be more fertile, right - so......) Dh I must admit is being great, as having seen me go through IVF once he now knows what I had to go through - so he is not complaining about my demands on him now!!! Not saying it will work - but hey, Choccie got her bfp naturally, so..... Wink

SBC sounds like great symptoms to me.

Clock - I am having 2 weird cycles post failed ivf so I think after miscarriage must be the same!

danielle247 · 12/05/2011 11:37

Hi ladies,

I'm conducting some online psychology research which is based on how womens judgments of attractiveness fluctuate throughout the cycle and wondered if any of you would like to take part please?

Out of the people who have completed it so far most of them are very unsure about their menstrual cycle dates so its difficult for me to estimate their fertility, but I figured you guys would be more reliable about this sort of thing if you are tracking your own fertility!

Please see links below. They take 10 mins each and involve answering fertility questions then rating images for attractiveness. There is a prize draw of £30 for anyone who completes the surveys, and you can enter the prize draw 3 times if you do all 3!

Rating Faces nclpsych.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_bgyyDdvYVbzMznC

Rating Bodies nclpsych.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_2fslziIWqEPvEDa

Any questions let me know. Thanks very much in advance!
Danielle

farfallarocks · 12/05/2011 15:03

Well I got my peak this morning on day 13 (backed up by a smiley face on the digital tests) So only 1 high day then straight to peak.

I have got a sneaky suspicion though that I ovulate very soon after LH surge, like 12 hours or so.
I feel this because of EWCM timing (2 days ago) and also the fact I have a short cycle (22-24 days)
So I wonder if for me getting the smiley face in the morning and DTD in the evening will already be too late.
perhaps I am overthinking this a bit. hmmmm

Loup23 · 12/05/2011 15:36

Good luck far hope this is your month! Did you manage to DTD yesterday?! I had EWCM for a few days before the peak (and have for a few months) but I did get pg from dtd on day 1 peak and day 2 (although that ended in m/c) definitely worth going for it today! Good luck!

farfallarocks · 12/05/2011 15:49

No did not manage it as DH out until 3am with clients Hmm
so last time was Sunday. Imagine he will be knackered/hung over tonight so will see how we go. I shall try and be subtle about it.
And we have the day off tomorrow, yay.

GOOD LUCK sb and LOUP23, this thread is so addictive

jayebird · 12/05/2011 17:21

Thank you for the positive thoughts everyone :) I had my 2nd day of peak yesterday and today is my high.. definitely SWI haha.. and now the wait for AF that always seems like a lifetime! Shes due around the 22nd of June but I hoping shes on holidays!! Best of luck to everyone!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 12/05/2011 17:41

Sad think my symptoms are rapidly becoming AF symptoms, feeling quite glum Sad

Keziahhopes · 12/05/2011 19:58

Far - think the booklet with monitor suggests as soon as you get a high to DTD. Though DTD on peak or after should be ok also as sperm can survive for up to 5 days, egg has to be in certain place in fallopian tube for fertilisation to occur etc (the joys of ttc for 3yrs means I have read too much so some may be mixed, but basically from high DTD)

Sorry SBC for feeling like that.
